Pawing at the ground tiredly, Kakashi was growing bored of this snow. Of course it was beautiful but the monotonous white ground and white snow everywhere was beginning to bother him. He missed the spring and summer. When the animals frolicked and played in the budding new greens, that was what he wished for right now. The silence was almost unsettling. Even though this wasn't his first winter around here, Kakashi had felt the same every year.

Muttering slightly as a small pile of snow fell on top of his head from a tree branch above, Kakashi was growing restless. The stallion moved through the trees silently as he looked for the familiar lake. Finally, Kakashi spotted it in the distance as the sun reflected off of the frozen surface. Sighing softly, Kakashi gazed down at the frozen lake. Even his favorite spot was being tormented by this weather.

Lately, Kakashi had been in a foul mood for some reason. He didn't know why but he had been doing a lot of self-reflection lately. It was nothing important but he usually asked himself questions that he knew he couldn't answer. There just seemed to be something missing... and if he didn't find it soon, who knows what would happen to him.

What had gone wrong with each meeting she came across in her daily adventures the royal blue winged mare pondered with much thought. As she stepped she evaluated each of them tossing her head idly with her contemplations. Nothing she thought of seemed to be helping.

Was she merely cursed to wander like this?

The snow was coming yet again and still here she was alone. She wondered if Tansy had this same predicament or even her annoying brother Cheveyo. Oh well things took their own course right?

Walking toward the frozen lake she noticed a stallion, a very familiar one from her childhood. Smiling she swished her long tail and pondered back to her days of "learning to be a lady". The ideal made her laugh to herself of how this certain stallion taught her to be who she was today; a graceful lady (that scared away all the guys).

"Sensei Kakashi" she called out with a twinkle in her eye as the frozen loneliness was melting away. Would he remember her Nitika wondered as she introduced herself with much respect for her teacher. Maybe he could tell her what she had been doing wrong all this time.

Nitika was definitely not alone in her thoughts. Kakashi tried not to be alone because that just meant his own thoughts would come from the shadows to haunt his mind. Keeping himself occupied was definitely one of the priorities in his life right now. For as wise as he was, there was nothing he could do about this void in his soul. That was for someone else to accomplish...

The stallion continued to look at the surface of the lake wondering why it had to be frozen over. He knew it probably wasn't completely frozen and that if he stepped on it, he would probably sink to his icy death. Another reason why he preferred the spring, the cold was absolutely nonexistent. Raising a brow, Kakashi curiously wondered who was calling his name. When he turned around, he found himself pleasantly surprised to be gazing at a familiar face that he had known since she was a little foal. "Oh wow, Nitika. It's been too long. How have you been?"

He wondered if she had settled down yet because it seemed like so many soquili were right now. It must be something in the water...

She walked toward him as her tail swished this way and that holding her head high when she spoke. Ah the memories of trying to be "the perfect Lady". The thought made her smile thinking how Kakashi had taught her how to step and pause, react and respond like a true mare when she was just barely out of the basket. But even though this moment of happiness made her feel a bit better, that unnerving thing gnawing at her mind was a bit overwhelming.

She normally loved the winter and all its splendor, but today it was rather dull and boring with a good sense of cold nipping at her heels. Lovely weather insulting a confused mood. What could be worse she pondered, better yet she didn't want to. Shaking that off she spoke with haer soft yet direct voice to him, "Hmm in a confused state lately rather than that very well. Its a pleasure to see you again Sensei," she said as her head dipped in welcome.

As she pulled herself back upwards her wings shifted with a little stretch for being in the cold makes you stiff and miserable. "And you Sensei? How have you been all this time since we last talked?"

She was trying to shake that lonely feeling of self worth, but it wasn't being to reponsive and nice to her.

Kakashi couldn't help but smile as she came closer because it was always comforting to see a new face. For now, he forgot what was plaguing his mind and he was thankful to Nitika for helping to distract him with her presence.

He tilted his head slightly at her comment, "What do you mean a confused state? What's wrong Nitika?" His brows connected because he didn't want her to be confused or anything of the sorts. The only emotion appropriate for Nitika was happiness and cheerfulness. "Of course, it's always a pleasure to see you. It has been a long time... I haven't been doing much. A lot more wandering then before. And yourself? I hope you're doing well too?" He scrutinized her expression a little because it seemed like... there was something that was troubling her.

She frowned with a tiny scrunch of her nose thinking how to reply to his question and not feel so emo doing it, "Sensei am I annoying in any sort? You can tell me honestly for its eating at me worse than the bitter cold winds lately, " she sighed to herself, "Am I that impossible to make a friend or more..." Pausing she quieted feeling very embarrassed she blurted out her words with no hesitation.

Looking up she laughed suddenly trying to shake that silly emotion that drug her downward like a fallen tree. Well what is done is done, time to just move onward and talk about other things like she did when she was a little foal. Stretching her wings she coughed and smiled, "I'm doing really well though I wish I could go on adventures like my half sister. Visit places past the edge of the sea, find new lands, that's something I'd love to do. But, since mom came back I really don't want to pursue those dreams anymore for now. Oh well I suppose being here is nice, well except those darn cold winds that seem to keep even the strongest bird from flight." She realized her rambling started again, maybe that was why stallions avoided her she wondered.

"Ah enough about me... what fun adventures have you had Sensei? Bet you had to do at least something fun.. right?" she perked her ears forward as the lucid waves of her tail swished back and forth. At least Kakashi wouldn't runaway from her, well she hoped not anyway.

Raising a brow, Kakashi wasn't sure why she was asking him this. It all seemed so odd. For now, he forgot his own troubles and focused on Nitika's. "Of course not Nitika. Why would you think that? And we wouldn't be talking so casually if we weren't friends. Is something wrong? Has somebody been bothering you?" Kakashi scrutinized her expression carefully wondering why she was asking him these questions. It all seemed so wrong because that was exactly opposite of what he thought about her.

"Well, You can do those things whenever you want." Kakashi nodded slightly and thought about what he's done lately. "I have done... absolutely nothing lately. I haven't been traveling, just mindless wandering. I don't quite know what's wrong with me lately. I've been in a sort of slump... hopefully I get out of it soon." The thought of him not ever getting out of this ditch scared him terribly.

She cursed herself silently, though she knew her mother would of disapproved of this behavior she was using. A lady never looked down on herself, became a drama magnet, or just drew unadvised attention to herself. She was proper with a regal aura about her able to charm anyone to her grandest dreams and wishes.

Gee what kind of advice is that to give mom? I'm nothing like that...Who cares if I play in the mud and get dirty. Who cares if I ask questions because my curiosity is brimming for information... Why can't I just be me?

She weaved in and out of her frustrated sadness while trying to hide it from her teacher in the process. But she knew full well that Kakashi could read into things that others hid quite well, and he would figure out she was really frustrated and sad about things.

"A slump?" she queried tilting her head in curiosity and compassion, "Are you alright Sensei? Can I do anything to help?" her eyes flickered a bit more life in her concern for him.

She pondered what to tell him about herself faltering as she mingled words, some things broken other things whole. "Not someone ... just the way others see me I guess." She looked downward as her tail shifted and swayed back and forth making that wisping sound as wind carries through summer leaves

Kakashi was watching her quite carefully, he wasn't sure why he was starting to feel overprotective or something. He didn't like the fact that there was something that was bothering her whether it was a soquili or not. He was so confused...

"Are you sure about that?" Raising his brow, he answered her question, "Oh yes, don't worry about me. I'm absolutely fine but you don't seem fine..." He was looking down while he said this but once he finished he looked back up at her wondering if she was thinking that he was a weirdo or something. "You shouldn't be so concerned with the way people view you... Just as long as you know that you're being the best Nitika you can be, then you can act any way you want and it doesn't have to mean always acting lady-like." Kakashi paused and gazed at her thoughtfully, "Sorry, I really don't mean to ramble like that."

Nitika couldn't help smile for her sensei always made her feel "like herself" ever since she'd ran into him when she was but a wandering child seeking guidance.

Here we are again... still seeking advice. I swear I'm cursed or something.

She smiled back at him her face pulling out of that little slump she always fell into. "You're not rambling Kakashi." she blinked and realized she'd used his full name without even a flutter of a thought, "Err I mean Sensei, I think its just disheartening that I don't have too many good friends and my siblings have gone elsewhere. I guess you could say I'm a little bit lonely these days."

She took a deep breath looking toward the clouds before she returned her gaze to him, "Last summer mother adopted a stray flutter basket which she's grown into a sister to me now. Her heart moves all the time, demanding her to take off to destinations unknown. It sounds so wonderful to just up and go, but yet then I'd be leaving everyone behind."

Now she laughed at herself for she was the one rambling. Looking deeply at Kakashi she tilted her head, "Are you seeking anything sensei? "

She was worried about someone she held high respect for. Even his tone that came from him alerted her something was a miss with her teacher.

Smiling, Kakashi was glad to hear that she was at least doing alright besides the fact that she seemed to be doubting herself. "I think, you should just call me Kakashi. Sensei makes it seem like we're not good friends or anything." He chuckled happily and smiled at her. "Don't worry about that too much, I know it's difficult but the world will end up missing out." Pausing, he wasn't sure how to reply to her answer.

Because he knew he was looking for something but he just didn't know what yet... "As far as I know right now, I think I'm looking for something. But, I still don't know what it is. Even I have my problems." He grinned slightly and looked at her. "I really don't know what it is but I know there's just... something missing..." Kakashi seemed to get lost in his own train of thoughts for a second.

Nitika's soft eyes of amethyst took in his words with much consideration. If there was one thing in a soul's life that made you unbalanced it was that annoying piece that was forever just out of reach. She herself felt just about the same really, though matter how much she tried, flew, galloped... it was always out of her grasp. Perhaps this imperfection was what her heart was screaming to her mind.

I'm just too impossible to find what it is I need to find.

"Alright then Kakashi, " she breathed with a smile thinking for so long how he was more of a teacher than a friend, "Well it seems we both are lacking something, right? What if we help each other discover what the other is missing. I've found that in a bit of a troublesome puzzle there's always a solution." Her eyes smiled back at him as she shook her forelock away to better gaze upon him. Holding much respect for one so bold to teach her from a child into an adult mare, she always held wondrous curiosity about him even after they parted ways so long ago.

She turned to look at a passing cloud then back him once more. He couldn't fly but she was sure he was extremely fast upon those strong legs. With combined abilities they both could soar past this obstacle.

Gazing at Nitika, Kakashi was unsure of what was going through his head. Maybe what he was looking for was closer then he thought.

Kakashi snapped out of his trance temporarily and nodded at her. "Yes, I wonder what you're lacking. Do you have any idea?" Tilting his head curiously, Kakashi couldn't think of anything that she would be missing. She seemed so... perfect. Shrugging those thoughts out of his mind, Kakashi tried to concentrate on himself but to no avail. This was just not working out for him. "Well, actually, how about let's try... not to think about this. Maybe that'll work and we'll be able to figure it out self-consciously?" Kakashi definitely believed in the strange workings of the mind. He believed that you were still processing information even if you weren't directly thinking about it at the moment.

Its easy for someone to speak of solving riddles even pondering solutions, unless it was of their own problem that plagued them with endless dead ends. Nitika was like that not knowing that her solution, answer if you will was so close it could of spooked her. But she was a stubborn girl that saw things around the enclosure rather than directly within. This is why she asked so many questions day in and day out, to sate her curiosity that seemed to be her downfall.

"Not ponder on it? But will it ever be figured out?" she blurted out piping her muzzle shut at the realization her impulsiveness had set in "Ooh that wasn't like me to do that. I'm sorry Kakashi." she murmured swishing her long tail. What was wrong with her lately that she needed to know exactly how things worked and why they needed to be that way she pondered.

Taking a deep breath she smiled back at him her eyes shimmering, "Well maybe a walk would both do us good then?" she asked with a stretch of her wings letting the winter breeze brush over them. Maybe Kakashi had a pending solution where she did not in which it would be better to let him handle this.

"Far as myself I can't picture of place a hoof on what the missing piece of this mystery is. Its not anything visible I don't think... I just feel like something is missing or searching for... something."

Whatever it was if Nitika had her way she'd find the answer. Someway. Somehow. She knew they both would.

Kakashi listened to her speak and then burst into a chuckle. "Oh, you're so silly and confusing sometimes Nitika." The stallion couldn't help but chuckle once more. She was so puzzling but that just made him want to find out more. He liked the way she was and he hoped that she didn't want to change herself or anything.

"Don't be sorry." Raising a brow slightly, Kakashi didn't understand why she was apologizing, there was no reason for it. Again, she was very intriguing to him. "There's no need to apologize. It's good to question things." The stallion watched her, picking apart her actions wondering what she was thinking. He just couldn't seem to figure her out. "Yea, a walk would be good. After you." He bowed slightly and let her choose the direction. "Don't you worry about a thing while I'm here because I'm sure you'll figure it out sooner or later." Kakashi smiled trying to reassure her.
