A skin paled mare wondered slowly down near a small teepee. She seemed to be waiting for someone. If one looked at her, they wouldn't realize the enormous belly that was being hidden from her strange cloths. The mare was rather pleased, yet also had a confused look upon her face. She'd move a bit from discomfort from the movement of what was with in her belly.
Unsure of the reaction of the little one, Aeris set out to look for Xantir. He was gone to find his little friend when she asked him to do. He asked why but she said she would tell only when the four of them were together. The air was cold, and there was traces of snow here and there.
Winter was her favorite season. It was so great to play in the snow, and the forest looked so different everydays. And now that she was expecting soon, she hoped that her new additions would like it too. Her mind soon switched over to how Xantir would react to becoming a father and how Amal would accept the new. Would they be happy?

"Why did you have to come an' get me for again?" The black lioness asked batting at a snow covered branch from Xantir's back. She liked riding on him because then she didn't get her paws wet. In fact not getting wet was the whole reason why she had been hiding in the forest, under the trees there was no snow. Xantir shivered a little as a few splats of snow fell on his lightly colored back. He was not fond of the cold because he did not have a thick winter coat like many of the other horses. He gave his friend a look to let her know not to drop any more snow on him. "I already told you Amal. I do not know. Aeris simply told me to come get you and that she would let us know her little secret once the four of us were together again." He glanced back at her but she didn't seem to be too happy with that answer. To be honest he wasn't to happy with it either.
Aeris had been acting a bit strangely lately. Happier then normal. It was a good thing but it also worried his paranoid mind. What if she had just been pretending to be happy? What if someone close to her had died? What if someone close to him and Amal had died and she, for some reason, had been the first to find out? What if...what if...what if. What if she was heading his way?
"Aeris!" he called, panic in his voice, as he raced to her side not caring that Amal was shouting for him to slow down from his back. "Aeris are you all right?! Did something bad happen? Is that what this is all about?" His worry showed in his bright as as they darted about like there would be some clue right in front of him.

Reno smiled at Amal. He actually already knew what it was about. Aeris didn't told him but it was so easy to guess, even if it was not easy to see it with the clothes. He was with her all the time, he would see it for sure. But he would not tell anyone because he knew it must be Aeris job.
The mare smiled, her feelings are all goods because if the babies. She laughed when Xantir started to run towards her and asked some question, still the same, it was the side of him she liked for sure. "Nothing bad happen, actually it's a really good new and i'm really good too. You want to sit you too ? I will tell you everything".

Amal eyed Reno curiously. She didn't know much about the raccoon as he mostly stayed with Aeris while she preferred to roam but that smile hinted that he knew something. Something she didn't. She wasn't about to stand for this. With elegance that only a feline could accomplish she sprang from Xantir's back landing a few inches in front of the raccoon miracoulously only sinking a few inches into the snow. "You know something don't you?" She asked in a whisper completely ignoring what the horse above her were doing. "What is it?"
Xantir looked a bit confused but he calmly took a seat in the cold snow. "It's good?" His voice sounded a bit like a newborn pup, squeaky and high pitched. He knew he was over reacting but he had been so afraid that the news was bad that even hearing that it was good wasn't helping his nerves. "Well...what is it...?"

Reno gave a smirk toward Amal. "I will not tell, listen to Aeris, i think it will make you happy too." well he actually hoped it will like Aeris.
Aeris smiled amused. Xantir was already stressed she thought it would not be good to make him wait longer. "Xantir, Amal, i want to announce you that the family will be bigger very soon."

Amal lifted her paw to bat the raccoon's nose in annoyance when Aeris spoke. She paused then started grinning very much like her bobcat cousin. "So that's it then is it Reno?" She asked laughter in her voice as she eyed Aeris' belly. Granted she couldn't see anything past the clothes she wore but she could put two and two together. A 'bigger family' that is exactly what her mother had told her before she delivered another litter of kittens. So that meant...she smiled turning her focus to her friend. Xantir was the dad...that or Aeris had a big secret. Amal found it safe to assume that Xantir was in fact the dad, she didn't pin the pink one as one of those mares.
Electric green eyes blinked a few times before they started shifting looking from cat, to raccoon, to mare. He didn't get it. "Aeris...what do you mean the family's going to be growing?"
Amal fell over. She new that he could be a bit dense sometimes but this was ridiculous. "She's pregnant Xanny!" She said bluntly getting back to her feet.
Xantir's jaw dropped.

Reno laughed. Really Amal was smart, she guessed what is it really quickly. He winked to her. "So, Happy ?"
Aeris couldn't restrained a laugh too. Amal understood quicker than Xantir. "You're dad Xantir, we will have childrens. I hope you're happy you too." She nuzzled him softly. She already loved her childs, so she was always in happy mood. "They will be here really soon, you need to be prepared."

Amal nodded and puffed her chest out the way a proud lion should. "Of course I am. I get to help raise a horse the way it should be raised. Like a lion." This truly was exciting. She could teach the kid how to hunt, and pounce, and teach it to be stealthy and brave, and how to roar and growl! Yeah! She could teach the kid to growl! That would be awesome.
Xantir was still in mild, well, extreme shock. He was a dad. He knew that they had talked about it and well they had...but he hadn't really expected. "I'm a dad? Soon?" His mouth was dry and at first glance one would think he was scared but the dazed twinkle in his eye told a different story.
A great grin slowly spread across his face and he stood. "I'm going to be a dad!" He looked down at Amal then to Reno and finally to Aeris feeling a great joy washing over him. He was going to have kids. Not just kids, but children with Aeris. And soon. His kids with Aeris were going to be born soon.
Wait.
"You're okay right?!" He asked his usually panic taking reign again. "They aren't hurting you are they? They aren't going to hurt you are they? You'll be alright right?"

Reno looked Amal with a strange look. "You know they will not be lion right ? Don't afraid them". He giggled, imagining the foal following the little lioness throught the forest to hunt.
Aeris smiled, a real smile full of mother love. "I have never be better dear, they are calm in my belly don't worry. I hope there will look like you a lot".

"Yeah, I know. They'll be horses which'll make them twice as good since they'll be bigger!" She said not quite getting what the raccoon was talking about. "So I'll teach them to hunt and growl and stuff...and you're a raccoon. What are you gonna teach em? Do you even know anything useful?"
Xantir let out a huge sigh of relief. She was okay. That was good. It didn't completely ease his worried mind but it helped. The worst was yet to come. He may have left his old home at a young age but he still knew where children came from and what the mothers had to go through so the foals could live. "So...how soon...do you think soon is?" He asked preparing himself for what he considered his duty. He would stay up most of the night every night until he was certain Aeris and the children would at least be okay to run if they needed to.

Reno thought about it. "I don't know, i can teach them which berries are good to be eat or not." He was not sure about what things he could teach to the foal, it was actually the parents work to teach them things, he never had a family before.
Aeris decided it would be better if she sat. Like this Xantir would not worry to much if she was in the calm. "I don't know, few days i think. But don't worry the shaman will take care of everything and put them in sweet basket after they are born. You will be able to help him if you want i'm sure."

"Berries?" She laughed merrily her tail flicking back and forth. She felt a little bad laughing at him like that because she could tell her was serious. It was just so funny, though. "Reno you're silly! Everyone know horses don't eat berries. They only eat sugar cubes and apples!"
"Shaman?" He blinked a little bit almost completely unknowing of the humans impact on foal birthing. All he had known was that at some point the foals were moved from their mother and into baskets until they grew strong. He hadn't known when or who had done this. "I think...I will let the shaman do their job. I will watch and make sure he does nothing to harm the foals." He glanced down at the spikes on his legs. He didn't want to use them but he knew no two-legger would be willing to move much after getting stabbed by one. If the shaman was doing anything to hurt Aeris or his soon to be children then the shaman would be in pain.

"Of course they do" just said Reno, well he didn't know if all the soquili ate berries but he knew Aeris and her friend like to eat fruits, and berries. Maybe because they were all the time in the forest to play.
She nuzzled Xantir softly. "Yes there will be a two-legged, called shaman, who will help me and put our little one in safe basket. After we will bring them back to the house and we will wait they are strong enough to go out." She started to feel a little tired even if it was not night. She guessed it was because of the babies.

Amal gasped bouncing backwards, eyes wide as saucers. "They do?!" She asked wide eyed. "No way! I thought only birds and squirrels and little things ate berries! Not horses!!!"
"So...there is no chance he will hurt them?" He asked looking at Aeris closely still trying to see her pregnant belly. He couldn't seem to see it past her clothes though. He'd seen Luna pregnant once but Aeris hid it much better then his friend. His eyes shifted and he found himself looking into deep green eyes. They weren't there normal sparkling self and it was enough to set off a red alert in his mind.
"Are you okay?" He asked nuzzling her neck gently checking for spots of blood or wounds that might be causing the look in her eye. "You look so tired all of a sudden..."

Reno laughed, Amal was really funny. "Well berries are fruits, soquili eat apple why not berries ? Or maybe the girls i live with are strange" "No chance he will hurt them, he was the one in charge here so he knows what to do." She closed her eyes a little, she knew he would panicked. "I'm ok Xanny" she had a little smirked, this usermane really amused her. "I'm just a little tired, i need energy for much than myself so i get tired much quickly."
