The winter days were long and rough on his delicate features, so Dorian figured it was the best time, if there ever could be a best time, for him to return back to the land he'd fled from as soon as he could. His parents' land.
Silver hooves dragged slowly across the snowy field, the impending conversations that were to come going around and around in his head. Of course, Mother would be speechless at first, as she always was, but thankfully for her, her youngest had a spectacular vocabulary to pick out from, so she'd be chattering in no time. Father, on the other hand... well, Father was Father, and that would never change. All he could do at this point would be put up with whatever questions dear Father was going to throw his way. Especially the ones concerning the fact he wasn't nearly as large and as strong as his brother Si, or the fact he'd stayed away from home for so long.
Oh, the pains of having a family.

Echo was delighted to have one of her darlings coming home. Especially now, with a little surprise for all of them in two little baskets on the ground. Khalon had been chattering at her for some time, angsting on and on about something having to do with making Dorian a man (but her baby boy was already a man, and Echo kicked him quite thoroughly right now any time she suspected the words were arising.)
But she did intend to berate him for neglecting his mother. He didn't even swing by to say hello. She could sort-of understand why he wouldn't want to see Khalon; goodness, she didn't want to half the time! But to not even do a fly-by and call a greeting to his loving mother?
She would get out and try to see Sigao and Resonance. From a distance, perhaps, but she was a busy mare. The point was, she was able to keep a bit abreast of their lives. In a very stalkerish manner. Where as, Dorian was never somewhere she could find them!

It wasn't hard to catch the beautiful silver curls of his petite mother, from whom he received his own gorgeous locks of hair. He knew he was forever in debt to her for his sinfully handsome appearance, as it was a fact he would never forget every time his teal eyes fell upon the older mare.
"Mother, darling," he remarked happily, his sluggish brooding quickly stepping up into a carefree trot, the stallion hoping to cut off any fussing before it could start, "How beautiful you look today! Why, the moon itself must be envious of your appearance, as you outshine any natural beauty it may provide to this cold world."
He leaned in to nuzzle and hug against his mother, but stopped cold in his tracks when he noticed two familiar looking objects near her hooves.
"Mo..mother," he faltered, his teal eyes growing wide, "Wh..what are those?!"

She snorted, leaning in to finish the hug and nuzzle, admiring her handsome son. All of her children were beautiful, and she was certain that these two would fall under the same category. Next to her, she heard Khalon clear his throat. "They are called baskets, son. You were in one once, for a short period of time, if you recall."
Echo nodded wisely, smiling at her partner, before turning intelligent, bright eyes to her third child. "Baskets. Twins. Boy and girl." She nuzzled them, and then smiled. "Need a favor, dear."
