 Her name was Horowai and it was a suitable name for more reasons than one. Her colour was that of a raging waterfall tumbling from a cliffside, dark and dangerous where it begins, but frothy and light where it connects with the river once again.
And the other reason...?
Well anyone who knew Horowai well knew of the torrent of emotions that could flow from her. She may not be Queen of the lionesses, but she certainly was the queen of drama.
But today Horowai had dwindled from the centre of her clan's settlement to stray the outskirts, annoyed and angry that no one was paying the slightest bit of attention to her. Instead she was settled by a stream, her piercing eyes watching the rustle of leaves. She had watched the procession of a little green frog, hopping from water to leaf and then into water again. It had been this frog that had alerted her to spying eyes somewhere in the trees beyond the water.
"Who are you...?" Horowai whispered. She had been watching the trees for a while now, searching for a glimpse of the stranger, desperate to discover who it was that she had been searching for. Then a smirk crossed her face. Maybe, just maybe if she found this spy and presented it to her sister, she might get a little deserved attention.
She stood, her joints cracking from where she had been lying down for so long.

Kawarimono who was named after a japanese koi fish stuck out her head from inside a bush, she was looking for some water...a stream, a river or any little pool of water would do. Kawarimono didn't know why but without water she was unhappy sure all life needed water to live but she loved it a little more atleast accourding to herself.
The lioness had a very bright almost shocking orange coat she some yellow was covering her head and tail tip and her eyes was bright purple. Nothing on this lioness was natural. Kawarimono had came to these lands together with her 2 sisters since they before belonged to a clan called Tarka.
The female wagged her tail and looked around she sniffed with her little nose to try pick something up but this place was so new to her that most things smelled wierd.

Not noticing the approaching orange female, Horowai remained focused on the otherside of the bank. She stepped forwards, the stream splashing up to babble over her toes. Like Kawarimono she adored the water, but it was the sound of it she adored. She'd prefer not to swim or step into it if she didn't need to. But, she could lie all day listening to the roar of the waterfall of the happy babbling of the streams. It was beautiful and nowadays it was the only thing to bring her troubled soul peace.
However, she wasn't focused on the water at the moment. No, she was focused on what lay hidden in those trees. So, finally growing bored of watching, she filled her lungs with air and released a firm yell.
"Stop hiding this instant! Do you hear me?" She stamped a foot, wincing as water splashed up to sparkle on her chest. "Come out!"
As predicted, the bushes rustled, a faint flicker of red shimered through the greenery and then faded from view as quickly as it came.
Anger flashed through the blue lioness' eyes and she took another step, wincing at the cold water on her fur. "Fool! Don't you know who I am? I am of the Nihang Clan! Sister of the Queen!" And...nothing more than a pitiful Gasht...though she didn't mention that last part. No, that wouldn't do at all. She needed to seem important, that way she'd be far more intimidating.
But it didn't work. The stranger remained hidden and the blue lioness kicked at the water, sending a spray up into the air. With this action came a high-pitched scream, venting her frustration. "Eeeeehhhhhh!" And here came the tantrum...

The Kawarimono perked her ears forward was someone screaming? was it at her? did she do something stupid? many questions popped up into her head but the best she could do was to go and find out who was screaming. The orange female continued slowley forward until she spotted a blue colored lioness...
Oh so there was someone here after all. A smile spread over her face it was probably a female that was from a clan she knew or atleast she hoped that since the female had blue fur.
" Hallo over there! how come you are screaming? "
Kawarimono asked and flicked her tail.

Horowai, whipped around so fast it seemed she might break her neck from the motion. Her blue, speckled body tensing at the strange voice. She may have screamed again if the voice had not been female and brought others running to her aid. Oh wouldn't that have been wonderful!
But, the female she saw was not one she recognised, though clearly from her pelt she was a part of the pride. Orange, light, beautiful. This lioness had been blessed with a wonderful coat.
"Because." And she stamped her paw in a childish tantrum. "The beast over there refuses to come out when I ask it and I don't want to cross the stream to get it." She frowned. "Probably the work of one of those irritating males." She glanced around as if trying to locate the accused.
"Anyway, it's been watching me and I don't like it." Which was odd, because usually Horowai loved attention. "If they just came out to say hello, revealed themselves to me, then they could give me all the attention they wanted! But I don't like sneaks! I feel like an antelope." She turned back to the trees.
"Do you see it?"

Kawarimono looked rather confused she wasn't the brightest sometimes and slowley she walked up to the other female to see what she was talking about since she couldn't really figure out what she ment..
" Umm who is watching you? i guess it's not me you are talking about "
She said with a gentle smile and tilted her side to the left and watched the female she had a blue coat it reminded her of water somehow witch made her a little jelous since she loved blue and she loved water.
" Hmm maybe the beast you are talking about is shy? "
But Mono could admit it would be nice to come out and say hallo like she did just now it would be rude to just sit there and hiding and don't come out to greet a person of the same pride.

"No not you." Horowai continued, her voice a little whiny. "The thing over there." She waved a paw at the bushes growing on the otherside of the river and narrowed her eyes accusingly. "You I can trust. You're a girl." She nodded as if that made everything okay.
Then, she wrinkled her nose and stepped closer to the orange female, turning to face the bushes once more. Her nose wrinkled, she willed the wind to change, but it did not.
"Maybe it's a male." Her voice dripped with disgust. Useless things. Oh if only females could reproduce without their aid. She shivered at the thought of them getting their mucky paws on her and stepped a little closer to the orange female.
"If it is a male I'll claw his eyes out, then he won't be able to stare at me anymore. That'll teach him for sneaking after a lady!"
The bushes rustled and Horowai's body went rigid. "Did you see that? I was right! There's some foul male hiding there!"

Kawarimono blinked and looked at the bushes that the blue lioness was pointing towards but what if it was a male? well that wouldn't do her anything she tought males was good since if there wasn't any males how else would there be more lions?
Sure the pride was dominant with females but they still needed males all species needed males but she didn't mention that to do other female she would probably just get more grumpy.
" Oh? well maybe it's a secret fan? that would be cute tough "
There couldn't be anything wrong with a lion liking another lion could it?
Kawarimono was still not sure what the female would think about that.

Horowai had never much had a single, short conversation with a male. She had only ever had fleeting glances and as far as she was concerned males were lower than the bugs that tried to crawl in her ears as she slept.
No, she certainly didn't need males, thank you.
However, Kawarimono's words did hit a weakness in her armor and the blue preened with delight, though she cut off any sound of a purr just so that it wasn't so obvious she quite liked the thought of that.
"Well, they can certainly admire me." She continued. "But like I said, not in secret. It makes me feel uncomfortable." She wriggled and turned to the orange female, suddenly realising that she couldn't quite remember the girl's name.
"I'm Horowai of the Nihang Clan. Sorry, I can't seem to put a name to the face."

Kawarimono listend to what the unknown female had to say but she guessed that was how they where suppose to be most of the girls here didn't need males but when it came to cubs they would probably be needed since it was impossible to get cubs without a male..
" Oh i am Kawarimono from the Tarka clan i came here with my two sisters "
She said with a smile and sat down she had never seen or met this Horowai either but there as many new faces here mostly she had just seen her two sisters before she came here she hadn't been meeting many lions at all since all the clans was so split up.
" Well it's nice to meet you~~ "

"That's a mouthfull of a name." The blue lioness replied. It wasn't teasing, it was just matter-of-fact. She flicked her ears and allowed herself to relax a little. Hey, maybe she was even making a friend here.
"I think you're the first to say that to me in...well...forever." She laughed. "Being dark pelted and all that." The Gasht shrugged. Her rank had never bothered her, though it did mean she didn't warrant as much attention as she thought she deserved.
"It's nice to meet you too Kawari." She replied. Then, flicking back an ear, her whole body tensed. Horowai was a huntress, her skills were sharpened and her ears were quick and keen. Something behind her was moving! Trying to make off whilst she had her back turned no doubt!
She whipped around, growling and snarling. Froth gathered on her jowls, her eyes were wild with anger - an overreation of course, but that was what Horowai was known for! "Don't sneak off! I'll kill you, boy. Just wait th--" Her words were cut off and her eyes widened in surprise.
"What the--" Again words failed her. "Kawari, what the hell is that thing?"
The red leopard was not coloured like a typical leopard. She was a smooth red all over except for white paws and a white heart-shape printed upon her forehead. She had been attempting to make a get-away - though in order to do so she needed to step onto the bank to get around an impossible thicket that she had been attempting to break through before.
Her progress had been halted by a lioness who had refused to give in. Now, that same lioness was staring at her, joined with another and Hera thought hr heart would never be again.
She stood frozen on the far-side of the riverbank like a rabbit in headlights. Her eyes were large and round, her ears were pinned, her whole body was rigid. She couldn't speak, her lungs were too tight, but she gave a sort of frightened wheezing sound that should have been a hiss.

Mono nodded her sisters had easier names then she did but she guessed her parents just tought that named suited her. It was fish name after all so it was perfect <3
" Oh ok well just call me Mono or Kawari if you think my name is to long i don't mind.. "
Then the orange female went back to listen to the blue coated female and peeking inside the bushes maybe it wasn't a male after all...maybe it was something else? she tought she saw something red in there but she had no idea what gender or specie it was..
" Hallo? umm would you in there mind comming out? "
She said to the red thing inside the bushes.

Horowai seemed hysterical. She wasn't really afraid but she was determined to get some attention. She imagined the clan running to aid her, finding her being stalked by a strange red demon of the trees! They'd have to protect her, comfort her! Yes, perfect! The only way this could go wrong now was if the leopard really did turn out to be nasty. She didn't want anything scarring her hide.
"A m-monster! She shrieked. "Kawari, don't talk to it!!" She sidled closer to her orange companion, seeking her for protection. Pathetic, really, for a warrior lioness.
Tyen, giving a frightened roar towards the red creature, Horowai decided to get things moving a little. Yes. Horowai the saviour! She could get used to that.
Hera, hearing the roar, seeing the hysterical lioness, trembled all the way from her nose to the tip of her tail. Her sides heaved, she panted and her golden eyes were filled with raw terror.
Her ears heard Kawarimono's words but she didn't seem to heed them. Besides, even if the orange one wanted to be friends, the blue one certainly did not.
Snapping from her trance the young leopard charged through the stream, seeming as if she would head towards the lands. Then, with an incredible strength, she launched herself up the nearest tree. The sound of breaking branches rustled as she moved her way from one branch to another.

Kawarimono looked at Horowai well if the creature had wanted to attack it would probably would have done so now so she guessed the creature wasn't really in a mood of picking fights with two lions since the red creature was just one.
Maybe the red creature had been resting and it was she and Horowai that botherd it..
" I am sure if it wanted to attack us it would have done so by now and by the way we are two and the creature is only one "
The orange female wasn't worried but Horowai seemed to be still so i guess she could do nothing about it more then try to talk to Horowai to calm down a little..

"You're right, I guess." Horowai deflated a little, "to be honest I thought it would put up more of a fight." She gave a shrug and then swept herself up into a more dominant posture. "Come on Kawari, lets go interrogate the trespasser." Horowai stalked towards the tree-bound leopard like a member of the mafia.
"Hey, you up there! Red, cat, monster...thing!" She glared upwards with her piercing green eyes, Eyes that seemed vibrant amongst the sea of blue that was her pelt.
"Don't you know this is lioness territory? You can't go sticking your big, ugly nose in here." She stomped a paw. "Come down this instant."
The lioness reared up to lean against the tree, using her whole weight to shake the branches, hoping to shake the leopard free in the process.
"P-p-p-please, don't do that." Hera's claws dug deep into bark, sent splinters raining down on the lioness below. A terrified squeal rumbled from her throat as she tried to keep her balance. Her tail coiled around the trunk like a snake and her eyes were wild with fright.
Her gaze switched from the blue to the orange, apparently the calmer of the two females. "P-please. Let me go. I won't c-come back again."
Was this it? Would she be shaken to the ground and mauled by those...terrible claws!
