Saimhain tried not to shiver as he meandered through the marketplace. Truthfully, he hated winter. He especially hated winter right before New Years because nobody was out and about for him to scare and the humans that were, well, they were a bit too paf to notice him anyway. That, and it was cold, and wet, and slightly slushy. While rolling in a snowbank was a good way to get clean, in a few hours, the streets turned to mud, gravel, and slush. Feeling a little miffed, he perched himself on a pile of crates next to a vibrant holiday display that hadn't been taken down yet, and made an effort to get the gravel out from between his toes.

Humming to himself as he turned into the market place, Nicholas started looking up and down the side streets to see if he could find anything good enough to eat. After a few minutes Nick lost intrest in finding food and was distracted by a shop with its decorations still up. Careful to avoid all the puddles that the rapidly melting snow had made, he made his way to the small shop. As he got closer he noticed that he wasn't the only one out. Stopping in front of the store but facing the other cat he smiled and tossed the white poof ball on the end of his hat back over his shoulder before addressing the other. "Hello there! A bit cold out, huh?"

Ooh, and who was this? Saimhain continued cleaning his paws as he eyed the other cat. Briefly, he wondered if the fluffy grey was the resident of this particular bit of territory, but that was unlikely from the friendly greeting. Besides, he looked rediculous! "And what are you supposed to be? Advertising for them or something?" he joked. "Christmas was last week, buddy." Not that he had any room to talk, half dressed as he was. It wasn't his fault he had short fur! Still, he swished his tail smugly and hopped down from the crate to greet the other cat. "Nice to meet you. Name's Saimhain, like the holiday."
