Eira smiled softly to herself as she felt the warm rays of the sun. Then she blinked, looked around, and realized that their little hideaway, of which they had been sleeping in for the past three nights, was in the direct line of the riseing sun. For the past three days it had been cloudy or raining, not a spot of sunshine. But now with the clouds moveing on the sun was creeping in. She sighed with some relief as the sun only reached her and for the most part didn't touch Morthan, however she noticed the sleeping stallions wing, ever draped over her, was in the sunlight. Fearful he might get hurt she carfully moved, shifting so the wing slide off her and back out of the light. Relaxing again She turned to look at Morthan, waiting for him to wake so she could inform him their plans of another walk had been destroyed. Oh well...Such was life. However her thoughts, which were skitering close to the downward slide, were cut off as she heard a shrill cry followed by laughter and yelling. Her curiousity did not have to wait long before a small, green winged and horned foal ran into the cave. It paused, seeing Eira and Morthan, before it darted behind the large stallion, shaking. "Shh, don't tell them i'm here!" it whispered urgently.Eira was confused as to what the foal ment when two rather mean looking stallions showed up. "Hay girlie, where is the brat?" One called to her. "Yeah, stupid where is the brat?" the other prompted.

Morthan gave a contented sigh in his sleep as his wing was moved into the shade; though not consciously aware of it on some level or other he had been beginning to feel the burn of the sun. A moment or two later, the blue-eyed Reya found himself pulled from sleep by a young voice. He caught a glimpse of the foal, clearly a crossbreed, before it dived for cover and as the two stallions entered the cavern he pushed himself to his hooves.
"The only brats I see are you two," he snapped irritably, knowing that they must have been bothering the poor little green thing even though he hadn't heard the sounds Eira had. "Bugger off the both of you before I find somewhere interesting to stick my horn," he added acidly as he recalled their sort from his own foalhood. 'The freaky pale one what can't see in the dark.' He was damned if he was going to let these two take out their petty sadism on whoever that foal had been just for being what it was.

"Oooo, look at the ghost boy. So scary." they taunted. "We heard about you. Some other visators mentioned a Reya who can't walk in the sunlight. Said he was all white, traveling with a brown Ichsa. You can't scare us pops." They looked at each other and nodded. Moving a few steps brought them in line with Eira, who had moved closer to the cave entrence when she had heard the yell. One, a jala, roughly wraped a wing over her, pulling her back. The other, a fellow, and rather mean, Reya, diped his head and positioned his horn at her neck. "Besides, you wouldn't dare hurt us, we gots your little princess here. Now hand over the brat and we'll let her go."
The small foal shook. Peeking out he gasp. Slowly he started to come out from behind the stallion. He wasn't gonna let the mare get hurt because of him.
Eira stood absolutly still. However she spotted the foal trying to come out. "Morthan don't let them get that child." she said, tho she was sure he had no intent on letting the child be hurt, she also hoped it would stop the child from sacrificing himself.

Morthan narrowed his eyes at the pair and dropped a wing down in front of the green youth to keep him from walking over to the stallions. "I suggest," he said coolly, "that you let her go right now. You see, the counter argument to you having 'my princess' is that if you harm her in the slightest I will kill the pair of you very, very slowly. Now I don't know what you want with this foal and I don't much care either; you're not getting him." Eira didn't want him to let them get the youth, so he wouldn't even if it did mean putting her at risk.
"If one of you is stallion enough to step up and duel me over this, so be it," Morthan went on; Gods knew he'd done things like this before. "If not, just take your pretty backsides out of here and find somebody else to bother because I am not going to play your game." He hoped they had at least one brain between them, if they didn't Eira might actually end up hurt. If they did however, he might well end up fighting one of them; probably the Reya. Damn, that would get him burned. Well, there was nothing to be done about it. He couldn't back down now, not now they had Eira and not now that the brown mare herself had charged him with keeping the foal safe. This, the albino decided as he forced himself to remain calm and to not focus on the horn that was against his mate's neck, was not turning out to be a very good day.

"course you could, Pops." The other grinned at an idea. "Alright then, Morthan is it? Pleasure, but we shall. Come on, lets go. This mare here is much better fun then that little punk anyway." he grinned and, horn at the ready, started to herd Eira out of the cave, his buddy following behind. "Yeah, lots more fun. Thanks a bunch, see you around!"
"Morthan!" Eira called to the stallion with a mix of fear and warning. Half of her wanted the stallion to stay right where he was. The sun would burn him and that would be bad, The other part said to hell with the sun, he needed to save her.
The foal pranced nervously. "Oh i'm so sorry...." He said softly. Oh why did he drag them into it?

Morthan gave a snort of anger as the pair began to pull his mate (his mate! Not their's) away. "Don't be," he told the foal behind him as he stepped out after into the sun. "It's not your fault they're terminally stupid." The sun didn't burn him right away but he could feel it's heat on his back and wings, feel the sting of its brightness on his pale eyes. Still, to hell with that, he had a battle to fight.
"Hey!" he yelled after the pair, stamping a hoof at the ground. "I'm not done with you yet!" So saying, he lowered his horn and broke into a gallop toward the Reya. The stupid little boy had two choices; take his attention away from Eira or get skewered. The Jala would have to wait for now; it was this one that was the big threat.

The pair split, the Reya going one direction ,the Jala the other. The two took up stance on either side of the white stallion, leaving Eira freed, but unable to get back to the cave. "Come on then, Pops, you wanna fight? Then prepare for a but kickin'"
Eira shifted nervously where she was all but stuck. She turned a bit, hiding her left side, of which now bore a small bit of blood from the Reya's horn, having poked her neck while she had been held at horn point. She watched nervously.
The little foal peeked out of the cave. He paused, and waited, preparing his little horn and his strong legs incase he needed to help.

Two at once eh? Well son of a b***h, wasn't that just peachy. The pale stallion kept his attention focused primarily on the Reya, moving slowly toward the younger stallion and forcing himself to ignore the sting that the sun was beginning to bring to his delicate wing; they were always the first to burns. If he was lucky, he considered as he pawed at the ground, he was up against a pair of brash idiots who would back off at the first sign of serious injury. If he was unlucky... if he was unlucky, he might well be in trouble. Snorting defiance at the world in general, Morthan rushed at the younger Reya once more; he had to get that horn out of action.

The younger Reya swiftly side stepped the older stallion. "Come on old man, i'm not some high family punk who can't fight." He rolled his steps and smoothly transitioned into an attack. His Jala partner started to advance on Morthan from behind.
The little foal saw his chance, he thought, to help. Chargeing the jala he attempted to do damage with his little horn. The result was simply the large Jala turned on him. Attempting to scramble away the crossbreed didn't have to worry long before he was rescued.
Eira moved quickly inbetween the jala and the foal. She lowered her head, her horn posing a decent threat to the unhorned nequus. She hoped he'd back off, she really didn't want to hurt him...

Instead of dodging the other stallion, Morthan bared his teeth and continued his charge, taking a long but fairly shallow cut down his neck and slashing viciously at the younger creature's shoulder in return. This done, he sprang back a pace and reared up on his hind legs, lashing out at the curve-horned idiot with his fore-hooves.
"Really? Could've fooled me, boy; I've seen Rit tougher than you," he quipped with a laugh. It had been a while since he'd last had to do this but it was all coming back to him in a flood now. What blows to take in order to give some of his own, when to dodge, how to feint, the best places to strike at another's body with hoof or horn. There was no way he was going to let this young fool get the better of him, no way in hell.

He growled and backed up, and took charge of the stallion, horn aimed for the albino's heart. "Nice job old man, say bye bye to your sweet heart!" He yelled. The jala, after desiding his neck wasnt worth it, took off.
Eira glanced over as the Jala moved away and gasped, backing up, resisting the urge to run into the fighting Reya's. As worried as she was she knew should she get in the way she would only cause trouble, so she took the foal and disappered into cave to hide in the back.
The foal followed, glancing worridly back but followed the mare.

Experiencing an odd moment of de ja vu, the white stallion remained balanced on his hind legs and watched the horn come at him. This was exactly how he'd finished the battle between himself and that pansy Ichsa that had wanted to claim one of his daughters as a mate so long ago. Hopefully the same trick would work for him today, certainly what he was about to do should stop him from getting skewered but whether or not it would give him the chance to finish the fight was another matter entirely. When he judged it to be almost too late to act, the albino narrowed his eyes and, twisting his body somewhat, slammed his hooves down on the other Reya's withers with great prejudice with the aim to knock him flat.

The Reya caught the move but it was to late to really react. He tried to move with it, to lessen the blow. Stumbling back he fought to keep balance. He would not be pushed to the ground. He would not....Quickly he lost balance and landed on his side, glaring up at the larger Reya. "What now old man? Going to kill me?"

Pressing down firmly on the boy's skull with one hoof and placing his horn under the other Reya's exposed throat, Morthan considered the question. "What do you think dear?" he called to Eira, not glancing away from his foe for so much as a moment. "Kill him, castrate him, snap his horn off or something different? I'm taking suggestions."
Killing the b*****d, or at least de-horning him, tempted one of the purely logical parts of the white stallion. If the brat was allowed to go on as he was, doubtless he would end up hurting somebody... Yet if this idiot had too many friends, seriously damaging him might be a poor move in the long run. Hoping that his mate would have some useful input, the albino pressed his horn a little harder against the other stallion's throat to discourage him from doing anything interesting. In the position he was in now it would be the work of a heartbeat or less to end the brash young fool and if he had any brain at all, said fool was well aware of this fact.

Eira blinked before she turned away. Quietly she lead the foal to the vary back and lay down, hiding her head. She wanted no part in harming the young and stupid Reya. Let Morthan do what he felt was needed to protect them....but until he came back into the cave she would not take part. she would ignore the fact should he deside to kill the younger stallion. But has horrible as he was, and as dangerous, she couldn't bring herself to take part. "Do what you think you have to do." She called back. "But please hurry back in..." she looked at the little foal who had curled up beside her. "please..."
