Earlier today, I wrote and posted a note on Facebook that listed my New Years Resolutions. One of them was to not buy anymore books until I am finished reading the ones I have bought from this 2007 year. Hopefully this will encourage me to read close to as much as I used to, plus it will save me a little bit of money until I am actually ready to buy books again, haha.
So Goddesses, are any of you addicted to buying books? If so, what are some that you've bought recently and have yet to read?
My List:
By Stephen King: It (currently reading) Dreamcatcher Carrie
By Christine Feehan like, five of her paranormal romance novels. I've read the first four in her "Dark" series and have four more sitting on my bookshelf.
"Marie Antoinette-The Journey" by Antonia Fraser. This one is very interesting although I have to be in the right mood for reading this one.
"Stanger in a Strange Land" by Robert Heinlin. I NEED to finish reading this one!

I'm really addicted to buying books, but I don't have a job at the moment, so i don't have to worry about that right now.
I have been mostly re-reading what I own....but I bought:'the golden book of faerie' by o.r. melling, in the summer which i haven't read yet. well, its really a quartet series in one book, and i read the first three separately.the fourth i can't find separately...and in my retarded sense of things, i can't read the quartet until i find and read the forth book separately.lol.
I got : 'the alchemist' by micheal scott as a Christmas gift to read also. (its the book mentioned on gaia.the one that became a gaia item.lol.)

Ooo...I get like that sometimes with books if I can't find a specific book.
Also, sometimes if there is a series of books that don't particularly go in any order, I always have to read them in order of when they were written.

The one benifit of my reading disability is I get to pay a flat rate of 50$ a year and have unlimited downloads from bookshare.org. (its great cause this way i dont have to scan them into the computer myself.)
If ya'll like fantasy genra you should check out Terry Goodkind's Sword of truth series.

Vix_Punk i can honestly say i dont have an addiction to buying books. i go to the libary and get them..thats cause im poor. *sigh* No worries, Vix. I love reading from the library. You get to try out books, and if they are crap, you didn't pay money for them. @katherdante: I thought the first two were great and the third a lot slower.I think the series shouldn't drag on so long. How many books are there?12?15?It was a good concept for sure, but he should have condensed some of it.

Hello ^^ Long time, no posty...
That's a good idea, I've been wanting to get back into reading and started with the sword of truth series. I just finished book 4 today and need to find book 5, but I'm determined to read all I can. I've been wanting to pick up the wheel of time again, but I know if I do that then I'll end up dropping the sword of truth entirely for it. I don't want that so I"m resisting temptation to read anything but the sword of truth

Not only am I addicted to buying books, I work in a bookstore, which makes it very easy for me to find more to buy. In my reading pile at the moment: Roald Dahl, Kiss Kiss Germaine Greer, the Female Eunuch and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.
Also, I have to compulsively recommend these books: Anything written by Robin Hobb, but specifically the Assassins apprentice trilogy; and the Dark Tower, by Stephen King.
