No, it was bothering me, too.
Yes, I mean, it could just be worded funny.

Based on the best-selling book series by Stephenie Meyer.

BELLA SWAN has always been a little bit different. Never one to run with the crowd, Bella never cared about fitting in with the trendy, plastic girls at her Phoenix, Arizona high school. When her mother remarried and sent Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she didn't expect much of anything to change. But things do change when she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful EDWARD CULLEN. For Edward is nothing like any boy she's ever met. He's nothing like anyone she's ever met, period. He's intelligent and witty, and he seems to see straight into her soul. In no time at all, they are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance — unorthodox because Edward really isn't like the other boys. He can run faster than a mountain lion. He can stop a moving car with his bare hands. Oh, and he hasn't aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he's immortal. That's right — VAMPIRE. But he doesn't have fangs — that's just in the movies. And he doesn't drink human blood, though Edward and his family are unique among vampires in that lifestyle choice.

To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for — a soul mate.

But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy.

Somehow or other, they will have to manage their unmanageable love. But what will they do when LAURENT and JAMES, the Cullens' mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for Bella?

Based on the #1 New York Times Bestselling series by Stephenie Meyer, TWILIGHT is a cultural phenomenon, with a fanatic fanbase that eagerly awaits this movie. Critically acclaimed director Catherine Hardwicke brings to life this modern, visual, and visceral Romeo and Juliet story of the ultimate forbidden love affair — between vampire and mortal.

Principal photography starts First Quarter 2008. U.S. release via Summit Entertainment.

The bold bit is what's bothering me.
'Mortal vampire enemies?'
I mean, sure, they don't have the same diet...
But they weren't 'enemies' until James let his 'love for the game' take him over.

What, if anything, do you make of this?

Based on the summary I believe Summit is just trying to turn this into a lame cheesy love story. Ugh...I have so many problems with the summary but I'm too lazy to type it all out right now lol

To some people, all Twilight is is a cheesy love story. -shrug- I still have faith.

But, I dont know about Laurent...he wasn't bad...Victoria was. Maybe they cut her? If they don't know if theyre making a sequel, it makes sense not to include her. And consider this: maybe they didnt know how to summarize it, and changed the way it comes off?

Look at it this way. They had to change something about the book. Everyone knew it would never be perfect. Why not be glad theyre changing the exciting part, the plot? That way, we can still be surprised, and maybe we can enjoy the film as a whole new experience.

Ignore me from here on, this is all slightly offtopic opinionated rant.

To be honest, Ive been kind of annoyed by how stubborn every one is about the film. Not necessarily here, so dont spazz out on me, just in general. Yes, it'll be different, yes, it could be a disaster, but how bad could it be to have a new interpretation? Have you ever read fanfiction? And while I joke and say that Ill be so mad if so and so is cast, I dont care. Have some faith! And don't take this so seriously.

I am know among people at school as having Twilight as a religion, and I'm not freaking out. Try not to, either. 3nodding

Bahah, I know, I know.

But, that's the major thing I don't want them to change! The plot is...well, it's the plot!

I don't know...
I'm worried that they'll be doing their little baseball bit
and then James and his little posse will come
and there won't be a Carlisle being all
you know
calm and stuff.
Like, they'll see each other
insert dramatic music
Carlisle yelling, 'JAMES!'
James yelling, 'CARLISE!'
DUNDUNDUUUUUUUUUUN~
and then it'll just be wrong. ._.
XDDD

But, I don't know...
It could just be worded funny.
-Shrug-

But, you get what I'm saying, right?
Mortal enemies?
Isn't that a bit of a stretch?

yyyyyyyyeah, mortal enimies... not to fond of that that just might changed the whole story. and how did the "enemies" find out about bella, and why would they be after them for that?
oh god i hope they don't mess this up like they did to blood and chocolate.

and i soooooooooooooooo hope that the love, mushy bit is just to atract attention. I'd hate to see this be bad parady of romeo and juliet. (lol even if they're mentioned in new moon)

But it's so dumb..they're not exactly "mortal vampire enemies" that "come to town, looking for Bella"
They just happened to run into each other in the meadow and they saw Bella...

And I asked this before, but I don't think I got an answer.
Is it forbidden for vampires to fall in love with humans? Does it ever say that?

Hm...I want to say no, but I don't remember exactly what the Volturi said about it...
PostPosted: Wed Jan 02, 2008 7:05 pm

It isnt forbidden, it just...doesn't happen. So few vampires even care enough about humans to abstain, and fewer still can keep their existence a secret at the same time.

Nah, they are going to have Victoria in the movie. If you check out one of those audition websites, it does show Victoria's part, and as a note, it also says that the role may be in a possible sequel.

Yeah! That's irritating.....
And "To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for — a soul mate."
WHAT?!?!? That's not making any sense...
And Edward doesn't "see straight into her soul!" He can't even read her mind, honestly!

As soon as I read: "-trendy, plasticgirls"

I'm was like: "********, they're gonna teeny bop the s**t out of this."

I'm afraid its gonna be a vampire version of "Mean Girls"

And yeah ... "mortal enemies" is going a little too far.

Although I think it would be interesting if the Cullen's had encountered them before...I could handle that slight change.
