His wanderings had brought him back to the spot where he'd walked away from his sister. It seemed only right that he should return to this spot... Only right that he come back here since she was the one responsible for what had happened. Had she not interrupted what had been a perfectly innocent encounter he would have parted ways with the petite mare and her father never would have known about it. The last thing he had wanted to do was cause trouble... Well, in that instance, at least.
He snorted, tossing his head back as his flames flickered higher, reacting to his mood. He had been told not to go near her again... A challenge, of sorts. He would have to find her at least once more if only so that he could apologize. That was only right, after all.

She watched from the patch of shadows that she'd found, knowing well enough that her brother would be back. If there was one thing that she had learned from watching him grow up it was that he was not good at letting things go. He would have words with her and they would, most likely, be unpleasant ones.
She was looking forward to it.
A grin tugged at the corners of her mouth as she saw his flames leap higher, her own dancing in response as she emerged from the darkness surrounding her, stepping closer to her sibling. "What's wrong, Pyre? You seem upset."

His brow lofted as a wry grin curved his mouth, head tilting enough that gleaming eyes could land on his older sibling. "I do, do I? Why, Ember, I don't know why I would be upset, do you?" He took a step towards her, instinct telling him that if he was going to be having this battle of words and wit with her he should at least be pacing a slow circle around her as she had done to them. He wasn't sure why... Predators reacted in such ways and he wasn't a predator.

She couldn't help but laugh as he moved towards her. Even knowing that it would grate on his nerves further the laughter bubbled, making her feel at least a little bit better than she already did. It was always so funny when their mother's side showed in him and it didn't happen nearly enough.
"Oh, come on. You should be thanking me. Did you see the look on her poor little face as she stepped closer to you? You got to be the knight leading her away from the big, bad monster that lurks in the woods... I'm sure there are stallions out there who would simply kill for someone to give them that chance, Pyre."

"There are several problems with that theory of yours, Ember." He resisted the urge to snarl at her, feeling the glare he was directing at her darken as the light from the flames dancing in her mane flickered in it. "I don't enjoy frightening or intimidating others. Unlike you, I never have. I also don't enjoy being told who I may and may not cross paths with as I roam... Which makes two things that I don't particularly care for that have happened tonight because of you."

Her brow furrowed as her brother's words settled into her mind. It was one thing to accept blame for something that she had done, just as it was a completely different thing to be blamed for something that one had nothing to do with.
"Now see here, Pyre, I may have spooked your little friend but I see no reason why I should shoulder the blame for saying that you weren't to cross paths with her again. Why on earth would I care who you associated with? You're old enough to make your own mistakes by now and, all in all, beyond how easily she spooks I don't suppose she was all that bad."

"You may not have said it but you were the cause of it being said. You who thought it was such a good idea to scare her, even if you were attempting to make me look better in her eyes. You're help did no good whatsoever." He snapped as he turned on her, stamping at the ground with a blazing hoof.

Her own flames leapt in response to the challenge issued by his own, tail swishing behind her as tongues of fire danced along silky strands. "So was it she that told you to stay away? Did I scare her that badly that she would want nothing more to do with you? Ha." She laughed, tossing her head back and holding it high. "If such is the case you, my dear brother, are better off. If someone can not accept who you are or who your family may be they simply aren't worth your time... Blood runs far thicker than water."

"No." His nose wrinkled as he glared at her, feeling her response to his unintentional challenge boiling in his blood. "No.." His voice softened slightly as he stepped back. Had it been Atae'Seirei who had told him to be gone he would have been justified in finishing this where he and his sister now stood... But it had not been her. She probably wouldn't even know about it unless her father spoke of it with her.
"It was her father."

She felt the atmosphere around them and between them shift along with her brother's mood, watching as the intensity of his flames died down. "I see." She knew, as a daughter, how much the opinion of one's father could mean and she supposed that it could mean just as much to a son.
She stepped towards her brother, bringing herself close enough that she could catch a strand of his mane and give it a teasing tug, acting a bit more as an older sister should, perhaps. "He is obviously an idiot."

"Either that or he's right and I am some sort of trouble." He snorted softly as he shook his head, dragging his mane out of his sister's grasp so that she couldn't nibble on the ends or tug on it again. "I did warn her..." Once again, the last thing he had wanted was to cause the little mare troubles. There were enough problems out there without someone like him causing more of them... He'd leave that for stallions like Smolder.

"See. Proof that you cannot be nearly as bad as her father must think you are to feel the need to warn you away from his precious daughter." She smirked, flames flickering along the strands of mane framing her face to give her an almost impish appearance. "If you were horrible you wouldn't tell her... That would be stupid."

"Y'know... It's funny you should say that, Ember." He smirked as he turned away from his sister, head giving a light toss that sent his mane fluttering against his dark neck, bringing the feel of the cool air towards him. "Real funny..."

She took the bait of curiosity, turning her own body to follow after him if only until she got answers. "... Why? What makes it so funny? And where on earth do you think you're going?"

"Beyond being funny because I said so?" He teased as he glanced over his shoulder at his older sister. "It's funny because, earlier this night, the little mare you spooked? Said much the same thing... The ones who mean you ill rarely tell you before they strike. As to where I'm going? You aren't my mother. I needn't tell you where my hooves are carrying me."
