Over here in Utah, the worst weather I've had to march in would have been the first competition of '07. It was storming, freezing, hailing, and er...rain/sleeting. I felt really bad for the woodwind players. <3
What about you guys?

We only had one day of rain, our regional in New York, we didn't have any rain from the time the season started, it was blistering hot and we practiced on an parkinglot that was like 110 degrees. But it rained the entire weekend of our regional and it stopped just long enough for all the bands there to do their show. Only about 30 of the 100 showed up because of the rain. The astroturf was slick too, so that made things tough.

It wasn't our band but thunderstorms in Florida get really bad and the field was already muddy. It was pouring down rain and lightning in the dark and then the lightning caused a power serge and caused the power to go out on the field. So they were marching in the dark during a thunderstorm and kept going until the end of their show.

eesh, my worst weather experience doesn't level up at all!
We were an hour away and right when we got out of the buses and into the stands it started pouring (all we get down here in Florida is humidity and rain..which can really suck for the woodwinds and their pads might I add) so we had to get back into the buses for another 20 minutes just to go back out to get rained on again! I had to get my instrument cleaned out professionally and had to have the pads checked. It was horrible in that aspect!

well the worst i've had here in ohio was when we were waiting for the team to come so we could play the National Anthem. out of no where it starts pouring down rain. the field was mud in about 20 secs. and to top it off, once we played and started to march off, one of the tubas hit a mini sink hole and got stuck. it took 3 guys to get him out, but we lost the shoe.

We only marched half the routine. It was my very first game and it was lightning, thundering, and on and off pouring. It was an away game so we couldn't go inside. The woodwinds stood under an awning while us tough a** brass stood outside with the drum major and sang stands tunes. rofl We had so much fun! People stopped and took pictures when we sang our closing, "good night sweetheart".

Here in Oregon we get the heat and the freezing.
Our worst weather was probably when it was pouring down rain and then started to hail while it was about 33 degrees, almost freezing. We were also on a field that is currently above our school's septic tank and sewage was seeping up and the field was so "muddy" that pools of "water" started to form because there was so much rain.
But that's usually near the end of the season.
At the beginning, in August, we get 100 degree weather.

Our worst weather here in TN is just about every practice. I remember last year, it kept changing from hot one day to cold the next day, and sometimes it would go from extremes during the day!
Example: It had been blazing hot the past few days, so just about everyone was wearing shorts and t-shirts. Well, when we got up on the hill to practice, it started out ok, a chilly, but nothing too bad. After about 30 mins or so, a little after we finished stretching and about halfway through basics, a giant gust of freezing cold air came by. After that, the temperature steadily dropped. And dropped. And dropped. And...you get the picture. Well, after that, maybe about 7/8 through practice, the director decided to discuss something with one of our drum techs, while it was frickin' cold, the wind was blowing, and we had to stand still. (We were still officially at standby, but no one really paid much attention to that. Not even the drum majors.) So there I was, holding a big chunk of brass tubing (Trombone), trying to get warm, in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, in around 30 F degree or so. Apparentally, I wasn't the only one who was cold. The majority of the rest of the band were huddled into little clusters.
With their hands in their pants/shorts. I don't know about you, but seeing about 120 people, standing/sitting on a hill, in 30 degree weather, in shorts and t-shirts, huddled around with their hands around their groins, was one of the strangest things I've ever experienced.
But I'm sure there's others with better stories.

Our worst conditions were probably when it was freezing rain, and the temperature was really low. Our gloves got soaked; I could see my skin right through them. We didn't stay the whole time because our instruments could get messed up; there was a little bit of rust in my clarinet afterwards.

My worst experience would probably be DCA finals in 2006 in Rochester, NY. The remnants of hurricane Ernesto were up in that area and it was at its worst point right as we stepped on the field. So we were marching, there were very strong winds and a lot of rain. The wind blew off my aussie and it hit somebody behind me.

Hot, humid, and the rain slanted at an angle due to the wind so it only soaked one side. Due to this, there was room for the wind to create dust whirlwinds that hurt like a b***h. Dx

Our band camp week was pretty bad. It was about 90+ degrees like everyday. I ended up getting heat rash and sunburn... >_< As for performing, I would have to say OMEA State Finals. The wind was blowing hard and it was really cold.. >.< A band who performed earlier than us had plumes flying, people falling, and it was a mess.

Just the cold and a little bit of rain. But I play the piccolo and the flute so my fingers wouldn't hardly move off a B flat.
