If they invented an emotion chip do you think that Tres should use it? I mean he could be more human that way.

I highly doubt that would happen since Tres has to be emotionless to do his job effeciently if he had emotions that would render him from doing his job how he should

Sometimes he don't do anything. He can turn it on and off.

Tres was built for one purpose: to kill things for the Vatican. And to be an effective killing machine(literally) it's best to not have any emotions, because emotions almost always get in the way of trying to kill someone, whether it be fear, morality, love, etc. And since he's killed hundreds of people, he may feel regret and remorse for the countless number of lives he's taken. The only emotions that would be useful for Tres would probably be anger and hatred, because normally experiencing these increases your urge to kill.

...For some odd reason I can't help but think of the scene in Bedazzled (movie) where the guy asks to be more emotional so that he can attract a woman he likes. The problem is that he becomes so emotional that he cries at a sunset, paints dolphins, and is wayyy too sensitive and loses the chick to a "real" man. As they are leaving, the guy looks at the sunset again and starts bawling...again.
Replace that guy with Tres, and that's all I can think of when "Tres with emotions" comes to mind. rofl He just wouldn't be the Tres we all know and love. mrgreen

no i dont think its a good idea because tres could become over charged with emotion and problally wouldnt be able to kill vampiers any more

He should have that chip cuz they expect him to be logical when he fights ....if he thought with his emotions then there would be one hell of a mess trailing behind him burning_eyes

I think he should have a cirtain amount of emotions, like he couldn't ever be sad or w/e and be on the top of area of expertese

It would probably be pretty easy for William to configure the emotion chip so that it and Genocide Mode (or whatever one calls that thing he goes into right before killing people) were mutually exclusive.
If he does get one, he might want to have it activate in stages. I mean, imagine feeling absolutely nothing for your entire life, then having the full spectrum of human emotions, the good, the bad, and the ugly, all dropped onto you at once. Overload. XP
On a related note, does Tres have an immagination? Being essentially a computer, obviousy he can extrapolate on existing situations, but does he have what we consider "highter thoughts"? Essentially, do androids dream of electric sheep?

Tres does have emotions to a certain extent. Read the Gunmetal Hound sidestory arc of the manga.
highlight for spoilers...
It's amazing. It shows an almost human side of Tres, that he does have very human worries, and thinks at times where it's not necessary for a machine to think, making him question at times if he truly is a machine. He also pretty much flips out and shows a VERY human side when Duo calls his memories of Caterina trash. His speech bubbles for a few pages slowly change from square shaped (which I assume is meant to represent his machine side) to the rounded shape the 'humans' use to speak in. One can also assume from the way he he values his memories of Caterina so much and from the way he speaks/thinks about her, that he seems to almost view her as a sort of Mother figure, something a mere 'machine' would likely not see.
In all.. Tres does have emotions... of a sort. I think he actively chooses to keep them suppressed within himself so he can be more effective as Caterina's gun/possession (other things Tres refers to himself as).

I don't know about the emotions, but Tres should have a "smile" program. Think about it: he'd be smiling phsycotically as he killed people. I'd laugh my a** off at that.

I for one think Tres shouldn't have an emotion chip. He's so amazing without one. But that's just my opinion about it. To each their own.
