okay, I am in grade 11 university english and I have two essays due monday one I havent even started the other I need help with
will everyone proof-read what I have so far? please?
Edgar Allen Poe has written many stories which have gothic terms. His preference is that of the dark literature and among his stories are the element of death, which is imminent to all the characters. He uses literary gothic terms to portray the story in his views that he intended for the short stories to have. There are many short stories that Poe has written which have excessive amounts of gothic terms. Black cat, which has terms like Omens and supernatural events, is used as an example of gothic literature in schools. Two other stories which have similar situations in it are, the pit and the pendulm and the tell-tale heart. The Black cat has gothic literary terms through out the short story to help Poe create confusion and suspense for the reader. The story is about a man who claims that his cat is evil and then kills his wife in result of trying to kill the black cat. There are a few major gothic literary terms in it that help create the spooky aura for a good short story. "These events have terrified--have tortured--have destroyed me." Even in the beginning of the story, the narrator discusses while in his last 24 hours of life, how his previous events in life had impact in a spooky and negative way. That would be ___________ in literary gothic terms

Even in the beginning of the story, the narrator discusses while in his last 24 hours of life how his previous events in life had impact in a spooky and negative way. That would be foreshadowing, perhaps? in literary gothic terms.
these are just some simple spelling and grammatical errors i picked out. (w00t for english minors!) everything looks pretty solid so far. if you need any help, be sure to let me know. i love writing essays. i'm kind of a dork. X3

I'm so bad at writing essays. It's not even funny. The most frustrating part was the citing sources. It made me want to quite from the beginning. I never knew how to correctly cite the information and even when I wrote what I thought to be my own ideas I was being accused of plagiarism and receiving bad grades. mad
Thed, I'm so bringing my next essay to you for help. Well, most likely just my English essays. If I brought you all my history essays you'd start hiding from me. sweatdrop

(being accused of plagarism is why i flunked out of my honors english class in high school. crying )

REIN _ KOOMIAK xD... I am a nerd too... I just wish that I could proofread... at all. ~_~the funny thing is, proofreading is my favorite part of writing. i proofread all my friends' papers. my best friend is at college two hours away, and she sometimes e-mails me her papers to look over. XD the thing that really frustrates me is that i go to a low-standard community college. english classes always kill me. i put so much effort into fixing someone's paper, and i get mine back with no corrections. just something like "good job." thanks. really helpful. x_X tammi: that's awful! you should really talk to your parents about that. you need a good word program to survive high school, and especially college. and if any of you guys ever need help on papers, just post it. i'll do my best to help. ^^

I'm too lazy to go back and edit "quite". xD
Thank you Rein and Thed! When I was writing papers last year the teacher gave me a site to help me with with citing sources, but for some reason I still was citing them the right way...I don't no what I was doing wrong, but it was wrong. So, hopefully I'll catch on with these cites.
@Thed: That sucks. It's not fair to us, when we write something that we thought up, but someone else just happened to have thought of it first, to be accused of stealing that person's idea. mad
