Can anybody really define Nu Metal? I mean, is it really a genre? It really seems more like an excuse to categorize "strange" metal. Bands like System or Korn, and other bands with indescribable sounds. Admittedly, those are the only bands I know that've ever been labeled "Nu Metal" >.> Regardless; Nu Metal; what is it? What makes a song Nu-esque? Pink lemonade?

Honestly I haven't heard bands like Korn be called Nu Metal but I suppose that the way I choose to describe Nu metal is Old metal in a car compact. mrgreen But really the only way I can think a song becomes "Nu" is if it has enough power chords and if the band can make it further than a few songs for top hits. I always thought of Nu Metal as metal with, like, a kind of all-ranging influence. Like metal, but not like metal, ya? Get what I'm saying?
Ellathea~ Listen to these bands, one after another; Black Sabbath Led Zepplin Metallica System of a Down Judas Priest
That should clear up your fuzzy ear to metal.
