This has been something i've been trying to figure out for a while....do dreams (some or all or none) have meanings to them? Because some of the ones i get seem to have a hidden purpose of somesort while others don't.
Example: I was cooking and eating these smoores that we eat at Girls Camp with Saix and Luxord (KH2 characters...they're in my sig). Before they could even bite into it, my Young Woman's teacher comes running in and flipping out. "WHAT ARE THEY DOING?!?!??!?" "they're eatting smoores..." "WHAT!?!?!?!?!? THE SMOORES WE EAT AT CAMP!?!?!?!??" "well...they've never had smoores..." "THAT IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!" then she takes the smoores from both them and runs off. I was mostly shocked that they let her take it with no punishment.

It seems like there could be a meaning but yet it could be random.....does anyone else have opinion on dreams or like to share their dream?

The only meaning my dreams have had is when they've been premonitions. And even then I don't realize they were premonitions until they actually happened.

There were the dreams that Joseph interpreted for the Pharoah in Egypt, the jailer, and Potiphar.
There were the dreams that Daniel interpreted for Nebuchadnezzar.

I think there are dreams that can be (1)prophetic -(2) some that are our minds puzzling out fears, worries, or unprocessed information - (3) some that are related to our own biology (influenced by hormones, etc. like flying and falling) - (4)and some that are just plain crazy (like our subconscious might have a sense of humor?) but I think that it is the time we spend when we are studying, praying, fasting, reading scriptures, and otherwise surrounding ourselves with good influences that we can get the most inspiration - and be ready for understanding what may come into our lives (including if our dreams should mean something special)

My opinion only redface - not doctrine - you understand. Good luck with understanding and using the information for good in your life!

I think that the majority are born from the random guck in our minds, from experiance and such. Though some are premonitions, and some ,I beleive, do come from Heavenly Father. Figuring out which is which... good luck.

I agree, some dreams have meanings, and some are just your brain taking a break from any actual thinking and making up gibberish. That's part of why we sleep, so our brains don't overload from all the so called logic that the world throws at us. It gives our brains a chance to play. Or something...

They also may show things that you are worried about that you didn't think you were worried about. Like a few nights ago I had several consecutive dreams when I was going to school, at school, or trying to find my classes, but couldn't. That said to me that I was either worried about school, or ready for it to start. (It starts on Monday, and part of me is more than ready for it to start so I can get one of my classes figured out 'cause they canceled one of my classes, and that was the one class that I was looking forward to this quarter. Not happy with them, not happy at all...)

Any way, enough of my rambling.

I have had experiences where after something happened, I think my dream I had not long before somehow hinted to what might happen.
It could be coincidence but maybe not. Then when you consider nightmares, well they are probably just showing us our own fears.
I don't know, the one dream that I mentioned above was on a bad subject to have a dream on so... Dunno question

Likewise.

An important note about this is that you cannot receive revelation for any other individual unless you are called to do so. The last guy I was dating started supposedly having dreams about President Hinkley telling him things about me, and my future. These dreams are false revelation, because he has no stewardship over me.

dreams also show us the extent of our imagination.

Some dreams might have meanings, but I usually don't worry about it unless I am dreaming about swimming.........

How could you not get that? Ya know the whole wetting the bed thing? How people often dream about swimming or being wet in general, then wake up to find that they have in fact wet the bed? Supposedly this is how it usually works. I can't really say that from experience though since the only time I remember wetting the bed was when I was really really small, and in my dream I was actually flying, and while flying decided to take a pee, then I woke up to find that I really did take a pee. But apparently that is not how it usually happens.
Anyways...wasted joke lol.

Interpretations of dreams would probably be based on the person... 1 dream I had was that I was being killed by vampires in my room, so i tried to jump out the window in real life eek scary hate those kind of dreams lol

I've never had a dream that was a premonition of the future persay, but I've had dreams where I recieved an answer to pray through them. A couple of times when I've been struggling with an issue in my life the answer to my problem will occur to me through a dream. It's almost funny because I'll be worried about something for weeks or even months and then suddenly I'll wake up in the morning and know what the solution is because I dreamed it that night. weird huh?
