The snow was rather deep on the meadow and wading through it was tough going for the little usdia. She picked up her legs as high as possible to carve a path through the crunchy snow. She now regretted leaving the sheltered confines of the forest.
She managed to make her way into the trees and the snow seemed to almost instantly recede. Needless to say walking was far easier now and she picked up her pace. She wasn't sure where she wanted to go. She took in a mouthful of snow and allowed it to melt before swallowing it. To go home, or not to go home? She knew the forest like the bottom of her hoof but if she wasn't careful she could still get lost.
The snow picked up and swirled about her, chilling her to the bone. Winters back home were brutal and the winters away from the palefaces were starting to give them a run for their money. She did not fancy the cold in the least. All she needed was a blinding snow storm and a puma after her. That'd be lovely and in this forest, it could happen.
As she got farther into the forest the trees sheltered her from the brunt of the wind and snow. The squirrel trails were hard to find anymore under the snow but the bear and deer trails were easy as ever. She noticed a a few carefully snapped branches. It seemed two-leggers had been out hunting today. She wondered if Ayashe, the woman she lived with, had been among them.

"Haha!" Bly shouted and listened carefully to his echo. "Pa, you gotta try this!" he said bounding through the snow. It was his first time in serious snow and he was enjoying it. He was in a good mood despite the fact that pa had insisted on following him everywhere today. "Come on Pa! Jump in the snow, what are you afraid to get a little wet?" he dared to kick some snow toward his apparently miserable father. But Bly did not notice his father's distaste for their surroundings.
Copper groaned on the inside. Maybe it had not been such a good idea to follow his dingbat of a son. On any other normal day it would have been ok. But today, in the snow, it was torture. When Bly kicked snow at him for the fifth time he'd finally had it. "AH! Do you have to do that? We're going back into the forest. There's less snow there and I won't have to jump where I go!" he said loudly enough to send echos around them.
Bly listened to his father's echos like they were music. "See? I told you!" he said.
"You didn't tell me anything." Copper snapped and trudged toward the trees. He heard his son bounding after him in a much faster pace and soon saw him pass.
Bly reached the trees before Copper only to see a little...foal?...standing before him. "Oh hi! Where's your ma?" he asked kindly and grinned at what was really an usdia.
(Sorry. Super long reply that probably should've been two posts. xP)

Flower looked up to the rather excitable stallion. She arched a brow. 'Great...I'm a filly again.' She thought. He seemed nice enough though, and slightly familiar for some reason. She couldn't quite place it.
"Erm...me Mum's in England with the pale faces." She said tilting her head to one side, hoping that would answer his question and help clue him in that she was an adult. He seemed newly grown. She'd have a bit of fun with this one before she explained to him what she was.
"Dad's there too...came across the ocean with some pale faces all on my lonesome. I'm a big girl now." She said with a nod of affirmation. She could barely keep a straight face.

He giggled. "Pa! Come look! I found a foal." he said forgetting about her earlier statements. There was just simply no way she could be an adult. "I think it's cute that she thinks she's grown up!" he said to Copper when he showed up at Bly's side.
Copper snorted. "I think it's cute that you think you're smart." Copper teased Bly with a grin. He knew this little Usdia. He had saved her once from a mountain lion. If she had not already told Bly what she really was, Copper would go along with her game. It would be fun to tease his son. Especially since Bly probably wouldn't notice. That would make it all the more hilarious. Copper winked at Flower.
Bly didn't notice his father's teasing. He smiled at Flower. "What's your name cutie?" he asked curiously but stared around at the forest. He would probably not catch her reply. It happened often.

"Oh, but...I'm not even supposed to talk to...you seem nice enough though. I'm Flower." She said with a wide smile. "Might I ask your name Mister?"
She asked before looking to Copper, having caught his wink.
"You two look alike! Is he your daddy?" She said, as innocently as possible. "But," She continued. "If he's your daddy then you must take after your mummy as well..." She looked down at herself. "I got daddy's colours and mummy eyes...aren't they pretty?" She asked as she batted her lashes, trying to think like a hyper, deprived for company filly.
Oh what fun she was having! She'd have to thank Copper later for going along with it.

Bly blinked slowly and looked back at her. He hadn't even caught half of what the foal had said but he knew her name and that she thought he and Copper looked alike. "I'm Bly. I told you that right? And no. That's silly. I look nothing like Pa." he said oblivious to the fact that he looked very much like his father.
"He takes after his mother as far as personality goes...Only...She's a little brighter." Copper chuckled. "You have very pretty eyes. Your Ma would be very proud of how much you've grown." he said trying not to laugh. "But I wonder what she'd think about you talking to strangers? Tsk tsk." Copper looked at Bly who was staring at Flower with an apparent glazed look in his eyes.
Bly was far from the current conversation. He was daydreaming about what he thought England was. The word reminded him of eggs for some reason and he had no idea that it was a different country in the world.
((Lmao. *Luffs playing Bly* xD))

"Can you not see well Mister Bly? You look a lot like him." She nodded. "Thank you, erm..." She paused. "Mister Bly's Daddy." She said with a smile. "I take care of myself." She said proudly puffing out her chest, to try and get Bly's attention. "So I don't think mummy would mind much that I'm talking to you. I think she'd like you." She added.
She tilted her head. "Mister Bly? Are you okay? You have a funny look in your eyes." She said, looking concerned. 'Of course, I expect his Mum was sharp as a bear's tooth. But, I wonder if Bly had a blow to the head as a colt.' She thought.

Bly shook his head and looked at her with clear eyes. He had her attention...For now. He watched her puff out her chest and grinned. "Hey! I can do that! It's supposed to make you look bigger." he said and puffed out his own chest. Only he did it with more dramatic puffing so he only looked ten times more poofy and dumb. But he didn't know. "See?!" he said and smiled down at her.
Copper rolled his eyes and shook his head. Sometimes he too wondered if he had accidentally bumped his head when he was young. Or maybe his basket had been just a little too tight? He loved his son but sometimes it was crazy how dumb he was. Copper wondered if maybe he did it on purpose because every now and then his son was very smart. Especially when it came to being sneaky. "You're doing it wrong." Copper mumbled knowing his son would not hear.

Flower burst out into a fit of child-like giggles but soon they turned into a deep, belly laugh. "Too bad I'm an adult mare." She said with a large grin. "M'sorry Bly, but...I couldn't help myself...it is truly a pleasure to meet you though." She looked to Copper. "Thanks." She added with a wink. "How is your mate doing?" The mare asked, still unable to thank him enough for saving her. A life debt was hard to pay in her books.
She also secretly wondered if he had other children and how their intelligence level was. Bly was very charming in a dopey, naive, sort of way.

Watching her laugh, Copper too began to laugh as well. It was hard to stop but eventually he did and shook his head, catching his breath. He heard more laughter and looked over to see Bly laughing as well.
"What are we laughing about?" Bly said in between giggles. He looked at Flower. "Full grown? Mate? You know him?" he gave up trying to think about it and went back to day dreaming and humming to himself quietly.
"His sister's smarter. Kasi's good." Copper smiled and shook his head at his son. "I could swear his brain was stolen when he was young or something. But we love him anyways." he said still looking at Bly.
Suddenly Bly snapped back to attention. "If you're not a foal what are you?" he asked curiously then continued humming. He had no clue that his father and Flower had been laughing at him earlier. Bly looked up at the tree tops and randomly began wondering what it would be like to fly.

She nodded. "Know him? I owe my life to this kind hearted stallion." She told Bly. "Your father's very corageous." She nodded to Copper. "Glad to hear she's doing well and he's got a sister. It just be rather nice to have siblings." She mused aloud.
Flower chuckled slightly at the comment of Bly's brain being snatched. "He is certainly very loveable." She agreed.
Speaking of Bly, he must have decided to join the conversation again. She smiled sweetly. "I'm a Usdia...it means 'pony' in the two-legger's language. So I was born a lot smaller and a bit stockier than Soquili are." The mare explained.

"Oh, well..." Bly's voice trailed off as he had once again lost interest in the conversation. He looked up at the tree tops and stuck out his tongue to recieve a few snow flakes. He giggled quietly and chased a few before they melted.
"Yes, he is. I don't think he has any enemies. He's too...Special." Copper laughed. "It would be nice to have siblings...But having a family and children is just as satisfying. Maybe even more." He nodded and watched his son chase after snow.
"Pa! You gotta try this! Stick out your tongue and they melt when they hit it!" Bly said it as if it was the most amazing thing in the world. "Look! See!" he caught a few more flakes on his tongue and blinked oddly. "One went in my eye...Pa!! Get it out get it out! Wait...It's gone." he blinked again then trotted a bit away from Copper and Flower to catch more snowflakes.

Flower sniggered at the young stallion's antics. "Yes, I could hardly imagine someone ever being too cross with him." She agreed. When he mentioned family she nodded and watched Bly run about. "Yes, heh, a family seems like such a novel thing." She said softly as if the notion was sacred. "My wee one's up and on her own now...it kind of leaves...an empty place." She said as she pawed at the snow absentmindedly before looking up. "Oh! Pardon me..." She said blushing slightly. "Didn't mean to let my mouth run off." She added.

"It's perfectly ok. I expect the same thing happens to me a lot. You have children?" If she had said so in the first place he would not have begun to speak about it. He didn't know the subject caused her pain.
Bly decided to stop catching snowflakes. His neck hurt. And it seemed they went everywhere except his mouth anyways. "The snowflakes don't like me!" he whined to himself and plopped himself onto the ground. He then noticed Flower and pa talking. He felt oddly left out. So he rushed right in between them interupting the conversation. "Bly's here! Don't worry." he said and grinned.
Copper stared at his son's sudden appearance. Then he frowned. "Bly, it's not polite to interupt!" he said still knowing it was a lost cause and there was no point in trying. Sure enough it seemed Bly hadn't heard his father's words. Oh well.

Flower nodded. "Yes, I...adopted a young filly who didn't have any parents." She said, glancing down for a moment. "Heh, I haven't seen her in ages." She added. She never thought she'd have any children of her own with her own insecutiries and such.
