A new Street Fighter film is in development and is scheduled for a 2008 release. According to the screenwriter, Justin Marks, the plot will revolve around female fighter Chun-Li embarking on a quest for great justice. On December 21, 2007, Smallville star Kristin Kreuk was confirmed for the role of Chun-Li and film production will begin in March 2008.
AWESOME!!!!!! This means Lana leaves for a while. Lois & Clark 4ever!!!!!!

I don't think it does mean that she's leaving.
Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Michael Rosenbaum and Alison Mack have all worked on film projects without taking time off SV.

Kristin Kreuk also starred in a film while she was filming Smallville so it doesn't necessarily mean she will be leaving.
I just hope the movie was better than DOA.

I'm all for having Lana leave SmallVille, and as I have stated time and time again since Clark isn't with Chloe in SmallVille I'd rather see Lois & Clark.
Hopefully when Lana leaves SmallVille it will be perminante she was better in the earlier seasons, she didn't annoy me as much as she does now.

Yeah, and what I'm saying is that Kristin Kreuk will probably work around her schedule so she can still appear in Smallville and do this film -- it'll probably be filmed in a hiatus or over the summer.

Seriously, they can't take out their precious Lana. She has only been absent from one episode where she was in Paris picking a wedding dress during Justice. That is it. I doubt they can think up another excuse for her to not be shown.
