It had been a few days since he had, with the help of the lioness, braught down a gemsbok. He had spoken to Bem about her, telling her how she had helped him to bring back such a feast for them both.
He had decided to find a gift for the liones sin thanks and after spending much time searching for the right thing he had come accross a stone, perfectly smooth and see through as a peice of glass though it was black as onyx. Perhas it was a black diamond, though more likely it was a peice of black sand formed in to glass by the blasing sun.
It didn't matter what it was for Horatio it had seemed the perfect gift so when the sun had risen that day he had headed back towards the place he had met the lioness with the black stone in his mouth, a gift of thanks and friendship.

Perhaps Lukily for Horatio the pale lioness was padding through the long grass once again heading for her favourite lazing spot. The place where she came often simply to get away from the worries of life. She liked to come out here, away from her pride and all the things that made her think, just to relax and gaze at the clouds.
It was of course as he gaze shifted to the sky that she caught the scent of the wild dog. Unfortunately, as was quite often the norm, turning her attention away from her feet caused her to tumble. She cursed quietly though righted herself to greet the male dog. "Greetins horatio." She whispers, trying to hide her embarressment from her tumble.

Horatio smiled around the stone which he carried in his mouth, his tail wagging and ears flickering forwards in a greeting. He cringed when she tumbled, though he resisted running to help as she, he guessed, might not appreciate a wild dog fretting over her.
As she righted herself the pale dog padded up to her placing the stone between his paws before speaking. "Are you okay Gurami?" He couldn't help but acknowlege that she had fallen, he needed at least to check that she hadn't hurt herself in her fall. He tilted his head comically and waited for her responce his golden eyes curious.

Gurami appreciated that the big wild dog didn't run to her in a panic. She didn't like to admit that she was clumbsy though she most certainly was. Smiling she settled with her fore paws crossed and gave a quick nod to his question.
"I'm fine, it's good to see you again Horatio, how are you fareing?" She smiled gently, slightly amised by the way he questioned her with a tilt of his head.

Horatio smiled and gave a nod, his head returning to it's usual possition. "Well, theres a reason for our meeting again so soon. I wished to thankyou for your kindness." The pale wild dog tilted his nose downwards rolling the shimmering stone from between his paws.
"I wanted to give you a gift my friend, you truely helped me out helping me to hunt and Bem, thats my lady friend, she thanks you also." He smiled a slight blush raising on his cheeks.

Raising a brow the yellow lioness looked at the small shining stone,s he could see the ground below through it. "Oh, it's lovely Horatio." She gave a little puurr scooping up the little stone in her paw so she could gaze in to it, her lilac eyes reflecting back from the smooth glassy surface.
"You really didn't have to though, you helped me just as much as I helped you." She coos her pale gaze looking over the big dog a grateful glint in her eyes.

Horatio gave a little pant and chuckled. "Trust me it's my pleasure, it is good to have friends." He smiled cheerily looking to the stone. "You can ask your mate to attach it to your necklace." The necklace of flowers, twigs and shells hadn't gone amiss to the sharp eyed Horatio. It was obviously made with love for the pale lioness, he could see that.

Gurami blushed softly at the mention of her mate. Banda had spent so long making the necklace for her. Her eyes shimmered and she gave a nod. "I'm sure he will." She giggles gently, Horatio was very canny, she liked that, could appreciate his wit.
"I will ask him when I go home." She purrs holding the shimmering stone against her chest.

The pale wild dog gives a nod, his golden eyes shimmering. "I see hemakes you very happy Gurami." He chuckles stretching out his slender limbs. "I shouldbe getting back, I only came to give you your gift." He smiles and nods his head, a wag shifting his tail. "You'll excuse me, I'm sure we will meet again." Smiling his tongue lolled for a moment as he turned to trot away.

Gurami nods gently her tail swaying happily. Itw as nice to have a friend outside of her pride. When he turned to leave though she spoke once again "Horatio wait!" She smiles lifting the necklace form her neck she pulls a soft yellow shell from it before slipping it back around her neck. "Give this to Bem, thank her for her kindness. I do hope you will be ever so happy together."

It was Horatio's turn to blush then his golden eyes shimmering happily. "Thankyou Gurami, you are a good friend." He licked the females cheek and chuckled lightly as he took the yellow shell from her paws. Giving a nod he smiled and padded away, back the way he had come.

Gurami giggled as Horatio licked her on the cheek. She shook her head softly. "Good bye Horatio, perhaps next time we meet you will bring me good news." Stretching her paws oout before her then she rests her chin on her fore legs. Time to relax and do what she came here to do, think of nothing but wild flowers and the sky.
Gurami sighed, if only all of life was this simple.

Horatio paused for a moment putting the shell down he smiled. "I'm sure I will, thankyou Gurami and look after yourself!" he yipped as he picked up the shell once again and raced off throught he long grass quick to vanish from view.
