Does anyone here have any plans for New Years Eve? What are they? Do you have any good stories of past New Years Eves? This years I'm kinda left in the lurch for that day and I'm trying to come up with something fun to do (along with getting utterly hammered), any suggestions?

Well, I'm on a tropical island and will be setting off as many fireworks as I can get my hands on for New Year's. No joke. We've been hearing explosions all of the past three days, it's loads of fun. They have a Chinese tradition here of lighting up long strings of firecrackers up to 10 million shots long called pagaras, and we've seen a few of those too.
One funny story that involves fireworks and New Year's was the time when my father almost blew up a car with them when he was younger. He got one of the really big mortars and decided to set it off. Usually you have to put them in a tube when you set them off, but he didn't have one big enough. So he set it on the ground and lit it up. The thing went up, but it came back down and bounced and rolled its way under a car. Where it exploded. Apparently sparks went everywhere and there was a big boom, but unfortunately it did not blow up the car.

Dray made his favorite cake and will eat some at midnight. Horrible for the digestion, but it's one night and I'm already manic.

Look for me by the moonlight. My town is celebrating its 400th anniversary this year and it starts on New Year's Eve so I'll go and see what it's like. They're expecting 10,000 to 15,000 people but I'm pretty sure there's gonna be a lot more cause about everyone I know said they wanted to go there.
As for my funny story, it was 8 years ago. We spent New Year's Eve in a chalet with my aunt's family. We tried to gather as many balloons as possible so that we could burst them for the new year. So at midnight we started jumping on them wihtout realizing that my 5-year-old brother was playing under the pile of balloons. He ended up with a split lip and a huge headache to celebrate the new millennium. xd And he had also fallen off a Tarzan rope that afternoon... Poor him!
Watch for me by the moonlight.

So that was a fun New Years, it all just fell into place at the last moment. Me, my boyfriend and bunch of friends just got sloshed at my friend Braden's house. Simple but fun, sometimes the best memories are simple ones.
