X Sweet... I have one question though. How many spin-offs can RE have? ...or will this actually follow the games or the films? 'cause everytime they release a new RE game/movie, I get more and more confused (It doesn't help that the first RE game I played was RE4)

The movie's story should have been the same as the game's. And RE4 has mothing to do with RE 3 and the upcoming 5.

Well, at least this RE movie doesn't look like it'll be riddled with bad acting, worse writing and won't be peeing in the faces of us fans...
I do like that they seem to be on the same page as the games this time though, and if that is Leon in the trailer, it seems like Umbrella is going public again.

The films aren't cannon, and since Leon is in the trailer, I believe it will follow the series OR be a spinoff/side story.

I like the side-stories/spin-offs.
It's better than having the same slut fight the same a*****e with shades. I like when they take already existing characters and expand upon their lives, origins, etc.
Like Silent Hill. Everyone loves the Gillespie story arc, but look which game is, by majority, a fan favorite. SH2.

When I first saw The Fifth Element I thought she was the hottest thing that ever existed. Second of all..... FREAKIN SWEET, A CG RESIDENT EVIL MOVIE!!!! WITH FREAKIN LEON! HEEEEELLLLLLL YEEEEEEAAAAHHHHHH!!!! *breathes* Sorry, since the NFL now officially makes me want to vomit, I need something else to be excited about. And this movie looks very very promising. EDIT: Quick thought, how did Sony get rights to publish/produce this film, but can't keep the series Playstation-exclusive? ... Actually... Microsoft and Nintendo don't make movies so... I guess I kinda answered my own question...

She totally bastardized Resident Evil by starring as this character named "Alice". Now, I never played the original Resident Evil games, but I know a lot about them, and I sure as hell don't remember any character named Alice who is capable of using some retarded telekinesis s**t because of Umbrella Corp.'s little experiments. Now, I do remember most of the monsters there, but what the ******** is wrong with them for finally introducing Jill and Chris in the last damn movie? And by the way, in the Degeneration trailer, did I see a little glimpse of.......LEON? He's like, my favorite guy, and he was a total badass in RE 4. @Arvis_Jaggamar: She was actually ok in The Fifth Element, but since she's a model, they always give her these naked roles in movies and dress her up in the most revealing clothes possible, and she's one of those actresses that I would rather see with clothes on than naked. She just isn't believable enough to fit the roles that she plays in her movies. By the way, the NFL makes me vomit my intestines out too, so I'm with you on that one. xD

Well, that's what they're doing with Resident Evil 5, right? I can't remember if they've decided on a certain type of plague or virus to base it all on, but I'm pretty sure that it's a whole other seperate adventure that only mildly builds off of past Resident Evil games, the only thing Resident Evil 5 & past games having to do with each other being a few of the same characters.
