Character Name: Wahkan "Jarret" Shadow-Bear
Age: 30
Sex: Male
Race: Native American; Sioux
Birthplace: Sioux Indian Reservation, Minnesota
Current Home: Odessa, Texas
Occupation: Primatech "Employee"
Appearance: Jarret is 6'5" tall with dark eyes, dark hair, and brown skin. He's built like a brick wall, able to lift over 300 pounds easily. His long, thick black hair is usually tied back in a pony tail.
He usually dresses in business men attire. Collared shirts, slacks, suit coats, and leather shoes. Every now and then he is seen wearing a beaded bracelet. Also, he has a tattoo on the right side of his neck, directly under his ear.
Personality: He's the strong, silent type. Jarrett is very intimidating, simply because of his size and intense stare. He is very serious, always putting his job first.
He can seem very distant, but in truth he has a big heart. His one weakness is animals, they always melt his heart.
He cares for little else other than his job. Jarrett compares his job to working for Homeland Security. He is working to stop those who would endanger the earth, or so he thinks.
Power Description: Animal Transcendence
Jarrett can take on the characteristics and abilities from animals he has came in contact with. Also, he can speak to the animals.
Greatest Strength: He can be as strong as an ox, swift as a deer, breathe underwater, and even blend in with his surroundings like a Chameleon. If he's come in contact with an animal, he can mimic it's strengths.
Greatest Weakness: He can also mimic an animal's weaknesses.
Like gaining a bat's hearing, along with it's poor eye sight.
The longer he stays in 'animal form' the more savage he gets. If he mimics an animal for more than three hours straight he will lose his humanity, and be stuck in that 'form'. It seems possible to become human again, but Jarrett hasn't had to test that out yet.
Biography: Jarrett was born in a Sioux Indian Reservation in Minnesota. He is a full-blooded Sioux Indian, his real name being Wahkan.
His father left his mother when he was very young, and it was just her, Wahkan, and their half-wolf dog for a few years. He was in school before his mother re-married. It wasn't long before he had a baby sister.
Wahkan went through school, but with one major distraction. He was fascinated with animals. The teachers would often comment to his parents that he "would converse with the class pet." He did no better in school than any of the other children.
When he was eleven his birth father returned to the Reservation. The birth father was angry at Jarrett's mother for remarrying. He was going to beat his ex-wife, but the family dog got to the birth father first. Jarret's birth father was killed, and the dog had to be put down. Since the other kids thought Jarrett was strange, and made fun of him for talking to the animals, his only friend was that dog. Jarrett said goodbye to the dog, and was present when it was put down. Since then, he had never put much effort into making friends. He still had his sister, mother, and stepfather, and he became very close to his family.
Jarrett graduated from high school and went on to major in Zoology in College. He was then employed at the Austin Zoo in Austin, Texas.
It is unsure why the Native American quit his job at the Austin Zoo to work at a Paper Company. It is also unsure what came of his family, for he no longer communicates with them.
