OK so how do I join in on the horse races that are all over the internet in AWL? I can't open the horse shed, so how do I do it? Can anyone help me?

There is no horse races in AWL, AnWL, or AWL SE. There is a horse race in MM though. And the shed cannot be opened, ever.

Then how come everywhere, it says to save prior to attending the horse races so you can get as much money as you can?

That's probably for FoMT. If you save before the race, you can load then bet on the horses that won. They usually, but not always, win again.
As there are no horse races in AWL, this doesn't really work for this game. sweatdrop I wish there were more real festivals in AWL. *sigh*
