Nefret was currently resting on a moss covered rock in the forest. She was near a swamp, she could tell, but much rather prefered being where it was try and where he golden trinkets were safe from sinking into mud or something else she considered messy. It was one of those times where she felt the need to fly away from her family and just think all by herself for some time. Her blue eyes scanned the area around her and her tail swished, making the sounds of her golden tail rings clinking together be heard by anyone nearby. It was a quiet day. A soft breeze rolled by and the young griffin sighed. She could almost call asleep in such peace.

Ripples ran across the murky swamp water as an indigo being made his way to the shallow end. Once there he surfaced, his radiant back scales glistening in multiple colors as the sun hit them. Sluggishly, Spectre made his way to a mossy log; crawling upon it to get a better view of his surroundings. Everything was as it usually was there...but wait! What is that creature but a few yards away? He'd never seen something like it before, and luckily it appeared that it hadn't noticed him yet. Cautiously he approached it, keeping low to the ground and in the shadows.

Nefret stood up slowly. She couldn't sleep here, not in the middle of this forest. Her father would throw a fit if she had let herself become so careless in the open. The rays of the sun the game from the tree relfected of her feathers, making the gold off her feathers and trinkets seem to sparkle. She stretched out her wings to get ready to take flight, but then she spotted something. The griffin froze. Something was moving around on the ground. Was it there to attack her?

Seeing the feathered creature move and look his way, Spectre stopped. He wasn't sure if it had really spotted him or not so he didn't want to risk getting any closer. Currently within the shade of a bushy shrub, he felt secure enough to remain still. His tail however had found its way into the light without his knowing, which was a dead giveaway to his location.

Nefret ruffled her feathers in attempt to hide a shiver that ran down her body. Something in the atmosphere seemed to have changed that was now making her even more nervous. "If someone is there please show yourself. I don't like being spied on... and.. I-I won't hurt you if you won't hurt me," She said, trying to sound more bold than nervous. Her voice still seemed to shake a bit. Her blue eyes looked over the area where she thought she had seen something soon catching sight of the tail. She hopped down from her rock and started to slowly wander over to it. 'If I lose sight of whatever this is... it may come back to bite me later.' Nefret didn't want to be someones lunch today. That was for sure.

Spectre listened carefully to the feathered one, feeling a little easy knowing that it wasn't aggressive. Slowly he peered around the shrub, not daring to expose more than his head. The feathered one however wasn't where he last saw her, which made him a bit worried. Where had it gone in that short sum of time? Had it fled like every other creature Spectre had come across due to his daunting appearance? Curiosity rose once more, and he began to slowly come out of his hiding place to see if the other had just moved to a different spot.

Nefret had come up to the tail. She curiously stared at it, raising one of her clawed paws to lightly tap it. She stopped as soon as she realized the other was moving out of the shrug. Quickly, she spun around and lightly gasped. She wasn't scared of him. Only surprised. Not to mention she had never seen one of his species before. "Oh-oh... there you are," She said and quickly withdrew her paw, not wanting the other to assume she was about to do anything weird like attempt to eat it. "Sorry if I... disturbed you or anything. Do you live around here....?" The griffin sat down to make herself seem like less of an intruder. Perhaps she should of checked the territory out first before resting on the rock...

Startled, Specre jumped backwards a little. He hadn't expected the other to have gotten behind him without being noticed, which made him feel a bit embarrassed. After taking a few steps back to further himself from the other, he sat up on his hind legs and shyly responded to her question. "Yes...I live here." He wrapped his tail around himself, and began to twiddle with its tip. "Sorry about...spying on you. I was...curious. I've never seen someone...like you here before. Have you been by...before?" He couldn't help but notice the fact that she didn't seem a bit fearful of him, which he found odd since his fangs were always visible and his claws well sharpened. Though his iridescent back scales reduced the effect of those.

Nefret smiled a little. Spying? So that's what he had been doing? "It's alright. I'm a stranger roaming around your home. It's understandable to be curious." She nodded and swished her tail over to curl around in front of her. Her tails rings could once again could be heard clinking together. She shook her head to his last question. "No... I've flown by it a few times. It looked calm and peaceful so I decided to take a rest from my flight." Her blue eyes looked over the other curiously. He was much taller than her and was obviously some sort of reptile. She couldn't place what he could be in her mind. "This.... might sound rude, but what species are you? I've never seen one like you before." She asked, hesitantly. The last thing she wanted was to offend the other.

"I'm...not entirely sure" Spectre answered, looking down. "I...don't remember but...I might be a Kangadile."That...is a species...isn't it?" he asked with uncertainty. He was wondering what the feathered one was herself, along with what those strange shiny rings on her were. He couldn't help letting his gaze set on them, as he'd yet to see something that could shine like his scales.

Nefret smiled and nodded. "Oh... I've heard about your kind before. My father used to travel around and see a lot of kimera. He told me something about a few living in a clan or something." Her eyes seemed to sparkle as she looked over that other curiously. "Yes... you do seem to match the description. I heard that story so long ago..." She clicked her beak once happily. "My name is Nefret. It's very nice to meet you mister...?" Her head tilted to the side as she waited for him to give her his name.

"Spectre" he answered, flicking his tail a little. He looked at her carefully, then asked "Are you...not at all afraid...of me? Ive...tried before...to talk to other creatures here but...they usually fled." He paused, thinking about it a little before adding, "I suppose...it could be because I look both aggressive and poisonous. Though...I am also a carnivore."

Nefret snickered a little at his words. "I might not be as big as you, but I don't scare easily. Besides, if you did attack me I would be able to put up enough of a fight to get away.. I think... Also were both carnivores so I'm used to speaking with carnivores.." She swished her tail and shook her head. "You're not that scary or that aggressive by the way you act. It's probably just your height and the fangs. A lot of kimera are rude enough to judge at a first glance. Don't take it personally... my own father gets a lot of fearful looks and he's only a griffin." She tilted her head as she studied him some more. "Course, that is just my first impression of you. I don't know you that well to give you a definite answer. Nice to meet you by the way."

"Oh...thankyou" Spectre said, smiling shyly. "Its...nice to meet you too, Nefret." His eyes caught glimpse of the sun, which was starting its descend towards the western mountains. He hadn't realized that the day was going by so quickly, and he had yet to go catch his afternoon fish. "I'm...sorry to keep you here for so long, you probably...have other things to be doing" he said abruptly, "And I...need to have my afternoon meal. I don't think it too wise...to be around a hungry Kangadile."

Nefret frowned a bit. She felt like she was just getting to start a conversation with the other. "No! No! Don't be... and... I could help you hunt if you like..." She looked at him suspiciously. "And if others run from you... how do you know you're dangerous when you're hungry? You seem to sweet to get... vicious.... No offense. Being one not easy to anger is a good quality. You seem... civilized."
