Ello PPS!
'Tis Sagey here, and I'm hosting the "Best Poem" Contest! >W<
Rules are simple:
1) PM me your poems and I will eventually post them up. I don't care how long they are, as long as they're appropriate. I expect creativity! If you choose to remain anonymous when I post your poem, please feel free to add that into the PM, and I'll arrange accordingly x3
2) I expect honesty! If you wrote the poem, then good for you. I don't want plagiarism. I can't tell if you did it, but I'd still appreciate an honest contest here, okay? :3
3) Winner will be determined sometime after the New Year, but I must receive a supple amount of poems! xO
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Prizes:
First Place: 10K + 3 Mystery Gifts! xO~~~~
Second Place: 5K + 2 Mystery Gifts! xO~~~~
Third Place: 2.5K + 1 Mystery Gift! xO~~~~
All non-placing contestants will either receive 1K or a mystery gift of my choosing 3nodding
Happy writing, everyone! <3
And in the spirit of things, I'll post some of my own poems... as soon as I find them 3nodding
Here are the entires so far!
ENTRY 1:
By: --Anonymous--
There’s a strange sort of something in the air, That suggests destructive beauty, A feeling carried by the wind, Strengthened by the setting sun in a milky puddle. The fingers of the branches, The song of the twilight, Calling me ever nearer. Looking up into the sky, Clouded with my emotions, There’s a strange sort of something there tonight. A feeling that lasts only seconds, Now happens to pass through my mind, No stars are there above, But all the beauty of the sky is captured in the air. The last lights are dying, The mist comes falling down, One blink and its over, And the strange sort of something becomes a strange sort of nothing.
ENTRY 2:
By: WinterBean
The once was a child named Joe Everyday he would wait for the snow He would wait by the door For the snow he adored And the fresh winter winds to blow
Then one day the snow finally came And Joe ran outside and proclaimed "I love how the snow shimmers, and the sky seems to glimmer, and not even two snowflakes are the same."
ENTRY 3:
It's the warm cocoa in the mug, the sparkling fire in the hearth, the smiling of your family, the love of life and earth.
It's the smile of a child, on a chilled winter's day, It's the paint on a doll, that makes it ready for display.
It's the presents wrapped with care, it's the stockings in the fireplace, It's the coal that's not in sight, but the cheer on every soul's face.
It's the warmth of a hug, oh a very joyful feeling, it gives you joy that reaches, reaches to the ceiling.
It's the refreshing smell of pine, that spreads throughout the air, It's the pure white on the ground, It's the love for all that's fair.
It's this poem written gleefully, in the spirit of the holidays, it's that very same spirit, which puts us in a craze.
So listen to the words I wrote, and make them soon come true, as the holidays are upon us, merry wishes to you!
The Black Widow
There once was a lady, Dainty and corn-haired was She. The lady was intertwined with the roots of Terra Whilst she slept, the Earth flourished, flourished.
Then came a man, A magician was He. He fell in love with the dainty and corn-haired She. He released her from her Earthly trap. They planned to elope and love ‘til the end of time.
But the dainty and corn-haired She had other plans She devoured her lover, And took on his face, For she could not survive on the Earth.
Whilst she walked on the Earth, Unaware of the dying, dying land and people She walked, walked, walked Waiting for Death to come and claim Her.
Wings of Butterflies
As a red butterfly flow through the snow and ice, it looked like white rice with spice. As a green butterfly flew on the branch of a tree, it hided so well that u cannot even see.
As a blue butterfly flew above the lake, u wonder if it would fall and put its life at stake. As a yellow butterfly flew below the sun, u wonder if its having any fun.
As a black butterfly flew in the sky, u start to think when will u wither and die. As a white butterfly fall into a white stream, u start to think if all of this is a dream... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When will you be judging them? Or do you not have enough people in the contest?
