It have been awhile since Coventina left the herd to do some self-exploring and to find herself. The winter haven't been easy on her as she tries to keep herself warm by staying near the hot springs or in the forest where some of the foliage could provide little to none of warmth and comfort. She is in her 'fairy' size as she flutters across the open space in the forest and the strong wind with swirling snow suddenly blew by. Coventina squeaked as she tries to stay airborne but the wind knocked her right out of the air and she is now stuck in the snow.

"Oh no..." Coventina whispers to herself as she tries to push herself out of the snow while her small limbs and wings flailed around.

How many miles had he marched in this snow? Cliffs, fields, forests, streams, brooks, rivers... they all passed by in the same white cloak. Sometimes the skies differed, cloudy or not, sometimes ice was thrown about him in twirls and nips by the force of wind. Always he walked on, or perhaps trotted, or even galloped if the ground was smooth enough and he trusted no tripping obstacle was lurking and waiting for him.

Now was not only a time to watch his hooves, but to squint against the flying specks of frozen raindrops and tiny ice art. His ears twitched in heavy annoyance, head bent low to the ground in hopes of avoid most of the spray.

It was probably the only reason he spotted her.

Jaci stopped, blinking at the tiny figure caught in the snow. "Er... are you alright?" he question seemed rather insignificant, what with the little creature's flails going on and such. He glanced around, unsure of how to help. After all, being stuck in the snow didn't exactly sound like an act done on purpose, so... okay, so how to help without causing damage was what he was really looking for.

"Sorry if this hurts at all," he muttered quickly before nudging the snow around her with his muzzle, not at all trusting his hooves in a situation like this.

A little flutter flailed around for while but her rescuer came by and startled her so badly to the point where she just froze right there. Her seafoam green eyes went wide as she stares at the HUGE stallion helplessly, not sure if he is is going to crush her or help her out of this snow trap. His voice reached to her ear and its almost like it caused her to come back to life (mentally wise). "I-I am f-fine" she tries to speak through the chattering teeth.

Coventina tries to be patient as she waits for the right opporunity to flee from the snow trap with Jaci's help. The second she felt the snow fall away from her body, she suddenly jumps up and flew right to Jaci's mane. "S-so cold!!" She mumbles as she buries herself in his mane, shivering violently. After few minutes of her teeth chattering and her little body shaking with shivers, Coventina slowly climbs toward Jaci's muzzle. "Thank you for rescuing me.." She smiles faintly, not liking the notion of being caught in this kind of situation.

The cold against his nose made him wince, moving slowly to avoid any possible harm to the tiny winged mare. Once it seemed a particular amount had been pushed aside, he jumped as she suddenly darted up to his mane. Well... this was weird.

The stallion blinked a few times, keeping his head to the ground with ears twitching this way and that as he listened to her shivers and teeth chatters. What else could he do but stay still and let her do as she must to regain warmth? Wasn't like he could find dry twigs and branches, and the necessary stones to spark up a fire. Well... maybe he could, but in this weather, he doubt it would stay alive for long. Still though, he couldn't help but feel a bit bad he couldn't do much to help.

When he felt her hooves on his face, he slowly brought his head up to a more even level to help keep her from falling. Although, when he spotted her pale orange wings, he suddenly doubted falling would be such an issue for her.

"Of course," he responded civilly to her words, bowing his head a fraction of an inch before bringing it back to its original height. "It wouldn't have been very kind of me just to keep on walking and just leave now, now would it?" He shrugged slightly, offering her a smile... which he suddenly wondered if she could even see, given her position.

He continued to watch her, for a moment in silence, before his expression twisted in confusion. "Sorry if this at all seems rude, but... what are you? I've never seen someone so small before, or with wings like that. I mean, my brother and mother have wings like a bat, and my sister has wings of a bird... but none like butterflies. Never mind so small." He'd never even known horses could be that small. Was there an entire breed of tiny equines runn-... er, flying around that he'd never even noticed before? Perhaps, since he would have missed her completely if he hadn't been keeping his head so low.

A second thought struck, confusion fading away with his semi-alarmed blinks. "Ah, my apologies. I ask such a blunt question, but I haven't even introduced myself yet. Jaci, miss. I hope I haven't offended you."

Coventina is very grateful that the stallion didn't force her out or she will definitely die in the cold. She smiles slightly at the respectful stallion as he lifted his muzzle to the level where she doesn't have to flap her wings to keep her balance or falling off. "Some soquilis would have done that since I am just a small flutter.." She shrugs her wings slightly as she takes off into the air then slowly grows to the regular size of a small winged mare, almost up to Jaci's neck. "This is better.." She mutters half to herself.

"I am a flutter.. almost like wings but with butterfly or other bug wings." Coventina calmly explains. "It would be boring if we all have the same wings, yes?" She shot him a geniune smile. "Of course you didn't offend me, Jaci. I am Coventina." She bows slightly to show some respect. "its my pleasure meeting you, sir."

He nodded slightly to her words, a physical manifestation of the gears whirling and twirling at the new information. A Flutter, she'd said. Was that what her kind were called? A fascinating thing to hear of, really, although actually hearing such creatures were real... It was the first time in a long while Jaci considered his nomadic life a blessing.

"I don't see why the would, though, if they'd spotted you. I see no gain for them to just leave you. But to help? I gained the chance to meet someone knew in a barren place like this, not to mention the knowledge of a race I'd never before knew existed." Because, odd as it might seem, the chance to gain new information was perhaps the most important thing to him, though just barely second to socializing -and that was only due to his last encounter having been almost a week past!

Misty green eyes watched the white and orange Flutter as she took off, curiously gazing after her before taking a half step back. She grew! Wasn't as big as he, nor exactly the height of a regular mare, but still! Definitely a large difference now than what she'd been seconds before.

Mutely he nodded again to her words, still taking in what he'd just seen. His tongue was able to catch up with his head quick enough though, enabling him to smile in answer to hers. "A point to you, then. What's life without a bit of variety here and there?"

Again an answering response, lowering his head gracefully to formally greet the mare, name now echoing in his skull. "The pleasure is mine, Miss Coventina. Though, I am glad to hear I haven' offended you. I'd hate to see our conversation end on a foul note." He straightened and his smile broadened, brighter and cheerier than the gentlemanly sort he'd offered before.

Coventina watches Jaci with now serene expression on her face but her small body shivered because she didn't grow enough fur on her body to protect herself from the cold. She managed to smile at Jaci through the chattering teeth. "Do you think we could get to the hot spring before I become a flutter-isicle?" She smiles at Jaci while her body worked very hard to keep her warm and her internal organs functioning.

"That is very true.. you learn something new when you meet someone that you never met before or haven't seen since you were a foal." Coventina gently says as she shook some snow off her wings then she tosses her head slightly. "Thats why I am trying to meet more soquilis.. I didn't leave my herd when I was foal.. I thought I was content with just Montego as my playmate." She didn't realize that she was rambling on about her foalhood and her cheeks reddens slightly with a blush. "Forgive me. I just forgot that I am talking to someone i just met" She smiles shyly.

"Indeed.. it will be very dull, Jaci." Coventina grins in amusement as she watches this interesting stallion for while with a slight pursed lips. "I am not easy to offend, Jaci. I am very secure with myself and I am not the one to get riled up over the words or idle comments." She peers up at Jaci. "What about you? are you secure with yourself?"

He gave a small start at her words, mentally kicking himself for not noticing her shivers. "Ah, of course! Forgive me, I tend to become a bit blind when left to my thoughts." He took a step to her side, ears twitching and nose directed towards the scent and sound of water. Warm water, that is. He didn't know how any could survive without such wonderful creations out here in the wild.

"Please, continue. I find it rather interesting to hear other's stories. I was never a part of a herd, only my family. It was... interesting, to say the least, with only my father and I being grounded Soquili while my mother, brother, and sister possessed wings." His voice took on a slightly bitter tone as he spoke of his family, eyes closing briefly before opening once more, smile on his features erasing the previous darkness. "Shall we then? Although I'm sure you'd make a beautiful ice sculpture, I think it would be a bit difficult to converse, don't you?"

He stepped lightly in the snow, mindful of possible twigs and stones beneath the white blanket. Looking over his shoulder towards her again, he frowned softly to her question. A moment to ponder, he finally took a breath and replied, "I don't see why I wouldn't be secure with myself, honestly. Not to say I'm egotistical, but I don't have a problem with who -with what- I am. I used to hold jealousy towards my siblings for their wings, that's why I eventually left and haven't made contact with any of my family since." A chuckle escaped as he thought back on his childish ways. "I figured out soon enough desiring wings wouldn't get me any, and eventually I dropped my petty jealousy all together. There was simply no point.

And you thought you spoke too quickly, listen to me ramble, my apologies."
He laughed outright at his wandering mind and tongue, tail swishing as he felt the heat of the spring creep up around him as he drew near.

"So please, feel free to speak your mind around me. Like I said, I like listening to others. It's a rather fascinating experience." And he smiled, gently and encouraging. Really, what was the point of keeping one's thoughts locked up inside? Letting them boil away at your heart and mind... pointless. Let them free, let others know you have a brain -that was his philosophy, anyways.

Coventina chuckles as she promptly snuggled up against Jaci for warmth and she sighs softly. "Don't worry about it. I become blind to everything when I am left to my own thoughts or devices.... which happens more often." The small flutter laughs as she grins at the male gratefully for letting her share the body warmth with him.

The flutter smiles as Jaci looks like he is genuinely interested in what she have to say. "Well I live in this huge herd that was led by Frosta, have you heard of her?" She inquires before she shrugs. "Well, anyway..you can say that her daughter kinda adopted me as her own daughter so Montego considers me one of his sisters and calls me a bug lady.. well for obvious reasons.. " She flutters her green wings slightly. "But again, he have this obsession with bugs for some reasons." She laughs lightly then the laughter fades away as she listens to his comment.

"Well.. there is nothing wrong with being grounded soquilis.. I am sure there is alot of pros about being a grounded soquili." Coventina gently says as she looks up at Jaci with a light smile. The flutter mare stares at Jaci's comment about her making a beautiful ice sculpture and her cheeks darkens with blush as she chuckles. "I do agree with you there.." She murmurs as she nudges Jaci while she walks along his side.

Coventina occasionally will leap-walk in the snow since she is still very small compared to a regular mare so it is very difficult for her to walk in the snow that probably could swallow her up. Her ears swivels around as she listens to Jaci's response to her question and a crooked grin appears on her face. "I think most of the males are egotistical.. it comes with package, don't you think?" She laughs lightly as she nips at his tail before she leaps ahead of him. "Have you seen them lately after you gotten over your jealousy?" She glances over her shoulder at him curiously.

The heat of the spring beckons to her, which caused her pace to quicken because she could feel her ears becoming numb along with her legs. "And I encourage you to speak freely as well. Whats the point of hiding your mind or your thoughts from a soquili with the similar mind frame? Perhaps we can get to know each other and become a very good friends." She replies over her shoulder then she took off to the nearest spring. "Race ya!"
