when ever i strum a power chord that involves the E, it get this unwanted ring, like its slapping against the frets. im pressing down hard enough, and i even raised all of the strings to see if it would leave. and this is on every single fret. and just on the E. every other string is perfectly fine
can anyone figure out wtf is going on?

I asked a similar question here before. It's probly the action; the space between the fretboard and the string. Do you know how to fix this?

what kind of guitar is it? and what kind of bridge does it have? if it has individual hight adjustments for each string (like on Fenders), then you would just have to adjust the hight of the E string. if it's a Tune-o-matic (like on Gibsons), make sure the string hight is correct by elevating the bridge more (or just on the low side). if that doesnt help with the problem, then you have fret issues (loose or uneven frets) at which point I would suggest going down to you local guitar shop (as it my require a re-fret).

When I had that problem, I changed the string, and that seems to have worked.
Even if you just bought the guitar, one never knows what kind of abuse it has gone through (especially if you took the floor model). Maybe someone wore out the string, or the guy at the factory put a lousy string on it. One never knows.
