So, ladies and gentlemen. I wanna see if we can't push to get more members in the guild and get more activity going.
No particular reason I've decided to start this now. Just bored at work while not working.
In the past I know we've been real picky about who we choose to invite. Because wrong choices brought conflict and arguments, which the guild's supposed to be a haven against. But that's why we have mods, right?
So anyway. Other than just inviting random people who might seem to express interest in gaming in general, lets hear some ideas on how we might get more outside interest and activity in the guild.
I, for one. think we need to remove the Gaming Discussion subforum and replace it with a picture post or something. It's kinda silly to have a Gaming Subforum in a gaming forum in my opinion. Also, we hardly ever use ut.

One thing that needs to be worked on is the modship of this guild. No offense or anything but if we're going to try to get more people to come into this guild maybe someone should drop the mod count.
Newer members might see it as unfair. More than half of the current active members are mods. Something I've yet to see in any guild on Gaia.
Once again, no offense.

To be honest, I don't most people care if there's a bunch of mods. I'd say we have a good, big ol' group of mods right now.
I say we invite the few members of the VGD who are regulars, keep it small, the guild is only inactive right now, because it's January 1st. And last week was Christmas.

I don't think the excess amount of mods deters people. I think a lack of moderation would deter people more.
All the people that have modship right now have earned it, in my opinion, and are trusted to use that power to keep peace in the guild.
And it's not a just recently thing, it's been a while I've been pondering getting more people into the guild.

Well if you guys feel that way then I guess the only real problem is proper advertising? Let people know about the guild and let them know the kind of people that are accepted.

We already tried proper advertising when we made the ER-VGD open to the public. The only real thing that works is guild invites by us going to the VGD.

Sailorcancer2004 I think we have a good flow of posts. Well I don't disagree with that, the ER-VGD has had more activity as of late, a good chunk thanks to you SC 3nodding But there was one point in the ER-VGD's life that it had a very large amount of members posting. Just take a gander at the "Post your mug" sticky and look at how many members actually were active in here. Ah the good ol days. Sailorcancer2004 KaoAtlas As long as KTS never gets here. Who? Isn't he already in here?

This guild needs a bit of an enema if you can excuse my term of bowel flush.
I mean, hell, some of the crew and vice-captains of this guild (one of my old accounts included) are perma-banned. A lot of this has to do with the fact that our fearless leader is currently fearlessly leading his life like a total rockstar he is (I heart U Langlan!), but in doing so, he is seldom online.
Frankly, I feel that this guild needs a leader that is present often and has a lot invested into this guild, whom I speak of is Veras. Perhaps we should petition to Langlan for a short-term change in power, or what ever.
Either way, this guild needs some cleaning, and it'll be hard to do without a central leader in the captain position.
Veras Gunn for ER-VGD Captain!

The guild seems fine to me, I mean, its like the only thing I use on Gaia anymore. So as long as you guys are here to talk to, I'm down with anything.

The thought brings two things to mind. On one hand, activity will be great. New members will be nice and more friends is a plus right? On the other...do we know/want anyone else? Plus now we have a very nice family of members. We all know each other and have done for some years now.
So, new friends or break a family?

Nter Whatever happened to the Paladins? Those still exist? Yea, I don't really care who we invite, or if we invite anyone at all. I'm content with the way things are now. biggrin OMO:
