Well, it has aired, and those of us whtat have recorded it have had a chance to view it several times by now. Even those that did not record it by now should have had time to think about/digest the material and form opinions. I am curious as to the reaction. For me, I am still on the fence. There were both positives and negatives to the show. Positives: Voice acting was passable. Starscream's voice was rather well done, and BB was not as annoying as he appeared. The gruff voice to Ratchet reminded me of Kup, and Meg's voice was rather interesting. Dark without being bass. Interesting. G1 Homage was a huge plus. Showing that they are referring to a possible continuation of that storyline by showing footage from the 'old days' really made me smile. Humor was well placed. "I'm Sari." "No need to aplogize . . ." Damn that was funny. Negatives: Some of the voices just don't seem to mesh. For instance, what the slag did they do to Blitzwing?!? Herr Doktor, to fight club, to ridiculous flamer?!? Optimus left me . . . wanting. Instead of the hero/leader we get a Rodimus clone. He was more Orion Pax than Optimus. The only time he shined was in dealing with Ultra Magnus. Allspark? * facepalm* Ugh.

I loved it, and I'm going to be tuning in regularly for it.
I loved the G1 footage at the beginning, and the fact that Suri's dog was named Sparkplug. They were both really cute homages to the G1 source material. And this incarnation of Prowl is making me difficult to hate on him. He just reminds me way to much of Data from Star Trek, and I can't hate Data. gonk And he got shat on. I think that's really enough for him to have to suffer through.
Starscream appears to actually be a capable villain in this one. Even if he wasn't, his "solemn face! Solemn face!" line was enough to make me a hesitant fan of him this time around.
I can't really hate Blitzwing either, because I think he's probably going to wind up being in the running for our mascot over at capslock_tf. If he isn't, then he should be.
The animation was pretty dodgy at some points, but I'm not overly concerned with animation. I give it one and a half thumbs up.

I was honestly expecting it to suck, but was pleasantly surprised when I saw it. It definitely could've been a LOT worse.

I also was expecting it to suck... Out loud. But... I find myself pleasantly surprised. This almost seems like an attempt to blend the Movie transformers and G1. Notice how Megatron looked like a cross between blender-face Megatron and domecap Megatron?
It's not a bad attempt, I gotta say. You all are hating on the Allspark, but... To be honest, at least in this, it takes more of a story to explain it.
Well of All Sparks... Wow. They really pushed alot of the G1 references, too, lol.
So, I'm a bit confused. Is BlackArachnia on the decepticon crew?
And I liked what they did with BlitzWing. Kinda makes you wonder about some of those triplechangers, lol.
I did notice that the animation was a bit dodgy here and there. Almost.. unfinished. But hopefully that gets better as the series goes on.
This is.... what, the 2nd or third time that an Optimus was stationed as something other than the Leader of the Autobots/Maximals?

*had to watch it on youtube because Canada hates Transformers (our premiere is Jan. 1st*
I was awe struck. Simply awe struck, which never happens. Ever. I like the animation style (but, in fairness, I like anything that isn't lazy like Energon/Cybertron).
The story and writing was just beyond my expectations. I already love Blitzwing and Lugnut. How can you not like Lugnut? He's an evil Grimlock. And everyone loves Grimlock.
My two downers about the show were the one 'we must take 5 minutes to Transform' sequence (which I'll aloow in the pilot episode, and maybe 2 or 3 more), and monotone Prowl. At the same time, prowl might be able to work like that. We'll have to see.
"Ze name iz Blitzwing, insect. Rememberr it, forr it shall be ze last thing you hear before I *twitch* express my feelings in SONG! Ze itsy-bitsy spiderr went up ze water spout" *starts dancing* "Lugnut likes the one of Megatron!" *starts dancing too*
There's a song about Megatron? And it's sung in a german accent? I must hear it.
=EDIT= After the initial awe-struckness wore off, I see that I'm diasspointed they played the kill Optimus card too soon. It really devalued the moment and takes a lot of the threat away when they revived him 75 seconds later >.>

So... What'd they get you for?I was expecting it to be a total flop. I mean the idea of Optimus being a firetruck didn't appeal to me. And the animation caught me off guard when I looked at the previews. Then Prime's voice took some getting used to. In the end though I to was pleasantly surprised I thought it was going to bomb. But it didn't it met my expectations really well. It's nothing like the G1 show oh geez none can live up to the good old days. But it's a whole lot better then some of the other new season which were some what of a flop in my opinion. Good pointsLike you said Starscream was pretty awesome. His voice worked so well with the character it was uncanny. And he has somewhat of a resemblance to his G1 design also which made me like him more. Tons of a character was given to all the mechs. I could easily tell one from another which at times with some shows is hard to do (don't ask I'm a writer) Sari was great she seemed a little annoying with her fangirlism at first but slowly I begun to accept her. She's not really an annoying human character and probably has the best design of any of the human characters. Plus the fact how brave and strong she can be when it comes to the people she cares about. So I see plenty of potential with her. Bumblebee was great like always but to tell you the truth at first I didn't know if I was going to like him. But after a while I soon warmed up to his character. Not just because in general he's been my favorite 'bot either. So far all the autobots seem really well done and have unique personalities. I can accept all of them already. I like the fact that Optimus is younger in the show. Gives him a lot more to conflict with and makes flaws come more into his character. And from what I can tell he's not really all cut out to be leader right off the bat. Plenty of heart pounding action scenes stocked into it. Also a bit of comedy to lighten the mood for younger people or those who need a little bit of a breather. But not too much at the same time. Finally I like how unlike most shows now a days it seems to follow at a slow but steady pace and doesn't feel like everything is flying by too fast. Bad pointsThe animation is taking some getting used to. The Transformers themselves are fine but the humans are argh some of them are hard to look at. Especially the ones without pupils. I mean WTH? Why even do that honestly. Bumblebee's voice... while not too bad it's not totally good. I mean I think I'll start to get used to it but it seems like no a days no one knows how to do a good voice for 'Bee like his G1 version. To tell you the truth I can't think of anything else I really disliked about it lol. ---------------------- Ooh anyone who doesn't have access to it I found this new sight where you can watch videos that's better then YouTube. Plus it has the special on it. LINKI bought a car. Turned out to be an alien robot. Who knew?

My god, Lockdown is just a million flavors of delicious, delicious awesome villainy.
And I'm also giving Prowl a thumbs up for burning rubber right into his face. Prowl did a wheelie. On a guy's face. *swoon*

Lockdown is something of a stereotype of a charecter. He is cliche, but still okay. I won't be writing stories of his greatness, though.
The Facie (Face Wheelie) was truly arrogant and awesome. Instead of a simple punch, or perhaps a blast wth a weapon, Prowl went with a 'Slag you' kinda move. Very impressive.

I am noticing an obvious dichotomy. When they follow the storyarc of Megatron and the exploits to resume power, the shows are generally good. When they follow a human enemy storyarc, the shows are generally bad. Where the two met in 'Nanosec' it was mediocre at best.
Moral? More Bots and Cons, less humans.

It was interesting to see Elita-1 used in the new series. the whole mutation makes me a bit leary, but the charecter looks like one that will 'flesh out' nicely. The only questions I have at the moment are:
What was Elita-1's alt mode?
and
What is under that helmet? If you look, it is plain to see the helmet on the floor, so what does her head/face look like under there now?

We can only speculate what's under her helmet.
As for Elita's alt mode, I predict HasTak will make a toy of her for season 2 when that stuff that happens that I won't say because it would be a spoiler.
I must say, dispite all the knowledge of how plot lines go that I have, I didn't expect the last scene with the crying.

I would welcome any spoilers that you wanna send my way. Knowing the plotline does not ruin the enjoyment of the show as a whole for me!
I thought the sobbing was a nice touch, to show her as still being tortured by either her feelings for Prime, her condition, or both.
