 Standing on the plains in the open as she was she knew that she would be the first thing spotted by anything within range. The soft blanket of white made a stark contrast against her black coat but the sun seemed warm here and, for the moment, she would follow the warmth. It soaked into her coat as she closed her eyes, heating her body and chasing away the cold.

 It is a splendid day for flying but Xiaodan decided to stay grounded for while to stretch his legs out. A smirk graced his god-like (in his opinion) muzzle as he picks up his pace from leisurely walk to ground-eating trot. Emerging from the thin line of trees, he suddenly balked when he sees a black mare just standing there in the middle of the plains with weird things on her face. He could see the faint glimmer of the gold on Bast's body and he crinkles his nose up slightly at the thought of human things touching his pristine body.
Xiaodan arranged his body into a regal position as he strolled over to the mare, hoping to come off as suave and smooth. "Hello.." He says in regal-like voice.

Her brow lofted slightly beneath the mask she wore, emerald eyes gleaming. She continued to hold perfectly still as he approached her, giving off the appearance of a statue of some sort. Only once he spoke did her tail swish, head tilting slightly to catch a the sun off of her adornments. "... Greetings."

Xiaodan just couldn't take his eyes off the nose ring as he lifts his chin little more higher to give off this proud stallion vibe. "Are you here to show your respects to the god?" He says as he spreads his wings out to either air them out or show them off to Bast. "So... what is your name, little one?" He almost purred the words out, obiviously trying to practice his flirting skills but at same time trying to act all god-like.

"..." She tilted her head higher. "If I am he has not yet come for me to do so, little one." She might have been petite in stature but she knew well enough when she was older than a foolish stallion. There seemed to be age in his body but the wisdom of it was lacking from his eyes. "My name is to be given only to those who would respect it... What is yours, child?"

Xiaodan tries not to look flustered as he stares at Bast with his wings slightly away from his body in defiant manner. "You insulted the god and now you have to pay!" He exclaims in huffy manner as the attitude of this infuriating mare reminds him of a filly he met when he was a colt. He quirks his eyebrow at her when she asked for his name.
"Now.. why should I tell you mine if you wouldn't tell me yours?" He retorted in almost childish manner as he tries his best not to leave in huff like a queen diva since its how he feels right now.

"The God?" Her brow lofted, head tilting to the side so that she could watch him. "Amusing, that you put yourself on a pedestal above others; calling yourself the only when there are many... And why should I believe you to be a god, let alone The God, when all you have are wings and no name... Most 'Gods' have names, you know."

Xiaodan stares at Bast before he huffs once again. "I am not only god around here.. my brother and sister is deities themselves! You can call me Xiaodan.. spread the word that the new god is here to stay." He tries to sound dismissive as he flicks his wing in her direction offhandedly. "Since I gave you my name, may I have yours now?" He eyes the mare with curious expression.
This is second time someone scoffed in his face about him being a god and he would have to admit, it is kinda amusing and eye-opening experience for him. Xiaodan is certainly not ready to give up his delusion about being a god just yet, his mother worked too hard to teach him that he is perfect and wil always be perfect.

"I am Bast and I will do no such thing. It would not be wise to spread tales of false gods when all it will do is anger the true ones." A slight smirk curved the corners of her mouth. "I am surprised that the true gods have not struck out against you. I have heard that they enjoy using lightening bolts to punish blasphemers... Or maybe instead they have sent messengers to tell you of your foolishness so that you may redeem yourself in their eyes."

Xiaodan couldn't help but to huff at Bast while rustling his wings irritably. "What have I been telling you? I am one of the real gods.. thats why I am not dead." He says in dignified manner as he lifts his muzzle up slightly in regal-like manner. "so are you telling me that you are one of the messengers from the 'true ones'? well tell them that I am here to stay and I am not moving!" He exclaims with a stomp of his hoof.

She laughed at his childish display, shaking her head slowly. "Such a silly little boy... Do you really believe the words that you are speaking? That you are one of the most high, as you say? I have never in my time seen such a plain god... Lovely your coat is, yes, but you are unadorned and undignified. A poor god it is that cannot also be humble."

Xiaodan looks at Bast and bristles defiantly. "Being a god doesn't mean I have to be adorned in designs or jewelry...." He trails off as he stares at the nose ring of Bast in disgust. "A god can be very plain yet be very powerful.. appearance is not everything when it comes to being a god." He defiantly says as he stares at Bast. "I am humble.. what are you thinking, mare? I am just accepting the fact that I was born to lead soquilis." He puffs his chest out.

She held her head high for a moment before stepping closer to him, walking a slow circle around him as she spoke. "Most who want to follow a leader are looking for someone that they can respect; someone that they want to follow and can trust to do what is right for the herd... Not someone with an inflated ego. If you were humble you would accept it as a duty, not a right."
That said she paused, smirking. "My name, child, is Bast. Not mare."

Xiaodan stood there in defiant pose while watching Bast circle around him but the words that was spoken by the mare hit him really hard like a wave of icy cold water. What she said is very true and Xiaodan knows it but he doesn't want to admit that she is right and he is wrong. He takes in a deep sigh as he glowers at the mare reluctant. "...You do have a point there." He sourly says as he makes face at Bast. "And I am not a child.. I am Xiaodan. I will appreciate it if you use my name properly and I will use your name." He tries his best not to huff and pout because he hates being wrong.

"Fair enough... Xiaodan." For once she smiled, emerald eyes seeming almost warm and motherly for a moment. "That is the first step, you know... Realizing which path you are being called towards. The second, harder step is going about it the right way. You would not want to be a poor leader, would you?"
