Are you a person that can identify any note by just hearing it? Are people jealous of you for having such a gift?
Everyone hates me because of it. I mean ear training, no brainer.

Pft... If I could do that ti would be a miracle...
I could probebly identify a trombone's note if it was in the B flat scale and I have a minute to think about it but other wise? Pshaw right...

Through ringing a tuning fork into my ear every night for several months, I can generally sort of identify an A 440 when someone plays it. I used to be really envious of people who did have absolute pitch, but after reading the chapter on it in Musicophilia, I don't mind as much.

i'm a clarinetist/saxophonist/singer...i know all about perfect/absolute pitch...and yes...i was born with the gift so to say. honestly in college i got a lot of ear training and that heightened my audio ear function. i can tell you if you're playing an A bass clef or a B flat alto clef. i can tell you in a d minor scale if you are playing ti or te...re or ri...anything like that. i'm a sophomore in college. i'm also a music education major. in high school being able to tell you what note you were playing helped b/c i was drum major and as such my band director figured i knew it all and could figure it out on my own...god...he was right! lol!

I kind of do, I suppose... I have a lot of ear troubles (over six surgeries... Yikes!). I try my best, and I seem to do okay with identifying notes by ear.

I envy people with perfect pitch. It freaking amazes me.
But I've also gotten much much better with pitch identification as of late.

i don't have perfect pitch, just relative. if i can hear the original note i can tell if it's sharp or flat, but not otherwise. even only being able to do that, everybody else asks me to help them tune because they have even worse pitch.
