A light-hued figure touched down from the blue skies and his blood red eyes scanned the landscape silently, absorbing his surroundings to find the best spot to rest (of course). Asriel eyed the world as though its insignificance was causing his endless boredom. Already three dreadful days have passed without anything particularly interesting happening and he doubted this day would be any more eventful. He strolled on past a flowing river and through the frosted grass dampening his white pelt. He huffed lightly in irritation as he settled down at a small clearing under a tree. Vaguely he had a bad feeling about this place as though something would pop out at him at any given moment. Well, at least that would be more interesting then lying there all day.

Lefora padded through a field of long, frosted grass, the ice melting on her black and red fur. Her claws were extended, ready to strike at anything that bled that would be so smart as to cross her path. Her pinkish-white eyes scanned the surrounding area, though her vision wasn't as sharp as her sense of smell and hearing.
And then her nose twitched as the slight breeze blew by the scent of another Ulaya. Her pace quickened slightly as she came upon the clearing where the being sat. Her eyes saw the light blue color of his fur, the blue leopard spots, the long tail with a bushy end, the red ribbon tied around his neck, and the enormous feathery wings. Not to mention the light blue gem he adorned on his forehead. She blinked and looked into his blood red eyes. The same color as the markings on her pelt. He was interestingly different. "Hello," She greeted, her malicious nature staining her voice. She hated it sometimes . . .

His eyes snapped open and red met red and in most cases, that wouldn't end well. Hello, he saw her before he heard her and slowly he came to his feet, tucking his wings behind his shoulderblades before facing her and enveloping himself in her malicious tone. Vaguely he noted that she might not be the darn kindest company but, with a careful grin, he decided there was and would be no harm.
"What brings the lady out this evening?" His voice even and low, his eyes dull in a sense that he expected something more than what she was letting on. His long tail swinged back and forth in a lazy manner or perhaps it was in an arrogant manner. It was hard to tell.

Lefora blinked, her eyesight growing more vague. Listening to his tone and watching his tail, she figured this male was either arrogant or lazy. "What else would bring out a nocturnal lady?" She asked, her malicious tone dying down a bit as she dragged in the cold, crisp air through her mouth. "It's a nice evening, too." She added, giving a slight gesture with her head to the full, yellow moon hanging overhead as the sun set to becoming no more than a crimson streak staining the horizion.

Asriel took a breathless glance at the lurking moon and the blood stained skies. It alomost seemed like red of his eyes glowed brighter in the light of the dying sun. A easy smile drew across his lips, almost tauntingly and then it was gone. "A peaceful evening," he seemed to agree with her simple comment. He stepped forwards, slightly pass her then stopped, eyeing her quietly. "Nocturnal? The night is a dangerous time." Her eyes seemed unfocused and vaguely he wondered wether it was a physical or mental weakness of hers; perhaps unfocues, uninterested or perhaps ... something else.

Lefora raised an eyebrow, her translucent eyes looking at the male. "So you don't enjoy the tense feeling that something's gonna just pop out and scare or attack you? The feeling that you always have to be aware of everything around you?" She asked, then ends of her lips twisting up into a slight grin. "I, on the other paw, enjoy that feeling."
Her eyes were going in and out of focus, even blacking out from time to time. She mentally growled at herself. What on earth was going on?

Okay so the female was creeping Asriel out. He for one wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing since it wasn't like he came across another that had the tendency to enjoy ... odd things. "Usually, no," he replied simply. It seemed his nonchalant attitude was rearing its ugly head. Then again, how do you reply to a confession like that? Quietly, he noticed how her eyes were looking at him but not. It was a sensation that was hard to describe.

"Oh, then what do you particularily enjoy?" Lefora asked, trying to keep with the conversation without roaring out loud and clawing her eyes out. They were agitating her, lacking the capability to maintain focus for more than a few seconds.
She shook her head. "Where are my manners? I'm Lefora." She introduced herself with a little flick of her bobtail.

"Asriel," he replied automatically to the spoken name. He shook his head lightly at her question, "Nothing. It seems the world is set out to bore me."
He took a moment to eye her meaningfully. By now he would have noticed how agitated she was from the flick of her tail, head, and such. Being the gentlemen he was, "Is something bothering you?" That was probably the understatement of the day but who was he to know? He showed no overwhelming concern (or none at all under the trained eye), however, that was just something that defined him. Innerly, if you must know, he was fairly worried.

"Asriel, huh? Nice name." Lefora complemented. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
She seemed to freeze in place, stiffening in every possible place. Her ears seemed to drop a bit and she sighed. "I guess it would probably be best to just tell you than seem mentally insane, if I don't give off that impression already." She began with a light, rueful chuckle. "It's my eyes, they're not . . . functioning, if you want to put it that way. They never have. It's why I'm so . . . bloodthirsty. So that others would leave me alone and not take advantage of my . . . disadvantage." She explained with a sigh. "That's all. And they've been bugging me more than they usually would."

Asriel nodded respectfully then listened quietly, as he always does. He soon he head although she probably wouldn't see that, he then realizes. "I don't see blindness as a significant disadvantage." He then grins. "Mostly for you who enjoys your time in the night when eyesight is merely a luxury."

"True." Lefora replied with a shrug. "But during the day time, it can be a bit of a problem. But with a sense of smell and hearing, it can't be that bad. Yet, I do miss having a good set of eyes way back when I no more than a few days old." She explained.
Her eyes blacked out and she lost her sense of balance. She started swaying before tripping over her feet and stumbling closer to Asreil. She regained her balance without actually realizing she moved anywhere. "And they've blacked out right now . . ." She muttered.

Asriel became froze the moment she fell towards him. Part of him told him he should move to help her steady but the dominating part was in a world of ackwardness. She was just a little too close... He coughed. "Yes. I noticed." He stepped to the side and settled there now. "Does it come and go?"

Lefora nodded. "Yes, but right now it's not . . ." She felt sick with the lack of sense of where she was. Her balance was getting completely thrown off. She tried to feel where the ground was, only to stumble again towards Asriel. "Going." She finished the sentance she started.
She tripped over her feet and yelped, bumping into Asriel's shoulder and then falling flat on her face. "Sorry." She apologized, muffled by the ground. She was embarrassed.

Asriel blinked, slightly thrown off by the sudden collision and nearly followed in her path to the ground. However, he managed to catch himself which was something he could not say for the female. He shifted uncomfortably to the other side then leaned down to look at her. "Are you sure you’re alright?" Another obvious question.
