Name, discuss, gab on about your favorite DT side projects. biggrin
I'll start us off. I'm a big fan of James, so I love Elements of Persuasion. I was also introduced to Ayreon not so long ago, and they are amazing! I reccommend The Human Equation to everyone who loves a good concept album. I've also been into Liquid Tension lately, as well as Suspended Animation by John Petrucci. These albums are some of the best instrumental stuff I've heard.

If you are a LaBrie fan, you should look into one of his side projects, its a band called Frameshift. 3nodding

As for Suspended Animation, it was like omgwow when I first heard it, but it really grew on me and now I love it. There's no vocals of course, it's all instrumental.

Well I loveJordan Rudess solo, but whats really the best is The Liquid Tesion Experiment. It is great! It has the same drummer, guitarist and, keyboardist but it has a different bass player and no singer. Its really cool.

soulexposed Anybody a fan of Winter Rose? whee I'm sad to say that I never heard any of their songs. It'd be interesting to find a song and listen to James in his prime... but alas... I haven't found anything on them.

My favorite project is definitely Ayreon. This guy, Arjen, He is a genius. The Human Equation is kinda in the same level as Metropolis Pt 2

Feng Ru I''m sad to say that I never heard any of their songs. It''d be interesting to find a song and listen to James in his prime... but alas... I haven''t found anything on them. Let me tell you, he''s absolutely crazy in his young age. xd I''ve been fortunate enough to stumble upon some of their live stuff, and his voice is out of this world.6+AlucarD+9 My favorite project is definitely Ayreon. This guy, Arjen, He is a genius. The Human Equation is kinda in the same level as Metropolis Pt 2 I agree. THE is a masterpiece all on it''s own, and it opened me up to a lot of different styles of music that DT doesn''t normally touch upon.

I must say that I could eat LTE 1 and 2 for breakfast every day, along with every of DT's albums... I l-o-v-e the tracks I heard (5-6 of them on my compie) from Frameshift, especially La Mer.
I forget the name right now, but James also participated in this sort of 'tribute' to Da Vinci... Great album, from the few tracks I've heard. They're all very different from each other and colorful. It lifts your spirits up in no time! And you also get a little of Da Vinci's history, too. :3

Elements of Persuasion was way too samey, and I have no interest in Mullmuzzler at all.
I like OSI a lot, it's very psychadelic. Both Frameshift albums are good, too, but I still prefer Sebastian Bach's vocals. (Devin Townsend's being considered for the next one, so keep your fingers cross'd.)
