After a long time of hanging around home, Nalin decided that he wanted to go out and explore... meet new people and all that. His travels had taken him as far as the mountains. There was a few specklings of snow on the ground, and it was colder. He had never seen the mountains this close before, and he thought that they were absolutely beautiful. They glittered in the sunlight and they were so tall!
Nalin wasnt sure if he wanted to continue climbing them, unsure of what he would find in the way of food or shelter. Instead he decided to stroll around the base of the mountain, to see what was on the other sides of it. He knew it would take a lot of time, but that was alright.

 Koorie walked quietly through the snow at the foot of the mountain; she didn't mind the cold and she rather enjoyed it. It matched her heart and soul, which she'd been told multiple times prior was of ice, and she agreed with them. She didn't like being around others, she preferred her solitude.
Her deep red eyes scanned the forest as she continued to walk, not once letting her guard down. She hated surprises.

As Nalin walked along, he saw something on the ground glint fiercely in the sun. Wondering what it was, he meandered that way. Maybe it was a statue?
No, that couldnt be right. Why would a statue glint? Unless it was made of ice. Nalin thought that would be the best- a statue made of ice. As he got closer, he noticed it looked a lot like a minya- a female minya statue.
But that couldnt be right. He paused a little ways away from her to figure out what he was going to do.

Koorie saw a bush move and groweled a bit, her tail twitching. She didn't like being out in the open, but she really didn't have a choice now, did she. Picking up her pace, she began to walk faster, her tail twitching behind her in an irritated way.

The statue... moved? When then, it wasnt a statue at all! But a minya... a very shiny icy minya. And also female- Nalin could pick out her hair now that he was closer. "Hey wait! Excuse me... Miss?" He called out after her when he noticed she was moving away.
Nalin wanted to speak with her about the mountain and its inhabitants. She had to know something, afterall. She was made of the mountain itself. He couldnt also help but notice that she was pretty too. Really pretty. Nalin hadnt had much experience with girls, so he hoped he wouldnt mess it up somehow.

Koorie visibly winced when she heard the other Minya call out, and a swift glance told her that he was talking to no one but herself. More than slightly irritated, she turned around, her red eyes glaring hard at him.
"What do you want...?" Her voice was cold, and her tail was swishing behind her irritatedly. She may have had the looks, but her attitude was anything but beautiful.

Nalin stopped in his tracks when he heard the sound of her voice. "I... I'm sorry for bothering you. At first I thought you were a statue of some kind... but when I saw you move I figured..." Figuring he wasnt getting anywhere by rambling, Nalin changed his tactics.
"I figured you might be able to help me. I've never been here before and was wondering about the mountain. You know, if you can climb it and that sort of thing." He hoped he hadnt made her too angry.

Koorie stayed silent for a while, sizing up the male Minya. He seemed pretty timid, and she deemed him as not being much of a threat, if any threat at all. Sighing a more to herself, she looked up to the tip. "It's possible to get to the top, though I don't suggest it."
She turned and continued walking, not caring if he followed her or not. What the male did on his time was up to him.

So you could get to the top! It was probably pretty dangerous though, so Nalin almost immediately decided against it. When the other minya started to leave, he was confused at first, and then figured he would follow her. "Thanks. Does anyone live up there?"
He was interested in the mountain. It didnt seem like like anyone could live up on that harsh peak, but maybe something did? "My name is Nalin."

Koorie let out a small sigh; how had she known he would follow after her? Oh well, she was stuck with him now, or at least until he decided to go away or she bit him on the nose.
"As far as I know, no body lives up there. It's too barren and too high of an altitude..." Her tail flicked and she stayed quiet for a few minutes, mentally debating with herself if she should even bother introducing, or just stay silent. Finally she gave in, wondering what the harm would be and knowing she'd probably find out soon enough. "Koorie...."

"I figured as much." Nalin smiled, he was next to the other minya now, just a little bit behind her. He wondered briefly where she was going and if he should really follow her.
"Koorie..." It was an interesting word to pronounce, but not an unpleasant one. "Thats a very pretty name. What does it mean? If you know, that is."

Casting a glance over her shoulder Nalin, Koorie silently wondered how far he was going to be following her. So much for returning home, because she certainly was not going to reveal where she slept at night to anyone.
"The word 'koori' means Ice." She told him, looking forward again.

"Thats rather fitting!" He watched her for a little while as they walked, finally catching on to the fact that he was following a strange girl and had no clue where they were going. Or if he was supposed to be following her at all!
Nalin blushed deeply. "Um, are you leading me somewhere... or am I just being slightly creepy and following you?" He scuffed his paw sheepishly on the white ground.

Koorie smirked to herself, hearing his comment on her name. "You really have no idea...." She wasn't just named after ice, she was ice herself. She was cold and heartless, and she didn't care what others thought. That's what happens when one grows up alone in a hostile environment.
"The second option...." She muttered, answering Nalin's question.

"OmygoshI'msosorry!" Nalin really didnt mean to be creepy! Looking around him, he spotted something in the snow and trotted towards it. Picking it up gingerly in his mouth, he brought it to her and laid it down in front of her.
"Uh, its not much, but I really didnt mean to be creepy! I just havent ever been here before, and dont really know where I am." He was still blushing slightly. It was a sad little flower, a remnant of fall that had somehow survived into the snowfall.
