Strong wind! Strong wind!!! Dementia found herself tumbling head over hooves in the grasp of an unexpected gust. Her colorful wings, sufficient to carry her aloft, weren't built to handle rollercoaster wind, and, after a second or two of fighting, she gave up. Folding the wings to her side, she plummeted straight down, out of the wind, and snapped her wings open again in a calmer area.
Heaving a sigh of relief, Dementia decided that walking, for now, was probably the safer form of transportation. Fluttering, feeling rather disheveled, she made it quickly down to ground level, and protected by a nice copse of evergreens.
Hooves crunched in the layer of snow, deep for a regular Soquili, it was nearly up to the belly of the petite Fairy. With a shivery whicker, she headed for some ground that was less heavily adorned with the mantle of white cold flakes.

Jeez, it was awfully blustery out! The peachy-pink-orange-red stallion huffed out in frustration and set his teeth to try to get to a more stable area. He was in his larger form and didn't even try to fly in this. The flowers that made up his wings were as good as any other flutter's... but he'd not been flying for all that long. Spring would be coming soon thankfully... The winter winds tended to be less bitter, but boy were they strong today.
The flower buds were folded up against his body and Flurian smiled as the stupid snow just barely managed to not rub up against his belly. Haha, stupid snow.. I win. The thought brought a silly grin before he lifted his eyes to look about for potential company.
A cold whickery noise greeted his ears before focusing on a purple flutter not all that far away. Picking up his hooves and dancing towards the other, Flur called out gayly, "Hoi there! What brings another out in t his blistering blustersome day?" The words were light and joyful.. if not silly. Pretty much described Flur himself.

Startled, Dementia made a spray of snow, leaping around to see who had hailed her. As it was just another Soquili, and a rather friendly sounding one, she quickly relaxed, and shook off the snow that'd landed on her.
"The fact that she can't find a way to get out of it!" she replied, giving the snow a withering glance, and flaring her wings at it. Nothing happened, and Dementia sighed. "Can't even melt snow."
She looked back to the Stallion, or, rather, up. She was about two hands shorter than he. "I'm lost." she said, matter-of-factly, and added. "A bit of advice for you, my fine, peachy friend. Never follow where a snowman points."

Flurian felt his grin building even as he moved closer to the other one. She was a lovely color, he couldn't help but notice.. ahh, but the wings did seem a bit worrisome. When looking at them, a face seemed to appear in him. Flur couldn't tell if they liked him or not either. Bah!
"She? Oh you mean you." Shaking out his damp hair, the stallion preened, pleased to finally be taller than at least one other Soquili that he came across in his travels. It happened.. well, it never happened which made this event seem so much more amazing.
"Never follow where a snowman points." Some would probably find that to be on the side of bizarre, Flur just grinned and decided that there had to be some wisdom in it. "Where are you headed, Miss...? Perhaps we can be lost together."

Dementia considered the question seriously. She looked about her for snowmen, first thing, so she could rule out a few directions. However, none were nearby, so it seemed all directions were feasible. She looked back up at the stallion, who was pretty handsome, but his wings looked more like flowers than wings. In this weather, Dementia wondered why they didn't wilt. Perhaps they were winter flowers?
She smiled up at him, forgetting his wings for the moment. "Dementia. But my friends call me Deedee. Or Demi. Or Aaaaaaugh." she replied, and moved to look in the direction the stallion had come from. One dark eye moved to look back to the stallion, an unconsciously coy expression. "What's over there, Mr.-?"

Flurian figured himself to be a rather impatient stallion. There were always different things that he could be doing so standing still this long had to be getting him a higher place with the gods. A silly smile spread on his lips and finally his attention went back to where it was supposed to be. Where had she even seen a snowman at? Must have gotten rather close to one of the villages to find one of them.
"Dementia? Unusual name, but a very pretty one... I think I like they way Demi sounds when I say it." With a wise nod, his nickname for a new friend had been decided. Well, he was hoping that she would be a new friend. "Over where?" He stayed quiet then jolted a bit.. Right! Right, swapping names was the most appropriate action.
"Flurian... or Flur.. or really whatever your heart desires."

"FlurianorFlurorreallywhateveryourheartdesires, huh?" Dementia rolled the words together and around on her tongue, liking the feel to them. Flurian? Flur. A snowflake chose that moment to land smack on the middle of her nose, and Demi snorted. Of course! Flurry!
"Nice to meet you, Flurry!" she continued, turning back and smiling brilliantly up at him. She took another look around her, wings vibrating in the wind and cold, and chose a direction that would lead them deeper into the copse. Hopefully away from the wind. She pointed towards it with her muzzle.
"That way, if you don't mind, O my Flurry friend!" she proclaimed. "If you don't mind, I'd like to stay behind you. You make a good wind break, and since I'm small, having you break the trail would be awesome."
Demi took up a position behind Flurry, and after a second, remarked, "The view's not bad either."

The sound of his words being shoved together registered in his brain quite easily. The pink-orange stallion had a tendancy of doing just the same thing, so he followed along with it quite well. Demi was certainly an interesting mare though, usually he felt the oddball out.
Flurry? Well, it was something new and he wasn’t likely to forget about it so she would remember him as well. Not really a bad idea if he did think so himself. Eyeing her purple body and taking in the view, Flur bowed his head before beginning to prance in the direction that she had chosen for them.
“I’m a little bit bigger than you, so it’s only fair that I break the trail open for us.” Too bad there wasn’t a nice hollow tree around here for them to go and warm up. His parents lived close here but that didn’t sound like fun.
“I have to say Demi.. The view from here is lacking…” Flurian put his head down and focused on getting to where it would be warmer.

"As is to be expected. We could both have a nice view if we walked in a circle, but we wouldn't get anywhere." Dementia sagely replied, oogling Flurry's fine flanks. "I shall have to make it up to you when we get somewhere snowmen dare not rear their icy heads."
She followed along quickly in Flurry's wake, only occasionally making some inane remark about the scenery on the side of the trail as well as in front of her. For the most part, she seemed to concentrate on moving forward. The wind steadily picked up, lashing the tops of the pine tree, and sending showers of dislodged snow onto the two Soquili below. After a particularly bad dowsing, Dementia found herself stuck in a drift that was well above her shoulders.
Unable to move, she called out to Flurian. "Damsel in Distress! Come, O My Knight in Peachy Armor!"

A wicked smile twisted along his face, unusual since Flurian usually looked quite innocent. Shaking his mane, the hair just long enough to be annoying, but not long enough to really look good in his mind. The idea of going around in circles amused him though... "Evil snowmen.. but I'll hold you to that Deme-dear."
His ears were pricked back, mostly to keep the snow out of them, but also to listen to what she was saying. Even if it didn't really have anything to do with what was going on, being rude... was rude. The plop! of snow falling all over them seemed almost threatening instead of nice, and sure enough one particularly loud plop caught Deme... Spinning about, his flower petals for wings beating frantically, Flur tried to figure out the best plan of action. Unable to move, she called out to Flurian.
"Ohboy! Got yourself in a pickle, huh? Well... a snow drift.." With that he began to carefully but quickly paw the snow away from her. Their small bodies didn't take to a bunch of snow very well.

"Precisely." Deme replied calmly, though her limbs were starting to feel quite shivery. Unable to really aid in the process of extracting herself, she settled for cheering Flurry on in his efforts. After a few minutes of stamping at the snow around her forelegs, Flurry had removed enough for Deme to squirm her way out. She pranced free, moving her legs energetically to warm them.
"Thank you." she said, quite seriously. "I do not think I would have gotten out of that particular 'pickle' alone." She walked up to him, and nuzzled him affectionately.

Flurian watched her carefully, although by nature he didn't like to be very serious... he knew that she couldn't get too cold. Their small bodies simply wouldn't function with it. Perhaps they'd find a nice hollow log soon and huddle up in it in their smallest size. Or a hollow tree... A blush creeped up his face, hidden by the fact that his face was pink. Flur was watching her movements with probably a bit too much interest. He couldn't help it.. she was just pretty.
"You wouldn't have gotten into the pickle if it weren't for me though." He shouldn't have let her get into trouble like that... Mind wandering, Flur jolted at the nuzzle then flit his wings and moved closer, "You are not too cold now, right?"

Deme leaned her body against Flurry's with an intimacy that was a bit more than just companionable. She was really starting to like this Stallion with his flowery wings, and it wasn't the hypothermia talking, either.
"I'm a little better now." she said, though Flurry could probably feel the quiver to her skin. His body heat was doing wonders, and after a few minutes, she felt warmed enough to continue. "How about we walk like this, hmm?"
Just then, the wind shifted, bringing the smell of burning pine to her nose. Deme's ears immediately perked towards it, and she chuckled. "Smell that? Looks like we now know what direction to go in!"

Flurian felt another blush climbing his cheeks, but he chose to lean back against Deme happily. She was wild and seemed just a bit on the crazy side. What more could a stallion want in a mare? He matched her in the short time spent together, and his instincts told him the best was coming.
His wings began to flutter a bit and he covered his over hers as best as possible. She had incredibly large wings next to his flower petals, but it seemed like a nice intimacy to be able to rub wings. Lord, he’d never asked his father if another mare would find that offensive or nice.. Heh.. Only one way to really find out.
“Yes.. We’ll walk like this because I’d feel lost if you got too cold again.” He really didn’t have a clue which direction to go, and right now the poor stallion would go wherever she had a whim to go. Okay, not anywhere.. She had to pick somewhere safe.

Deme was a little surprised when his wings covered hers, but it was nice touch, and she soon returned the contact equally. It looked like her wings did have a use after all! Well, besides the whole flying and looking pretty thing, but that's besides the point, eh?
The point was, Deme had never really considered herself a romantic, yet here she was sharing body heat with a Stallion that could possibly be THE ONE, and she was honestly considering not leading them to the smell of fire, just so she could remain in this moment a little longer. For a second, she was ready to give into that, but his words let her realize that he was worried about her, and the snow around her legs made its presence known again.
So they could walk and enjoy the last few minutes being alone with one another before reaching whoever had that fire going.
"There's a fire going over in that direction." she told him softly, and stepped out, trusting him to keep pace with her. "Ya know, I'm really glad I met you, Flurry."
