It has come to my attention that not many people realize what a furrie is exactly. Thus, I have created a board for all of you who want to know more, or just have random a** questions on the furry community. As the only furrie in the guild and as a newish furrie at that, I will try my hardest to answer your questions. Please reframe from flaming, or otherwise hurting the furrie population. This is a questions thread… Not a public execution. Though feel free to ask touchier questions. Just don’t full out insult, alright?

I really don't know. It very well could have been some misprint on some website a long time ago. EIther way, Furrie is just the more savy way of furry. Strange, yes.

The word “Furrie” can mean different things. Literally, it’s a person who feels that they are strongly connected with animals or a specific animal. Not sexually of course, that’s bestiality and a whole different thing. A furrie is anyone who likes the furrie fandom, believes that he or she is an animal in human skin, has the spirit of an animal, mentality of an animal, or even just likes to draw and or write about them. It’s really a self proclaimed thing. In certain religions, it is common for the spirit of an ancestor to be placed in the body of another animal after death. This, in turn, can work in reverse. A person who finds themselves acting like an animal, liking animals, even worshiping animals may not be a furrie. It’s a sort of fandom, like anime. I, for example, am a lion furrie even though I like tigers. In essence I feel more connected to a lion and sometimes even pose as one. (Hehe) I draw furries, chat on furrie boards, and meet and greet furrie friends. A common misconception is that furries are just a sexual fetish. This is wrong, but can be close also. I, myself, don’t find sexual intercourse in a ‘fur’ suit or body paint in any way appealing, but others can. Also, contrary to popular belief, not all furries are gay men. I’m straight, and there are plenty of women furries out their also. Much like extreme racism toward blacks in History, furries can be hated or singled out because they are different. So, without dragging this on to much more, I’ll end it with this: Furries are many different types of people in many different settings. Today, we just have one general definition, furries, are furries. :3 Does this help?

Would you equate it like transgendered people do, as "being born into the wrong body" or more like just being born into a different body than you'd expect without it actually being wrong? ...if you get what I'm saying sweatdrop

Well its a mix also. I perosnally would love to be a lion but I'm content as a human. (And an anthromorphic lion would kick a**. heart ) Some people will say that they are in thw wrong body. :3
