It's been awhile since he had actually wandered away from his teepee. He had been so occupied with his own children and now his grandchildren, Aurorealis hadn't had any time for himself. Now that they were all grown and busy with their own lives and making their own futures, he had nothing left to do but wander...
Aurorealis gazed thoughtfully at the trees around him wondering what he there was he could do now. Life changed so quickly, so much time had passed in a blink of an eye. He had changed and so had those around him. They were busy with their own lives and he was just a simple spectator. Lately, he had been neglecting taking care of himself because he found that he could help others. In his head, Aurorealis had been so blind-sighted by life that he had completely forgotten about his own.
Pawing at the ground, the stallion made his way through the trees until he reached a small meadow. There was still a little snow on the ground but little green grasses were already popping out between the melting snow piles.

Wings folded tightly against her back, Rynia darted through the forest like a frightened woodland creature. Eyes wide and anxious, the slight mare kept peeking back over her shoulder as she moved, scuttling from tree to tree as though afraid she was being pursued.
Then again, considering she WAS afraid of being pursued, perhaps that wasn't such a far-fetched assumption after all.
Finally deciding she'd made it far enough, Ryn allowed herself a moment of respite, collapsing against the side of the tree to catch her breath. At the same time, though, she was far from relaxed; sides heaving and eyes darting about rapidly, she was every inch the ill-at-ease mare.
But why shouldn't she be? Hadn't she just done the unthinkable and blown off her mother? Her MOTHER, the mare whose slightest displeasure could result in weeks of agony for those foolish enough to antagonize her? And here she, Rynia, Ladius' own daughter, was, skipping out on her lessons. Even worse, here she was RUNNING from her mother like an ashamed filly.
Of course, where her mother was concerned she always WOULD be an ashamed filly, wouldn't she?
Shaking off that thought, Rynia cast one more glance over her shoulder, then started off again. It wasn't that much farther to the meadow, and once she made it there she'd be fine...she hoped. She'd flown a good bit, so hopefully that would throw Ladius off if she was tracking her. Otherwise...
Otherwise, she'd think of that LATER. No sense worrying anymore than necessary, right?

There really was something wrong with him... Usually Aurorealis had impeccable hearing and could usually hear if another soquili was approaching or not from a good distance away. He didn't even hear Rynia running towards the clearing but he had actually turned his head and could see Rynia. Why was she running? She looked like someone was chasing after her. Should he go over to help her? The old Aurorealis wouldn't have even bothered to think about all of these things.
But unfortunately, Aurorealis was a victim of the passing of time and he was no longer the stallion he was when he first arrived in this region from the mountains he grew up in. But these things were irreversible.
"Um. Hello there?" Aurorealis called out to Rynia silently hoping that she was okay so that he wouldn't have to take any action.

To say that Rynia was surprised was putting it mildly. She hadn't even made it out to the meadow yet, but at the same time she seemed to be as visible as a new penny. Usually she was much more observant of her surroundings, but today she seemed to be lucky she knew her head from her hooves!
As it was, the stallion's voice made her nearly jump out of her skin, whirling about to face the speaker with big, anxious eyes. A stranger! And a strange stallion at that, one every bit as big and imposing as her father! Oh, she really needed to learn to pay attention more!
However, she'd been spoken to, and one thing that she'd always been reminded was to speak when spoken to. Consequently, she managed to squeak out a "Um...I didn't mean to intrude!"

Raising a brow, Aurorealis wasn't sure what to think of her. She seemed a little... skittish but not in a bad way. The first thing that came to mind when he saw her reaction to his greeting was his grandson, Everhart. It was hard to believe that little boy was related to him or Hesperos because he was very shy and timid whereas his father and grandfather were quite outgoing.
Though he wondered why she was apologizing to him... It wasn't like he looked like he was doing anything. "Oh no it's alright." Aurorealis paused slightly to observe her body language once more, "Are you alright? Do you need help with something?" Maybe she would tell him, maybe she wouldn't but at least this was getting his mind off of his own life for the moment.

"Oh, good." Well, that was a positive; if she'd unwittingly wandered into someone's solitude. Still, it was still a grim situation as far as Rynia saw it; there was actually someone else around! That wasn't supposed to happen, there was never anyone else out around here! She didn't know how to deal with this sort of situation, she was so not good with pressure...
And now she was starting to hyperventilate, if her sudden breathing difficulties were any indication. Lovely, just lovely.
Keeping her eyes away from the stallion, Rynia managed to shake her head violently, dismissing the idea that she needed help. "I'm fine, really; don't worry about me. In fact, I was just leaving." With that, the mare turned, promptly starting back off into the woods. Better the danger you knew, right?

Aurorealis didn't understand Rynia. He could tell she was obviously hiding something from him but he wasn't sure if he should intervene or not. There was that old part of him that told him to do all he could to help this mare but there was another side that told him he shouldn't care about her. Why was life getting to be so difficult for him? Wasn't growing old supposed to be the easy part about life?
He couldn't help but sigh to himself but he quickly returned his attention to the mare. "Are you... hyperventilating?" Raising a brow, Aurorealis stared at her incredulously. What the hell was going on?
With that, Aurorealis chased after her. He couldn't let her wander off into the forest alone in her condition, or could he? "Well, I can't just let you go off into the woods like this even if there is nothing wrong." Cautiously, Aurorealis caught up to her and matched her stride, walking alongside her.
