Okay, so sorry I'm late... I did manage to catch the majority of the episode on TV, but I missed the first 5 minutes due to shopping. NOT MY FAULT. Dx I just watched the first 5 minutes, so I now feel I am fully prepped to discuss it.

I'm not sure if I liked or disliked it.

I did like the Zuko-Aang interaction... even if it was weird as hell at first. It was like, "Why are they talking? WHY ARE THEY TALKING?! THEY'RE WORKING TOGETHER, AAAAAUGH!" But then it slowly slid into, "Okay, this is kinda cool."

Zuko seems to have developed brains. o___O Truly, a strange concept.

I LOVED TOPH'S FLASHBACK. Oh my gosh. AWESOME. (I turned on my TV just as that was starting.) She is SO dang cute. It's also interesting to note that even at an early age, Toph wanted freedom.

I also liked the dragons, if for the absolute ******** coolness if nothing else.

Katara's bitchiness made me giggle.

I DISLIKED the lack of Toph and Sokka. Not necessarily together, just in general. They were in the first 5 minutes, and then BAM! Gone. Zuko and Aang just aren't as cool.

I also disliked the general plot. I found it... boring, I guess.

Another thing that bugged me was that there was no Suki, Ursa, Iroh, Mai, Azula, or Ty Lee. Go to ANOTHER aspect of the story! Get away from the Gaang!

Zuko going, "PREEEETTY COLOUUUUURS," was slightly... odd. As in, "Whaaat the ******** Zuko..."

One thing that I'm sort of teetering on is whether I like the Sokka-Zuko interaction or not. I think I was kind of hoping for a false aggression than just simple teasing.

Anyone else notice the whole blue dragon, red dragon thing? ^^ My sister was watching it with me, and she hasn't seen much of Avatar, and SHE picked up on it. She's like, "Hey, didn't Zuko have an acid-trip dream with those two...?"

The Sun Warriors reminded me of the Aztecs.

Funniest moment of the entire show: Aang airbending at Zuko to try and unstick him from the grate, only to have him flop over to the other side.

So, um, yeah, not a whole lot to go on from this episode... Aang can firebend and so can Zuko, yay.

Over all i liked it(And I Blame you for geting me to watch downloaded avatar -_- so I both thank and hate you for it>_<) I did enjoy how Zuko and Aang interatced but the lack of Toph and Sokka was sadning, And where is Azula!? I'm afrined that once she comes back she'll have a burn to show her dishoner or something! adn Azula with a scare dose not = the sexy crying I need to them other confirm it for me or correct my frears crying .Over all the ep was alright nothing great, and if you missed it you only missed...i know now maybe like 1/2 inportant eps. tho Zuko not bieng able to firebending was rather funny and I dont know if you got to see it or not but I like the nick name "Sifu Hotman" xd

I thought the episode was good but not great. The last 5 minutes or so, while enlightening, did seem a little disney-esque. During the Color Fire Tornado I kept thinking "Whoa, the colors man...." (Think in a hippie voice)

I agree with L-G-Kakashi, the funniest moment was Zuko getting slammed against the grate a second time. xd

Well no Tokka or Taang moments in this episode so I'll move on to Toko (though that too was pretty minor). Toph was giving suggestions on how Zuko could help his fire bender. Even when Sokka threw a joke out there, she didn't go along with it.
(Wow, this episode was not good for a shipper)

I liked the scene near the end when Aang and Zuko were dancing with the dragons. I liked how their movements were similar to the dragons in the background.

I also remembered the double dragon dream Zuko had. I was almost waiting from the dragons to speak to Zuko or at least have the blue one snap at him.

Baby Toph was cute.

It was weird to see Katara so... snippy.

Random thing I just thought of. Did Aang get his staff back after they got out of the trap?
PostPosted: Sat Jan 05, 2008 2:23 pm

Negi: Oh yeah! I forgot about the staff. At the time I was like, "Damnit, another one gone!! And The Mechanist is in prison!"

I knowww. Absolutely no shipping whatsoever. Well, maybe the Zuko VS Katara things could be interpreted as either Kataang or Zutara... and the crazy people who ship Zukaang got an awesome episode. xD (The head of my Writer's Club is an adamant Zukaang shipper.) But, yeah, no Tokka or Taang. NEXT TIME, NEGI. NEEEEXT TIIIIIME...

Mmm, yeah, the dragon dance was awesome. My sister (I mentioned that she watched with me), who is generally skeptical of Avatar, was like, "...Okay, that's cool."

It was ******** to see Katara so snippy. The anti-Zutarian (as in, against rabid Zutarians, but not the ship itself) in me was ROFLMAO'ing.

Kakashi: Hey, you'd have to wait a minimum of two more weeks to see 313 in the US, and that's only if 312 aired next week. (Yet another reason why Canada rocks.)

Why would she have a burn? o.o Ozai LOVES the chick. He probably faps off to her. Yes, I know she's his daughter. HE'S CRAZY. I sinceeeerely doubt he would give her a scar.

In fact, yeah, why would he?! She did her job perfectly. She distracted the Avatar whilst Ozai hid away in his hole, perfectly safe.

Well remeber how he reacted to finding out that the avatar was still alive and taht Azula had lieded to him? He seems rather up set and we all know Ozai Up set is not a good things for his kids(You know I said trying to make it funny...but...I relly dint come out wrong now I feel all dirty for saying it crying )I think theres a chance, did you see where Aang called Zuko Sifu Hotman? I loved it>_<

Also, I think Canada getnig it is not a cool thing-_- jsut another thing canada can hold over are heads...like...them selfs(Bad joke....I'm full of them)

I completely forgot something.

Did anyone else think of DBZ's Fusion Technique at the end of the Dragon Dance?

I did! I did! It was hilarious the first time I saw it because my friend and I were saying "Fusion, ha!" as how Trunks and Goten says.

Anyway, next week Canada is airing another new episode, right? *sigh* oh well, I'm just glad we have the internet biggrin

Just a thought, how many cultures have we seen in the whole series? I know with this last one the Aztecs were definitely added to the list.

Was I the only one who thought they did some major retconning and not like it? I mean, originally Earth and Air learned from animals, but Water and Fire learned from CELESTIAL BODIES! Are they going to invent some sort of giant fish and say they taught Waterbenders after saying the first benders learned from watching the Moon affecting the Ocean? Seriously, the general guy who started teaching Aang said the first benders learned from the sun, right?

But the return of Zuko's acid-trip dream dragons was cool and I love ancient Mezo-American stuffs so they're forgiven. ^^

No, no one really said what or who the original Fire Benders were. I remember because we had a lot of threads in the past during the second season theorizing where the Fire Benders first learned it.
A lot of people thought the Sun was a possibility as well as Volcanoes/Lava.
