Day 1
I wandered about the streets as usual, this night seemingly no different then all the others, except probably more humid and sticky. I still don't remember what happened very next clearly, but I think it was she who ran into me, knocking me over a clinging to me. I looked down and my eyes went wide, she was beautiful. A small child with deep blue hair and red streaks, tears glistened in her sky blue eyes as she looked up at me. And get this, she had wings! That's right, she looked like something out of a children's book, she looked like a fourth of July angel. A woman came running after her and I couldn't speak. The woman very out of breath sighed, "I apologize. Liberty... come on."
I looked at the woman then at the child, "Is she yours? Her name is... Liberty?"
"Mine?! No no no, I just took her out because she said she wanted to see the real people... she's up for adoption, we need someone to take care of her. Her name is indeed Liberty and she's like no other child."
"Adopt? Like no other?" At the time this made no sense to me.
"She's a phoenix child." The woman said simply as if bored.
"A phoenix... like... can I... can I adopt her?"
"Well you see, it's not just free, and well..."
Then the child clinging to me looked up at me and I smiled down at her, she smiled back. "Name your price..."
"It's two thousand."
I nodded, and looked at Liberty, "Sweetie can you let go a moment?"
Liberty quietly let go sitting in front of me on her knees. I reached into my pocket and took out a check, with my neat cursive writing I wrote the amount and handed it to her. The woman was a little befuddled but nodded, "Take care of her. Goodbye Liberty."
Liberty at that point would only cling to me, I remember finding it hard to stand up. When I finally managed it I took her hand and led her home. She rarely said anything but was always curious. I watched her from my kitchen table with a glimmering look of proudness. I still can't believe what I've done. I've decided to keep this journal, for me and for her, for my darling Liberty.

Day 2
I think from this point onward, Liberty can write her own entries, I'll just add my own comments here and there. She'll tell her story the way she wants and that's all I can ask for. I know my angel is truly creative and will make this journal a masterpiece.
Mother asked me to continue my own journal, I ... really don't know what to put. I guess all the things I want to say but can't will go here, all my feelings, everything. All the words I don't say... I don't really know why I don't speak. I guess I just don't want to or don't feel like I should. Speaking can get someone in trouble if you're not careful, that's what I think... or... I think I think that. I'm still pretty confused about mostly everything and I don't understand what's going on. Mother is editting my journal for me, she says it'll help me later on. I s'pose I like being a small little girl, I don't know why... well today, Mother gave me permission to go the park. There were so many great things, she says I can go tomorrow if I'm good! I really love it, everything is so amazing. Every single ... um... I forgot the word, it's a green little thing... Mother says... Mother says it's a leaf... every ... leaf is amazing. The way it.... it squishes and crinkles? I think those are the words... perhaps I'll ask Mother to continue my journal a little longer...

Day 3
I'm quite honored that my lovely has asked me to keep writing and I suppose she can't explain what happened today anyway. I think my sweet Liberty is still confused so I'll explain it more when I can but right now let me write it down so it's kept in here and the date is not lost. Today, my dear boyfriend came to visit me. Liberty was confused by him, not understanding why he would hug me the way I hugged her. And I'm not sure my boyfriend understood why Liberty had wings... but I guess.... I guess it's all okay, he didn't seem to mind her. Not like I care. If he did I don't think he would've been my boyfriend very long... heh, so anyway... my lovely wanted to see if she hugged him, if he'd hug her the same way he hugged me. I remember laughing at the thought, but she did indeed hug him, and he returned her hug saying she was cute. And then I myself pulled Liberty into my arms, she only came up to a little above my waist as of yet, and I just smiled. Soon afterwards he left, but I think Liberty approves of him, and he shall be seen again. After he left, Liberty sat down with me and I read to her, it was a wonderful story called Ice and Snow... maybe I'll tell it here sometime, but as for now, it's late, and Liberty's already asleep. I think I shall follow suit.

Day 5
I apologized to Liberty and I also apologize in advance to any who may read this someday... I spent all of yesterday teaching Liberty things, she's become pretty timid and antisocial and I'm worried that this will badly affect her as a teenager. I taught her a bunch of things, like good manners, and I took her outside a lot and introduced her to many and taught her to interact. I was so exhausted I found it hard to do much, she's trying to take me to the park right now and I wanted a quick entry before I run off and get tired again. She has also been asking where Dai is... I myself don't know, so this will keep ours minds on something else...

Day 6
I... I had to lock Liberty in her room today, she just wouldn''t understand. Daisuke was horrific today, really angry, in front of her too, and it hurt and upset me, she just didn''t understand. She was upset because of what I did. I yelled at her, I... was flustered, I have apologized to her and me and her are writing this together. I think it''d be better if she went on from here.
Momma started yelling and crying because of Dai... Dai was really scary and he just glared at both me and Momma. Momma tried to politely snuff out her tears and send me to my room but I sadly protested trying to cling, Momma then raised her voice and I got scared and ran off to my room. From down the hall I heard their awful bickering, words I didn''t know, words I''d never heard Momma say. Then the front door slammed and I ventured out to find Momma colapsed in tears on the floor, I ran over to her and hugged her tight. She held me close to her for a long while. I guess we''re all alone again...

Day 8
Momma's gone... she left me alone, just for a while she said. She said there was an add in the newspaper and she said she might have just enough to give me a surprise present... I wonder what it is? She said she'd only be gone for a bit... she'll be back soon... and I hope she wins whatever it was... she said there was a chance she wouldn't be able to get what it was, but she promised me to not bring up my hopes. I believe in her, and I think this chance she's given me to be by myself will make me stronger... I think I can try to stop being so afraid... I don't want to be afraid of others.. I think I'll leave it at that today and go outside to play! Bye!

Day 9
Momma came back today! She had a cute little cat in her arms, or at least it looks like a cat, Momma said it was called a Kazimir. It's name is Arzulee and she's uber adorable! She's a tiny little pale green Kazimir cub. Momma says that we've gotta take uber special care of her. It'll be my job, she'll be put in my care. Mom is trying to teach me responsibility. It's a big word and has an important meaning but I think it'll be all right. She also says that Arzulee is no ordinary cub and will be able to talk soon. I find that amazing and enjoy keeping her around. Currently she's just trying to page at my ---
The rest of the page has been ripped away with huge bite marks in it.

Day 11
There is nothing new to report unfortunately... I think I'm making new friends... I hope they're my friends... I think one of them was called Raven he was an all black hououza kodomo... I think that's what I am... Arzulee is good, she likes to sit in my lap. It's cute.

Day 17
It's been so long since I've written, Momma went away and I stood on our porch with Arzulee waiting for her, she's going to be gone a few more days, she says if she wins what she hopes to win she'll have another friend for me, I'm so pleased! Momma cares so much for me, I just wish she'd spend more time with me, aside from Arzulee, I'm all alone. I don't know so many things and it's so frustrating and upsetting... I'm learning new words by myself and I'm correcting my own journal, it wastes time...
