Kane & Lynch isn't as disappointing as Gamespot made it out to be.

The biggest problem I think they had was that it seemed like they took too much influence from Hitman in terms of gameplay. The game actually does some really impressive things.

For example, you see actual damage on some of the characters when they get shot. And if you shot an enemy and they fall, they don't always immediately die. You can actually see them still moving and walk up to them and shot 'em in the head military style.

Wii ports are even worse when PS3 ports.

Call of Duty 4 seemed to be a good candidate for game of the year. I'm content with what they chose and I'm in agreement with them so I don't want to start a SMG backlash argument here as I feel it is a worthy candidate in my eyes but if it was different Call of Duty 4 seemed to be good for game of the year . Not to mention it got best game for 360 & PS3.

There are many worthy candidates for "game of the year."

Super Mario Galaxy no matter what hatred you people have for it must have been worthy for it to get it. It has all the elements I feel make a great game and it is a great game. Just because it has the "fat plumber" and is "trippy" (yes I saw trippy as a negative for it before) don't mean it isn't a good candidate for it. God forbid it's has galaxies that are sunny and in paradise vs the dark gloomy feel of others. I saw someone say that as a negative before.

As I said it isn't the only worthy candidate. We can make a list of worthy candidates. If not for SMG, definitely Call of Duty 4 . 3nodding

The game industry is not the same as it was in 2004. There are too many better game out there this year. I guess you agree with the spike TV game awards if you think the Bioshock won Game of the Year. The thing is that both Bioshock and SMG both have no multiplayer. Multiplayer these days is essential, and I cannot belive the a single player only game could win this year.
