Herds are very Important to the horses survival.
Those that seek the comfort and security of a herd will require a Herd Post to keep track of ranks and members. This topic here will help you create a herd of your own and you MUST follow its rules or risk your herd being disbanded.

Rules
Herds must have a male and female leader and at least three other members. These members can be friends, offspring etc.
Once your herd is formed you can recruit new members. Although, you must keep track of them yourself.

Ranks
It's up to you what ranks to give out but some good ones to include would be:
Matriarch (female)
Leader (male)
The leaders of the herd.
Heiress (female)
Heir (male)
The future leaders of the herd.
Nanny (male or female)
Offspring baby sitters.
Scout (male or female)
They scan the area for food, danger and anything else.
Defender (male or female)
They protect the herd.
Youth (male or female)
Offspring
Member (male or female)
no one of great importance they're just in the herd.

Pricing
It costs nothing to make a herd, to get members etc.
But if you want any special banners or cert or maybe an item there will be a price. anything you can make yourself will have no charge. But items will not be permitted to be made or will certs.
Banner: 500g (small), 1k (big).
Cert: 5k then the 1k recerting for the members who want it.
Item: varies from 1k-15k per pet. (recert cost for these will not be charged, and item design will not become an extra cost)
Special fonts etc for certs will vary from 500g+

Any species is permitted, except Novas, since they're aquatic and that's a trifle illogical when they can't stay with the rest of the herd for longer than an hour. Unofficial Nova members are still welcome, though. heart About: The Sunflare herd is formed mostly around those who know the stallions, Lughnasadh and Istalindir. Lughnasadh had a dream he shared with his daughter, Sunniva, of starting a herd, and met Ista and Regina, who were also interested in starting a herd. Ista brought Mitsumino, and Sangrya joined of her own accord. If more specifics are needed, I'll work them out. 3nodding Territory: Western hills, by the sea, with some local woodland. Herd name: Shadow Herd Leader: KalidaHerd Leader: MolochSpecies Restriction?: No nova; this is very much a land based herd. About: Moloch runs the herd with an iron hoof, and demands the absolute loyalty of all who follow him. That being said, he has relatively few demands, and is mainly interested in power and expanding his territory, especially as the herd expands. He is, in effect, building a small army, minus most of the organization of his army. Kalida is his advisor in all things, and together they have mighty plans. This herd is somewhat blood thirsty and violent, definitely not for the faint of heart! Territory: A forest to the east of the Sunflare herd. (Ooh, plottage!)

Species Restriction: Yes; pure Novas are not accepted right now due to logistical issues.
About: Fallen are welcome to come and go from the Earth Song's territories, and herd members are under no obligations to remain members, so long as a small handful of rules are obeyed. Individual members may have whatever affiliation that they wish, but they may not try and pressure others into joining them because Earth Song is officially a "neutral" herd.
Territory: Currently Earth Song has only one small territory: a flat patch of forest between a stream and the base of some rocky hills.

Herd name: Dreamer's Glass Herd Leader: HelkiHerd Leader: - There isn't one yet. Helki is capable without a male - Species Restriction?: Novas. There isn't really a place for them. About: Helki was born and raised in the valley. She bore all her children there as well. So any of her offspring can find their way home. Currently the only others in the valley with her are two of her sons; Cygnus and Anu, and Fea. Til she finds a lifemate, Helki freely mates with worthy males to spread her progeny. All her offspring, and their families are welcome into the valley. It is highly important that relations and herd members are the only ones to know the whereabouts of the valley. Territory: A secluded tropical valley that is the only location of a certain rare crystal. Only members know the way in. New comers tend to be brought in by a member.

Herd name: Tir Na nOg Herd Leader: ArawnHerd Leader: (female link) will probably be IsabellSpecies Restriction?: Yes - Nova only About: The usual life for a nova is very lonely, solitary swimming in open waters. King Arawn was tired of being alone so he came down from the cold water of the North in hopes of forming a herd in the warmer waters. A place where any Nova tired of living there reclusive life and seeking companionship can live safely. He is a born leader and is quiet friendly so swim by and visit him and the founding members he has found to join the herd- Xihuitl, Cassiopeia, Ozean, Kirlia, Ruth and Kim Territory: An underwater cave and the surrounding water all the way to the steep cliffs of the mainland. The waters are full of brightly colored fish and coral. Nova's that prefer the open saltwater to the freshwater rivers will find this herd very welcoming ON HOLD UNTIL YOU GET AT LEAST THREE MORE NOVAE.

Their traditions closely follow the Moon. However, light in all forms are also revered. Some of their traditions and beliefs are linked to old Pagan beliefs, while others are unique to them. Members of the Moonlight are sometimes outcasts from other herds, or those who don't feel they belong. Here in the Moonlight all are welcome as long as no harm comes to others and traditions are observed. Instead of being a close-knit herd, the Moonlight is mostly comprised of individuals who come together on their like-minded thinking. Territory: The Moonlight land is a place of magic and the supernatural. It is surrounded by a forest of white trees whose leaves shine gold and silver in the light. The land is self sustaining with both mountains and rivers. Rumors of fairies and other fae creatures haunt these lands, perhaps even creatures of darkness. Because of this not many travel this way.
