We've all seen or heard about situations where someone sees a certain dog breed (usually because of the media) and rushes out to get one, only to find that someone forgot to mention certain traits of a breed that might make them not quite the ideal pet for that person. A good example of this is the 101 Dalmatians disaster when the first movie came out. People rushed out to buy the cute, spotted little darlings on a whim, only to discover that they had made a mistake. A mistake which cause a lot of trouble for many dogs and many shelters.
So, to make a contribution to solving this problem in some small way, I decided to create this thread. The idea is that if anyone is considering getting a particular breed someday or they're curious and would like some straightforeward information they can come to this thread. I'm sure there are some knowledgeable people in this guild that would be happy to volunteer some information.
Whether you work in a profession that involves many breeds, have a dog of a certain breed, or have some other way to contribute valuable information, we would like to see it here.
