Okay, so have you guys heard of a book called 'Twilight'? It's really popular where I live, and it's my best friend's FAVORITE book. She got it for me for Christmas, and I still can't see what's so great about it. I haven't read very far, but I can tell where it's going and I have a slight fear that it might break my brain burning_eyes
Today, my friend asked me if I could read the SECOND book too.
Can someone please explain why this book has hypnotized so many innocent souls?
p.s. if you happen to be a Twilight fan, I hope this didn't offend you, I'm just trying to figure out why it's so popular.

I think the idea of the book is better than the actual book. I mean what girl wouldn't want to read about a love affair between a young girl and a hot vampire boy? Especially since Edward has super powers and is always saving Isabella. I think the writing and plot development is just very immature, I almost felt like I was reading one of R.L. Stein's Fear Street novels, lol.
I didn't see what the hub-bub about the book was either. Lets see how the movie does.

i haven't read twilight or eclipse yet. all my friends say it's such an awesome book, but with my past experiences of people raving about books, i don't really believe them. [i.e. artemis fowl. it was terrible. D:]

I read Twilight. It is a pretty good book, but you get over the... adiction? (The part where everyone is obsessed). It's sort of like a spur of the moment. And personally, I think the movie is going to be bad.

All book movies are pretty much bad. D:
I read the book, it was...okay. D: I don't get it. But then again, I'm unlike most girls, because I'm actually partially realistic about things. >.<
But, I do want to pretend to be an obsessed fan girl of Twilight and call my movie theaters now to reserve tickets. xD
That would be freaking AWESOME. xD

WHAT? How can you NOT be addicted to Twilight. I adore it ...I guess I sympathize with the characters a little better scream
(I like Artemis Fowl razz )
If you don't like it...I recommend reading Shadow in the Wind..it's translated from Spanish and the suspense/mystery will keep thee on your pointy feet.

Oh boy. Twilight. Supposedly the best book in the universe. (sorry about the sarcasm to those of you who like the book, I'm just tired of hearing about it). It seems like everyone is always talking about it! A month or so ago I got it out from the library and COULD NOT STAND IT. I don't think I got past the third chapter... It's just so... I don't know, like every other book these days? Plus, I don't like romances. stare Sorry about the hating, I didn't mean too. redface

Okay, I love romance, fantasy, and magic. I should have loved this book. One of my friends thought I would. She's obsessed with it, and normally we like the same things. She bugged me about checking into it until I [reluctantly] agreed to check it out at the bookstore. I didn't like it at all. I read like the first fifty pages of it and I just could not get into it. It's strange, because Isabella seems like someone I could normally identify with. But the writing style seemed to be very... awkward. I just don't understand why people think this book is so fabulous. It didn't attract me at all. I like the concept, but I don't think Stephanie Meyer pulled it off the way everyone claims she did. There's a roughness or, I dunno, unnaturalness about her writing that seemed very uneasy. I did go into it with an open mind, and I tried to like it, but... *shrugs*

I think it might have something to do with the fact that it involves vampires. :/ Vampires are so overrated and overused. And then the romance...
It's just pretty, eh. D: I don't know if it's that everybody likes it (I tend to like things others hate, hate things others like...) or that it's just, bad. :/
It's bad. I dunno, it's just, meh-ish. And it is written pretty awkwardly. And there's stuff in there that's insignificant. :/
I'm just going to say it wasn't my favorite. >.>

I thought it was pretty good. I read all three, and I can't wait to see the movie, even though it'll probably be ruined.
Buuuut. Edward is supposed to be played by the guy who plays Cedric. -drools-

I haven't read it, but it sure seems like everyone else on the planet has. >>
I dunno. I really hate romance books/movies. But i love vampires. But i hate vampire books, cause they always seem so corny, like "LULZIBITEYOUYOUBITEMEWEHAVEKINKYVAMPIRESEXTHEEND" =_= I think you know the kind. They also come in witch and werewolf varieties. And i can't stand that. Give me Anne Rice any day.
I also don't like teenage books. I've never read one, but they seem so... Trivial. Shallow. neutral I dunno.
But, i think i'll read Twilight just to see what the hell all the fuss is about.

Okay, I've managed to get myself to chapter 10 - and yes, as I feared - my brain has been broken ;( and three two days before school starts! That sucks crying Quote: WHAT? How can you NOT be addicted to Twilight. I adore it ...I guess I sympathize with the characters a little better ....*twitch twitch* I think the movie will be better then the book, and I disagree with Miss Kitty Kat, I would be a girl who doesn't want to read about a love affair like that. I don't 'dig' romance and 'chick-lits'. Oh, that reminds me, my best friend wants me to read ALL the books. I'm going to have to, because after all, she IS my best friend and I ASSUME this means a lot to her stare it being her favorite book and all that.... Maybe I should make her read MY favorite book? Last Town on Earth whee so wonderful~

Honestly I liked the book but you know each person has their own tastes in what kind of romance or fantasy. I actually love almost all kinds of genres and types of writing so i wasn't so picky. Usually though i would see the movie that went with the book but this one im not to sure of.
Just like the series The Golden Compass there is now a movie and the same went for Stardust. I don't think I'll go see them since its not the same feeling you get when you read the book.
(Sorry all if i insulted any of you but thats just how i view it. I dont lie i just tell it like it is)
