Okay so I finished reading New Moon for the third time last night and I still can't figure one thing out.
When Bella went to save Edward, did he actually step into the light and expose himself? 'Cause it's kind of confusing, the way she words it.
Help would be appriciated. ^.^

Hm When I read it I think he did then got out of the light before anyone noticed :/

I had to read that part multiple times to figure it out. I don't think he did step into the light. If he did, SOMEONE would have noticed, and the Volturi were watching him the entire time, so they would have seen him if he did, and he would have been in a lot of trouble.
This is what I think happened:
It says that he took a step TOWARD the light, but it never says he was IN the light. Bella tries to get him to move back because they are only just still in the shadows, and if the sun moves enough, they won't be anymore. Also, when the Volturi come over to them, Edward says he didn't break any of their rules.

yes i think he did because a little girl saw him and she was trying to tell her mom but i don't think he went all the way out just a little bit. read that part over and read carefully and you will see

It says that he took a step toward the light, but it never says he was in the light. In the movie a little girl does see him but Bella didn't want him to die so she moved him.

he did step into the light but bella smacked into him before anyone noticed... Only the little girl saw him sparkle and she was trying soooo hard for her parents to see
