I had a great Christmas, sadly my dad had to work so we weren't able to travel around and see family. My top three gifts were DDR, Guitar hero, and Lego star wars. xp I love how the Lego people burst into blocks when the die. lol *POP!* xd sweatdrop

I only got candies (really yummy Ferrero kind), and some small silver necklace thing. I did love the candies, but I don't know what I'll do on the chain thing (and the hints I got might as well have been "you present is like a turtle swimming in bricks" =/ ).

Kay, like, I got some small silver chain necklace thing, and after talking about wanting a collar (as I found one curiously poking around and kinda liked the idea to get one), and thought I was getting one. I asked for hints. Here's what I got:
"It's colorless."
"It's shiny"
"think of dogs"
Then I broke it down and found out after the "colorless/shiney" ment something different. She said "well, colorless = white". .....white IS a color! I don't care if you color peeps say "white is not the color, but the absence there of" or "white is all the colors blended in one spectrum wave". ....I'm not counting some color theory thing or light. I'm talking color as in color. White is a color. White and black are the most powerful and corruptive colors (and lets see you mix all and any colors of paint to make white or black. Can't be done).
Then I thought 'OK, so by shiny and colorless, it's something shiny and white. .....maybe it's white, is or has a shiny thing to it, and the dogs part means a collar?'. .....so not the case, as I got a small, thin, silver rope chain necklace.
So, the hints I got were totally misleading, and had nothing to do with what she said. Hence my dumb version of the gift clue I made.

OK Yeah your right, how does a silver necklace = colorless or dogs? shiny is the only one of those that made any sense. I guess colorless meant dull color like not red green blue ect. Still those are some messed up hints.

Well, she said "white isn't a color". ...even though the thing was silver. And that aside, yeah, colorless to me means something of no color at all, like clear glass or invisible.... She was thinking of white=colorless. ....that's in some kind of color theory or something... Saying white (or was it black?) having not a color, as it's white (or again, black). But black and white are colors. They are not all the colors, and they are not the lack-there-of.

It works two ways, if you're talking about light then white is the presence of all colors and black is the absence of color. If you're talking about objects then white is lack of color and black is a mixture of all colors.
We actually have color backwards a bit, because we call an object the color we see, but it's really all the colors we don't see from it and the color we call it is the only one it reflects.

Heh....
"Light = all colors is white/ none is black"- I guess so. But light factoring has no real comparison when saying what something is physically (like saying snow owls are white because they have all the colors there at once).
"Physical= white is lack of color/ black is mix of all"- Not really. Physically and in paint wise, black and white are just influencing colors. If you take every color of paint and mix it, you won't make a pure black. Just a ugly brownish mix. Just as you can't mix all the paint to make white. They're too powerful. And also, depending on what material is black, it won't look black (like how some fur/feathers/hair is so black that the only wavelength of light able to reflect off of it is a blue/purple hue).
And besides... She said it was colorless and shiny when it was silver (and she said 'white is the lack-there-of' which still doesn't work in a physical trait).
Saying black or white is all/none of the other colors is just different color theories. But if it isn't light talk, and just paint/physical talk, then white and black are colors. You can't really take or add colors to something else like that.

I'm wasn't agreeing with or arguing for anyone, just defining things. I agree with you that colorless means clear, not silver or white. I still have no clue where dog came from. Most "clear" things have some color in them. If they didn't you could look through several yards of a substance and see whats on the other side as clearly as if it wasn't there.

Heh... No idea what the 'dog' part had to do with anything either =P. Yeah, clear things can have color to them, but usually I think of clear as in uber clear glass or literally invisible.
I know you weren't arguing. Just last night/well, (early morning) I was just really tired and got worked up over the color thing =P. I really shouldn't post anything when I'm tired.
