HECK. NO. I love the feeling of playing multiple instruments! Especially one right after the other. I also play clarinet (including bflat) and flute, along with a few other instruments. It's never a bad thing to be able to play more instruments! ^^ It's like knowing a different dialect of the same language and it's amazing. Power to ya!

WHAT? Yew crazeh!
Haha, just kidding, I actually really admire those who can play more than one instrument. 3nodding I'm actually thinking of taking up alto sax! It'll give you so many more options later on (and even now) if you can learn to play both.
Good luck! biggrin

Yes, I do (but not so well sweatdrop )
I play flute primarily, piccolo is pretty even with flute. I just learned the basics for trumpet and french horn. I am better at trumpet but I'm a blaster, lol. Next semester it's tuba, trombone and percussion. I'm excited for tuba because I'm a small girl and it will be amusing to try and play such a big instrument. I suspect they will put me on a euphonium rather than tuba to learn all the fingerings and such. I had trouble with french horn because my hands were too small for it too. Trombone will be fun as well because of the slide.
It's going to be a fun semester... eek
(I'm music ed, btw smile )

No, if you were learning them both at the same time, it may make it harder to learn because you could get the two mixed up. But, once you know how to play the clarinet, then start to learn the flute, there is nothing wrong with it.

I say go for it!! They say playing an instrument makes you smarter cause you gotta know all that math and what not...so playing more than one will probably make you a genius!! ^_^
I myself have thought of taking up another instrument.....I play clarinet...funny thing is, I think myabe one day I'll learn percussion >.< rather big difference, but percussion sounds like fun....or maybe bagpipe, but what are the odds of that? >.<

I think that it would be fun. 3nodding You should try sax, too. ;D Actually, the alto sax, flute, and clarinet have really similar fingerings, which would make it a lot easier.
I'm actually thinking of trying out some other instruments, too. Maybe in high school, because my BD this year probably wouldn't want me to switch. It's been 5 years since I even touched a different instrument, though. (We tried out a bunch of different instruments in third grade to choose what we would want to play in band.)

Go ahead. Play two instruments and learn it while you can. I play the flute and I wish I was able to play more, but it's a little over my range of money to play mroe than one instrument so if you can, go ahead. Besides Flutes are awsomeo. <3 (And so are Clarinets)

No way!! I think it's awesome if you play both!! But i play clarinet and with my director the only choices you have for a second instrument if you play clarinet is oboe, sax, bass clarinet. You can't switch to a brass instrument. It's so stupid.
