Dad: *mumbling* Wasn't as good as [something] of the Dead... Me: It wasn't very scary, was it? I really have to watch those movies one day. Mum: I thought you'd seen it. Me: ...no. Mum: Remember? We were watching it. Dad: Where they throw records at the zombies. *mimes throwing records* Me: ...isn't that Shaun of the Dead? Mum: Yes... wasn't that what we were talking about? Dad: That's what I said. Me: Oh. sweatdrop I thought you said Dawn of the Dead. Mum: What's Dawn of the Dead? Me: ... Dad: ... huh? Me: ...you're kidding, right? Mum: No. What's Dawn of the Dead? I've never heard of it. Me: Really? Mum: Yes. Me: stressed George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead? Zombi? No? Mum: ...no. Me: gonk Dad, tell her! Dad: ...I haven't heard of it either. Mum: I've heard of Night of the Living Dead, is that it? Me: NO! scream Dawn of the Dead is a famous zombie film! One of the most famous! Part two of Romero's Dead movies, Night of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, something something! How can you not have heard of it?!? Mum: Well... I haven't. Mustn't have been our era, right, honey? Me: It was made in-- Dad: Yep. Me: stare --1974. Dad: Oh. Me: Yes. Dad: Oh.
...that's what's lame. I'm going to have to educate them.

I'm kind of like the media trivialist (Okay, I made that word up, but you understand) of my family. I inform them about movies, actors, and other things that they don't know about.
My siblings and dad know about Shaun of The Dead, but I wouldn't think they know, or give a damn about ,which George Romero zombie film is which.

But how can you understand the pun of Shaun of the Dead without knowing what Dawn of the Dead is called! Arrrrgh!
*runs around banging her head against walls*
Even I'd heard of it before Gorillaz, and it's not even my generation!

My mum saw Dawn of the Dead back when it was X-rated...(I think that was the rating.) That was probably in 1974
...Wait...no...well, she saw it, and she said she was the only one in the theater laughing.
She's great.

lol That's awesome! You're mom rocks.
You'd think that they'd at least know about the remake of Dawn of the Dead. Y'know, the one that's nothing like the original, and there are a bunch of people trapped in a mall.
But, come on! How could you not know Dawn of the Dead!? How could you ever understand the joke "(We're/They're) comming to get you, Barbera!?" Just to clarify that one, there's a scene in Dawn of the Dead where (I think it was) her brother is teasing her, and they're talking about ghosties or somethin' (it's been a while since I've seen the movie, forgive me for those who remember correctly), and he says "They're comming to get you, Barbera!" And in Shawn of the Dead, there's the part where they want to go and get Shawn's mum, and she's sayin' stuff like she doesn't wanna be a bother, and Ed grabs the phone and says, "We're comming ot get you, Barbera!" I love that. xp

Ah, she is! Most of the time, anyway.
Oh! I must have missed that part in Dawn of the Dead, but I remember it in Shaun of the Dead!!
My favourite parts of that movie are the part where they're making fun of that zombie moaning "Dibbidibbidididi..."(or however it goes)
And the scene in the Winchester when Queen starts playing!!
