It was a lazy morning, and a cloudy one at that. The snow and ice had taken over the grass on the ground, and Plague found himself more miserable than ever. Why he hadn't traveled south to a warmer climate was beyond him, and he found himself once again roaming through the forests in search of what family members remained that were linked to his bloodline.

It was DISGUSTING.
Snow was everywhere. The ground, the river, the trees... what place WASN'T filled with this awful soggy wetness?
Dia snorted, frustrated. She had awoken to attempt to bathe herself in the river, only to find it frozen over, and her hooves damp from the snow.
What could POSSIBLY be worse than not being able to primp herself?

He had expected the stench of his sons, perhaps the semi-sweet aroma of his daughters, but he hadn't been prepared to smell the sickeningly sugary smell of the pink and white kalona he'd raised and abused, taught and shared children with. Not Diabetia.... she had been the last one he'd have imagined he'd run into this snowy morning.
While he could normally hide and spy, today wasn't one of those days.
Yawning, he outstretched his wings and tossed his tangled mane. He grinned as he noticed her disdainful expression.
"Enjoying this winter morning, Sweetness?" he asked, stepping forward and into her view.

She cringed as the familiar voice rung out through the trees of the forest. Whyyyyy did it have to be him? As if the snow wasn't bad enough!
Turning around, her pink eyes narrowed, a snarl forming on her face. "Of course, Plague. Why in the world wouldn't I appreciate this... wet, horrifying frozen water scattered around this bleak land?"
Rolling her eyes, she stepped away, moving as far as she could away from the mutant stallion.

She stood still, listening in the distance for more crunching of the snow by horse's hooves.
It hadn't been easy, but she'd finally tracked him down. What a nuisance her big brother had been, wandering off like that. Whispering in the wind had told her he'd gone off in search of that horrid little eyesore of a foal he'd raised, but Pandemic wouldn't believe that. Not Plague. Oh no, her older brother was much more sensible than to care about the happenings of a bright pink and white... thing as that brat had been. Stupid little filly had forced her brother to turn a blind eye to his own baby sister, and for that, Pandemic would never forgive. Never forget, and never forgive.
A quiet snort exhaled from her nose, tiny wisps fleeing her nostrils as the warmth met with the chilling cold. This land was far too merry for hers and Plague's kind. What prompted him to stay here was beyond her reasoning, but she would soon find out, she figured logically.
After many months of searching among the fields, the forests, and the caverns, she'd finally gotten wind of her foul stenched sibling and it was time for a small family reunion.

He grinned at her sarcastic response, fully expecting something of similar sorts to leave that smartass tongue of hers. She'd never bore him, not his Sweetness. She could prove to be frustrating, obnoxious, and an overall pain in his dark a**, but boring she was not.
The larger creature smirked to himself as he began a slow large circle around the smaller being, his wings low at his side, the feather's tips dragging along the ground. She would try to leave at the first chance she got, he knew, since that seemed to be her common and most frequently used tactic. But, knowing her next intentions helped prepare him for a counterstrike. He wasn't done with her by a long shot, and would allow her to leave when he wanted her to leave.
Albeit, the last time they'd met upon one another with the same mentality, he'd walked away with a pierced shoulder. Best to learn from one's mistakes so as to not repeat them.
He heaved a snort as his smirk remained strong.
"It's been a while, Diabetia."

Her eyes rolled as he began doing that stupid macho thing he liked to do. She'd never understand him... not that she insisted on trying, or anything. No, Plague would remain Plague, just as he had, just as he always would.
As he came closer, intent on circling, she moved backwards in attempts to break his circling path. She wouldn't let him get the best of her; she wouldn't let him start controlling her again. He had for so long, but since their arrival into this land, she'd been her own creature... an independent kalona with her own way of running her own life. She'd given birth to six terrifying children, three of which were certainly the spawn of Hell, the other three thankfully seeming to take somewhat after herself. Perhaps there was hope for a future of beautiful after all.
Her ivory hind legs felt the coarse rough bark of the tree as her backing up led her to a dead end. Pink eyes narrowed and glared at the taller creature as her sharp fangs remained out and bared.
"Yes... but not long enough, apparently, Plague."

Voices.
Her slender head turned, soft black mane gently swaying with the turn. Ears perked as she heard voices. They were still too far away to recognize, but they were there.
Empty eyes glanced around, and then slowly one elegant hoof lifted up and took a step forward, the cloven hoof crunching the snow beneath it with the mare's weight. Taking her time, she began her trek towards the conversing voices, her curiosity perked, since the faint scent of a particular sibling drifted in the passing wind.
Could it be him, at last?
