It was a quiet normal day in the digital world. Several members of the DATS team were making normal round, checking for rifts that lead to their own world. While they were doing so, a little devilish digimon showed up. He snuck up on the two DATS members. Using its sly and quick skills, it managed to grab the communicator and teleportation device off the two, and it ran further into the woods.
Stranded, the two have no choice but to chase after the digimon.
Criteria for finishing: Identify Digimon Reason it stole the devices. Get your stuff back. Bring digimon back ((Whether downgraded to a Tama, or as is))
Reward: 1 Spork each!

Lost in his thoughts, it took a few moments for Joey realize that he hadn't been bumped into but in actuality had been robbed. He spun around to only catch a shadow of a glance of the creature that he assumed was a digimon. The digimon sped into the forest with Joey's belongings and he growled under his breath.
"What a great way to pick up in the digital world where I left off...grr.."
Not worrying about deciding on which digimon from his farm would be best to take down this thief, he double-checked his buckled black boots before taking a running leap and continuing to sprint into the wood after the digimon.

((Well he said that it took our devices...as in the tamer/digidestined/chosen/DATS member..whatever you want to call us. I don't think digimon are allowed to own those. Of course your twins...or any digimon for that matter can be on the adventure. I'm pretty sure you have to have a human to control though as well...do you not? I couldn't find a digi-farm for you.))

((Well he didn't say that they had to be tamed. He setup a scenario with a digimon stealing the human's communicator and equipment, ya know? So the twins can be there too, even seperately from your tamer...but they still have to be there 'cause their things were stolen..and it's part of the mission to have 'YOU' go find it. See what I'm saying?))

Derrik had nothing nice to say as his little gadgets being sent into the woods at the hands of a digimon. Derrik, who had recently stepped down from his title for the time being, was hoping he could use this time get Joey better, as they never really got to talk at all.
"Damn it. This is just great." He was chasing slightly behind Joey as they took off trying to follow the other digimon. He was unsure what had taken them, better yet why. While chasing he too, had to think of a digimon that would be appropriate for the situation. But he wouldn't be able to figure anything out until he knew what they were dealing with.

Noticing Derrik was behind him, Joey smiled and sprinted a little faster in the heat of the excitement for an adventure. His thoughts turned to his digimon that he had been without, away from the Digital World, for months...which is really much longer in their world. Pushing through the branches in the woods, Joey grew worried that this would be the end of his taming. "Without my devices, I'm nothing...I don't even know if my digimon will come to me since it's been so long. What am I saying? Snap out of it!" Joey shook his head, releasing himself from his thoughts for a moment, and removing self-doubt, he grabbed his silver and black digivice from his second black studded belt around his waist and closed his eyes, facing who he thought was Derrik behind him. Still focusing on his connection with his digimon with his eyes closed, he spoke to his former commanding officer. "I know I've been out of commission for a while but I'm not going to let some theif get away with stealing out stuff! We have things to accomplish and plenty of rights and life to uphold and protect. Actually, we don't even really have time for games...we need to be training when it comes down to it. I'm rambling, I know, I just have a bad feeling about what is to come next. This is just the beginning." As Joey talked, he held his digivice tighter as it began to glow. Noticing the activation, he slowly opened his eyes after the bright light had faded. Leo floated in the air next to him with a broad grin on his face. "Stop being so dramatic, Joey! You know I'm always here to help you out...helllooooo...that's why you started calling me your guardian angel...or going back to your world for so long has made you forget? Pfffttt."The little digimon floated around Joey and continued to tease him. Hoping Derrik was up to snag this thief, he extended his hand through the brush with a smile, "Let's get this slimeball, eh?"

Derrik's digivice was beeping, alerting that one of his own was nearby. He held out his own digivice and then a black blur lunged towards him Joey and Leo. It was one of his newest team members, Poe. "Poe..." Derrik said wondering what the black biyomon was doing in the woods at this time of night, then realizing that the digimon was dark by nature. "It seems you have found yourself in a bit of a strut, eh?" The wise bird said. Derrik rolled his eyes. He didn't like the bird brain's attitude at all, but he thought he might as well give the bird a chance. "Well if you consider having our only way out of here..." Derrik couldn't even finish as the dark bird hopped around to face Leo and Joey. "Well are you a nice dark looking fellow." He spoke to joey, followed by a wink. "and with such a bright and perky digimon to boot." Derrik sighed and shook his head.

Joey grinned at the bird digimon and bent down to look at it closer, face to face.
"Aww, Derrik. I like your little birdy...Poe, is it? Well, Poe, of course I have a bright digimon with me. The blasted angel thinks he's supposed to protect me and keep me balanced, whatever that means," he said pushing the long blonde streaked bangs from his face as he peered down, rolling his eyes at his digimon.
"It means you like to play with fire. Well, really evil, but mostly fire. And you need ALL the help you can get! If it wasn't for me here, you'd be lost in this forest already..so be grateful!" said the flying angel digimon flapping his wings, swinging around talking to Joey overhead.
"You're probably right. That's why I put up with your blabber," he said with a wink, raising up from looking down at Poe and swatting at Leo in the air playfully, "Little pipsqueak!"

Derrik shook his head. Of course Joey would get along with a hot headed out spoken bird. "Im watching you Poe." He said under grit teeth.
"Im sorry what? Open your mouth when you speak." Poe said back with a devilish grin. "As much as this banter is entertaining, I do believe we let the digimon we were after, get away." The bird pointed his wing in the direction the digimon had ran, it was nothing but the dark opening of the wood.
"Oh thats just great." Derrik said clenching his fist in complete frustration. He walked over to a nearby tree and leaned against it. "What the hell are we supposed to do now."
Poe flapped his wings and landed next to his tamer. "Your a smart man, you figure out. While your doing that, Ima follow his foot prints!" Poe turned to Joey and Leo. "you two could keep me company, no?"

Joey quit swabbling with Leo and grabbed him around the waist and held him to his chest. "Alright buddy, let's get back to business. Glad you're here by the way..." he said with a slow growl and a wink.
He turned to look at Derrik, wondering how else he could help in the confusion. Looking back at Poe, still perplexed by the digimon, he decided to go along with Leo in tow.
Standing behind Poe, with intent to follow, Joey tried to start a quiet conversation. "Well, I'm not trying to scare away whatever we're chasing but I just figured I'd say you'd be the one to follow...really...being a creature of the night and all."
"Oh and what am I? A complete dolt? I know what I'm doing too, Joey....grr," Leo said with slight annoyance. He wriggled his way out of Joey's arms with little effort and flew a little higher into the air looking upwards.
"Nah, I just figured why not let him lead the way. You should scout the area as best as you can from up there anyways...will ya?"
"Sure, why not?" Leo said with a smile before swooping up as high as possible reaching as far up into the trees as possible, dodging branches like bullets, searching for something ahead of them that would be of benefit, "It's pretty dark, Joey, and there's lots of brush! BOOM BUBBLE!"
Using his attack, Leo caused a burst of air attack to brush away some of the brambles in his way to see what lies ahead. Joey just shook his head and looked to Poe for any sign of what to do next. He turned around hoping Derrik had decided to follow.
"How can something so simple as finding a thief be so hard? Have a really been gone so long I lost my touch? Impossible!" he thought to himself as the search continued.

Derrik did follow, but he stayed towards the back, contemplating calling another digimon, to keep Poe quiet. Poe had a big mouth and it annoyed him. Derrik let out a sigh as they entered the darkened forest, loosing most of the light around them.
Poe continued leading the group, not even thinking twice about it. "This is the forest of Darkness so dont be alarmed that there is no light, cause there's not." The Biyomon's eyes seemed to twinkle as he looked around, being able to watch the footsteps before him.
Derrik looked up and leaped back as he saw two red eyes staring down at him. "What the..."
"Come one Come on... nothing to be scared of. There will be some light on ahead. No need to be scared of the dark." Poe was just taunting his tamer now, finding it to be a great game.
"There is something up there." Derrik pointed, though no one could see it through the darkness. He slid his digivice deep into his pocket, he really would be lost without that.

It seemed to Joey that things were getting darker and the name of the forest involving darkness didn't help his worries. Not so much worried with the darkness but fear of what lay ahead wracked Joey's mind.
He instantly called for Leo to come down and fly near him as so he wouldn't lose sight of him. Reaching back to his belt, Joey pulled his digivice back out.
"Ya know, back in the day...these things used to light up in the darkness. Think it's worth a shot Derrik?" Joey said holding his device out in front of him hoping to see what was in front of them that was barely visible in the darkness, hoping he wasn't about to step off the edge of a cliff in the blackness ahead.

Derrik nodded, even though it went unseen. "Yeah, Im surprised either of us didn't think of it early. Especially the flying brainless idiot up there."
Poe squawked in shock as he turned around. "Ill have you know I can see just fine. Its you human's and types of the light who are at a disadvantage. Why I would even say... Oh never more!"
