Name Jethro Nathaniel Dare.

Age 31.

Gender Male.

Race Human.

Class Sailor.

Eyes Hazel.

Hair Golden brown.

Appearence His hair is a soft, straight, golden brown that falls to his shoulders when kept down. Often, it is tied at the base of his neck with a tattered string. His clothing is kept clean; covering his chest is a cotton shirt with bell sleeves that cuff at the wrist. The shirt is slightly torn toward the neck, so Jethro threaded a thin leather strip through the tear and pulled it back together. Round his waist is a thick black belt with various rings used for holding sheathed weapons. Only one of these is used, however, for a foot-long dagger on his right side. On his legs are faded maroon slacks that loosen toward his feet, and the bottoms of his trousers are tucked neatly into the top of his large brown boots. Jethro stands at about six feet tall and is well built and muscular. His eyes are of the deepest brown and contrast nicely with his hair. Around his neck hangs a loose silver chain, and a little golden ring serves as the pendent.

Personality Jethro is a very interesting man. While he has his moments of kindness and benevolence he mainly keeps that side of him in constant check. Tumulting inside his burning heart is a pure hatred for pirates and any of the like; his soul has been blackened by the ways of the greedy seafarers. Jethro has devoted his entire life to killing every pirate he comes across - but only men, for he believes that women and children still can be saved from piracy. Yet do not be deterred from liking him just on the basis of this fact. When around others that he views as friends, Jethro is a magnanimous and gentle man. His soft spot resides with women, as it does with many, and he indulges himself in fantasies of one day marrying and raising a family on a ship of his own, a ship filled with pirate bounty hunters. It is his insane obsession with pirates that has driven him to this point of minute madness; and while he is lucid and still tactful and smart, Jethro can regress to a more primitave anger and lash out at the nearest man. When pirates are mentioned, anyway.

History When Jethro was young, his mother and father ran a flower shop in Tortuga. The little boy was very displeased with such a girly profession to be born into, and his younger sister Clara seemed to sense his grief. It was for this reason that she would often sneak him out of the house to go work in the neighboring hospital, for they both agreed that medicine was a more manly profession. Jethro was very reliant and close to Clara; he even aspired to one day open a medicine shop of his own and name it after her. As the two grew older, many town inhabitants noticed an awkward fondness between the two siblings and began to suspect the worst. Clara and Jethro denied the accusations of incest up and down, but both of them knew that a shred of the lies were true about them. The sister and brother slipped into a deep depression, confused about their feelings for each other and hating that they had them. Clara was the most despondent, and it was her that made the choice to flee the village and her love for her brother. She left him a little golden band that she'd worn around her ring finger and a note that declared she was to join other "lunatics equal to her lunacy; pirates". Jethro never recovered from the loss of his sister. He strung the ring on a silver chain and wore it around his neck, tucked underneath his chest and closer to his heart, always. He gave up medicine and left home, wandering around the streets and living in taverns, trying to make sense of his life. Then he chose to take the life opposite to his sister's - a sailor, an explorer of grandeur. And he would devote his entire life to slaying every pirate he came across.
