[[ Enter my failure at titles. U: ]] Dipingere was hunting on this snowy day in the winter, and the snow was reaching past his knees, making any progress slow and tedious work. Though his gem was of peridot, today was one of the worst hunting expoditions he had ever made, not having come across any track or scent because the falling snow quickly concealed them. He wanted to cry out in frustration, but he knew that such a loud noise would scare any hiding prey into fleeing, which normally would have been a good thing - but normally there was no snow. For the ulaya with the pattern of a painted dog, normal was hot weather and tall grass the color of his gem and the brown of his coat, but gone were those fields, and instead he was left standing, waiting for a noise that could harken prey.

Then there was Tehila. At a distance, it would almost seem like a pair of vibrant blue eyes and blue wings were floating in the mist of white. The world around her seemed to hide her pale body and all that would anounce her presence is the pair of silver bells locked around her neck, jingling lightly as she moved across the soft snow. Her footfalls left deep prints as the snow, soft at the surface, gave away easily despite her light bodyweight. Oh this particular day, Tehila had just woken from a light slumber and proceeded to explore the world as she often enjoyed doing. Without realizing it, the path led her near where Dipingere held his ground. The light cling of her bells sounded against the silence.

Dipingere's ears shot up when he heard the sounds of bells, and he furiously dove into a snow bank to hide himself. As soon as this thing walked by, he would pounce and take it down in one fell swoop. His stubby tail was hidden from the path by the snow, and he wriggled his head to gain eye holes in the snow. They weren't much and he could hardly see, but combined with his hearing he would know when the time came to pounce.

Tehila's blue eyes flickered over to where she had seen some sort of movement; however, whatever it was, it had vanished. Curiosity got the better of her and she moved towards the spot where the creature or thing had once been. Glancing around, she didn't seem to notice Dipingere at all. She shifted to look around causing her bells to ring.

Dipingere's eyes widened the moment the bells chimed before him, and he pounced, pinning down his prey and holding his face inches from it to see the look in its eyes as it drew its last breath. But wait a minute. This wasn't prey! It was just the most beautiful ulaya Dipingere had ever laid eyes on. He began to look her over, from her pristine white fur and dark blue eyes, to her long hair and shimmering wings, she was amazing. Then he saw the bells on her neck, and a large red flush flooded his face, both with embarassment from being mistaken about what he thought was prey, and because he was still pinning this beauty down.
He quickly released her, and stood, still red, not knowing what to do or say after such a faux pas.

A sudden figure launching itself out of the snow and toppling her over with its strong weight and force would shock anything. Tehila was no different and if anything, she was absolutely frightened due to her passive nature. She winced away from the figure as she felt his large paws overpowering her slim form easily. However, this weight was removed before long and slowly Tehila opened her eyes, looking around curiosly.
Dipingere's figure flooded her sense and she stood herself, shaking herself free from the damp snow that laid on her pelt. Calming herself down, she managed a weak smile towards the male, realizing he must have mistaken her for someone or something else (otherwise he wouldn't have let her off).
"My, what a lively greeting. A simple 'hello' would have been enough to grasp my attention," Her voice soft and slightly breathless.

"Ah," Dipingere began, "But I was afraid that one of the other males in these snow banks vying for your attention might get to you first, so I made my move. Her understanding manner loosened his tongue and he managed a witty response. Dipinge was just thrilled innerly that she hadn't taken flight at his attack, and he hoped that he would somehow soothe it over, if that was possible, but they seemed to be going down the right track. He smiled politely and tried his hardest not to look flushed, and he bowed to her, and when his eyes met hers once more, he began to speak, "And I hope as well that I may ask your name in exchange for mine, that of course meaning I should introduce myself. I am Dipingere, however I know that is a mouthful and feel free to shorten it as you please."
