Along a distant coastline, there is a rather isolated forest which rests at the foot of an ancient mountain chain. Referred to as The Crimson Weald, these woods are rumored to have a dark and foreboding castle hidden away in their mist-laden depths. The surrounding town is ripe with tension so thick that you can cut it with even the dullest blade. Everything here is obviously not what it appears, but exactly what that means for you as a child of the night is uncertain. All you know is your life has not been the same ever since you received an anonymous letter inviting you to the keep deep within.

The vampires in the Crimson Weald live out in the open right alongside their mortal counterparts, trying to maintain an uneasy truce the castle's mysterious keeper has established with their leaders. However, this coexistence is a delicate one which only grows more tenuous with each passing day. The town's human population has begun to decline dramatically in recent months, and no one has been able to discover the source of these untimely deaths. People are starting to suspect a rogue creature of the evening is unnecessarily killing those they feed upon, but so little remains of the victims that this theory has yet to be confirmed.

Character Stat:

Name: Lady Rosetta DeLarosa the Everliving
Type: Vampire
Age: Unknown (Appears to be in her mid to late 40’s)
Sex: Female
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 140 lbs
Hair: Light gray, wavy
Eyes: white, no pupils or irises
Clothes: Dark red gyspy-style top with long, black slitted dress and black leather ankle boots with thick 1-inch heels. She also wears many unassuming earrings, necklaces and bracelets and a black hooded cloak.
Weapons: She carries a staff with a sword hidden inside of it as well as a dagger on her waist.
Abilities: Enhanced strength, speed and senses. Fast healing.
Background: An affluent noble within the Crimson Weald, Lady DeLarosa lives in a large fortress–like manor at the Northern end of town. She is called “The Everliving” because descendants of the first humans living in the town have records their ancestors that speak of her. She has many personal servants and guardsmen, both human and non-human, living in her manor under her service, but no apparent family to speak of. She’s known as a benevolent person, but also very private as she tends to spend her daylight hours in her manor’s highest tower either in her library or playing her pipe organ. When she ventures into the town at night, it’s usually only with her most trusted bodyguard, Captain Schwarzhelm, at her side. In the rare instance that she needs to be out during the day, she’s draped from head to toe to protect her from the sun and is accompanied by no less than twelve heavily armed, elite soldiers.

Name: Captain Seiger Schwarzhelm
Type: Human
Age: 31
Sex: Male
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 220 lbs
Hair: Black, close cut.
Eyes: Brown
Clothes: Silver plate armor underneath a dark tabard displaying Lady Delarosa’s crest
Weapons: One handed, singled sided battle axe. Long sword. Dagger. He also carries a shield.
Abilities: Extremely skilled fighter, leader and tactician
Background: His parents were servants to Lady DeLarosa and from the moment he was capable of walking, Seiger was trained as a warrior so he would grow to be a member of her personal guard. He’s her most trusted body guard and serves as captain of his own force of soldiers (about 30 or so) whose main purposes are to protect the manor and its inhabitants. They’ve also somewhat taken on the role of investigators since people in the town have begun disappearing, working alongside the town’s guards.

Name: Dr. Stanley von Krausheim
Type: Human
Age: 42
Sex: Male
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 130 lbs.
Hair: Brown, shoulder length
Eyes: Green
Clothes: Simple, unassuming clothes worn beneath a dirty, worn apron.
Weapons: None
Abilities: Extremely intelligent. Possessed by the demon Praxxis
Background: One of the town physicians, Dr. Von Krausheim has dedicated his life to the well-being of others. In addition to being trained in anatomy of both humans and non-humans, he’s also well read in the sciences but pursues those as more of a hobby, with medicine being his occupation. His pursuit of science was not without its pitfalls however, one night, while reading a tome he had come across during his travels, he unwittingly allowed a demon of the ancient world to posses him. Now he devotes much of his time to finding a way to free himself of the creature’s hold.

Name: Praxxis the Hated
Real name: Unpronounceable by the mortal tongue
Type: Demon
Age: Timeless
Sex: Male
Height: Estimated to be nearly 8 feet tall.
Weight: Unknown
Hair: None
Eyes: Glowing red
Clothes: None, parts of his skin is covered in extremely hard, dark red plating.
Weapons: A large broadsword, unnatural strength, can breathe fire. A bone protrusion from under his right wrist can act as a spear of sorts
Abilities: Immune to disease and highly resistant to pain, injury and fatigue.
Background: An ancient creature who was sealed away by a sorcerer in an age long forgotten, Praxxis was freed only recently when his prison was discovered and translated by Dr. von Krausheim. Originally very weak in his new shell, Praxxis seems to have gradually grown in power in the 3 years he’s possessed the doctor. Praxxis is now able to manifest into the physical world when the doctor is in a life threatening situation. Evavsive in nature, Praxxis refuses to explain why he was sealed away to begin with and often speaks to the doctor in riddles and half-truths as if to mock him. When not manifest in the physical plane, only Dr. von Krausheim can hear the demon speak.

Name: Not so much. Identity, that's more like it. We forgot the importance of syllables and how they relate to identity, but there was a concept, and we tried to utter it when all... This happened. Avoralus. That's what it sounded like. But it was flawed, imperfect. That's not what it was. But I was the closest. Avoral, like a mockery of a mockery. And they voice it every time.

Age: Time, dear sweet time. Eternity's a lie, and it's all ticking by. But yeah, let's get technical and say it's a grand total of 22. Fifteen on, seven off.

Gender: Definitely male. Only, I wonder how much that matters these nights.

Personality: Which one of us? It's either him or me. I'm not going into Atridane. He hasn't been the same since the Sila incident. White phosphorus tends to have that effect. But you remember the news reports. You tell me what kind of personality it takes to get headlines like "Unabomber Reborn?" and "Freemont Bomber Claims 147." It scares me to think he's coming back. But me, I'm a little more sane. A lot more sane, rather. I consider myself fairly easygoing, under the condition that you let me stay to my library and don't ever bother me. There's a lot going on here, things that need sifting through. I can see the way it's all about go down. Don't call me. I'll call you. You'll thank me if I don't.
See, what they're going on about with that "sanity" jazz fails to take into account the idea that some of us are just dealing with crap we see on a DAY-TO-DAY BASIS, and rather than being impaired by some traumatic experience or brain dysfunction, we're stuck with our eyes wide open to things the rest of our beloved Kindred had the pleasure of repressing. But, as knowledge normally goes, one taste and you can't turn back.
So what choice do we have? Talking circles around it is a lot less painful than coming straight out with it. If you knew what the hell I've seen, you'd get the picture.

Abilities: But you don't see what I've seen, because you don't have the Sight. This goes beyond normal psychic business, I wish it was that easy. It'll sound crazy, but for once, I'll give this to you straight.
I can see the future. I see the ******** future. And it's not pretty, there's another freebie. Remember what I said about eternity being a lie?
That goes beyond the distant scope of the sun and its depleting stores of hydrogen and helium. No, no.
The end is closer than you think.
The end of that end isn't longer past that.
And that's when the prophets' nightmares come true.
Don't think it's just the future. I see the past too, I've had one-way conversations with a Louisville Slugger, and I wasn't saying a word. Tell me that's not disturbing.
You can't see the things I see, no. But I found out how to show you a glimpse. I figured it out on the other side... Well, that's another story. For another day. Like never.
They wonder why I don't have eyes.
They really do.
Would you believe I took them out myself? And if you did, would you believe I had a very good, sane reason? Probably not. And that's why you're not part of it.
You wouldn't know about the eye bit if I didn't feel like letting you, though. My face changes when I want it to, and furthermore, I'm unseen when there's no point in being seen. There's a reason for that as well.

Weapons: My sword. That's my only real friend. It has inherently nothing to gain from betraying me, and should it turn on me I just have to shoot the b*****d holding it. My .357 is a favored acquaintance, my beautiful little six-shooter packed with magnum goodness. God didn't make everyone equal; I doubt he even exists. But you know who did? Samuel Colt.
Too bad that doesn't apply to vampires. I'd blow them away one by one.
Flare gun.
Modified super soaker.
And a 12-gauge in my trunk. Pistol grip pump-action goddess of buckshot. If my sword is my friend and my revolver's my acquaintance, this is my daughter.

Sire/Brood: I'm not even claiming that a*****e. I'm out for him.
Atridane, never resting in peace, not even in pieces. You tell me who else you know who can take a TEC-9 full of hot loads to the face, disintegrate to ash, and STILL blow s**t up.
There are others. But I don't talk to them. Think about the Civil War, when union and confederacy pitted families against each other. Welcome to my world.

Place of Origin: Pennsylvania.

Bio: I don't remember much of my life when I still had a pulse, but I do know what I've read of myself from notes by an old stalker. Atridane. Aside from being the stereotypical depressed youth after a rough life and the suicide of my father, I had an undeveloped sixth sense that made me exceedingly difficult to confront or capture, and that flourished in the wrong direction when the last drop of living blood left my body.
I don't remember anything else.
